Gather around the antique dining table, relax around the wood burning fireplace, 65-inch smart TV, or enjoy the coffee bar and wine fridge while prepping meals at the spacious kitchen island.
There are two separate outdoor areas directly off of the main level to relax and enjoy the crisp mountain air. A patio with spacious hot tub and gas grill, and an aspen-lined deck where you can relax and watch the hummingbirds visit the outdoor feeder.
After a day of mountain adventures there's no better way to unwind than slipping into the warmth of your private hot tub. Take in the expansive mountain and lake views as you relax sipping a glass of wine, share stories with loved ones, or enjoy the peace and serenity of a solo soak under the star filled Colorado sky.
The upper level of Mountain Moose Retreat has two bedrooms comfortably separated for privacy. The spacious primary bedroom has a king bed with a spectacular evergreen and aspen framed views of Grand Lake, the largest and deepest natural lake in Colorado. The primary bedroom slider door opens to a private deck with seating and surrounded by more beautiful aspen trees. The primary bedroom ensuite bathroom provides two sinks, a claw foot tub for soaking, and a separate shower with rain fall shower head.
The second bedroom on the upper level also has a king bed with ensuite bathroom. The bedroom's slider door opens to a large patio area that offers expansive views of Shadow Mountain Lake and the Continental Divide in the distance. This bedroom has a small desk situated against a large corner picture window where you can enjoy the expansive mountain and lake vistas while writing about your Grand Lake adventures.
Both bedrooms on the upper level have smart TVs, and the washer and dryer room is located off the hallway between these two bedrooms.
The lower level has a third bedroom with queen bunkbed (2 queen beds!) where you can enjoy more views and stargazing at night, if you are lucky enough to get the top bunk! This bedroom also has an ensuite bathroom.

This cabin was beautiful and had a once in a lifetime view! We felt right at home and enjoyed the large kitchen! We were minutes from Grand Lake so we could fish whenever we wanted! We watched the sunset over the mountains from the hot tub! You should stay here!

Hi Kathleen, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay and selected Mountain Moose Retreat for your annual ice fishing trip!
Our family of six, from grandkids in their 20s, parents in their 50 s and grandparents in their early 80s, found this wonderful mountain home ideal for its huge great room for cooking, eating and games as well as the three sleeping areas when we wanted downtime for reading. We spent every evening at sunset looking out over Mt. Baldy. The excellent host offered welcome details for making our trip easy.
House was the cleanest and newest place I have ever stayed in. Host checked in every day with me to make sure everything was okay. An excellent experience all around.
We throughly enjoyed our stay here. Had great amenities for infants, kids, and adults. Plenty of space for a family trip. Kitchen is well stocked and the place was very clean! The views were incredible. Lots of stairs in the home and to front door so not good for limited mobility.
This place was spectacular...incredible view! Cant wait to come back. Every detail handled and very nice interactions with owner/manager. Two thumbs up!!
What an AMAZING view! The pictures do not do justice for this beautiful home that sits above the charming village of Grand Lake. The floor plan is excellent for a family (6 adults and 2 kids for us) get together. The home is well equipped for even a gourmet chef. We highly recommend this property for you next visit to Grand County Colorado.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this stunning mountain retreat! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the impeccable attention to detail and design throughout the home.Everything felt fresh, pristine, and thoughtfully planned. Cleanliness was outstanding - the entire home was spotless from top to bottom. It’s clear that the hosts take great pride in maintaining their property to the highest standards. Would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a trip to Grand Lake. Thank you to our hosts for providing such a memorable experience!
Our family loves Grand Lake! We started traveling there about 11 years ago and renting homes. We have enjoyed it so much we decided to become part of this wonderful community.
