We’re so excited to share this special slice of heaven with you. Built from the ground up in 2022, Little Lake Effect is a true labor of love, thoughtfully designed to offer the authentic “cabin in the woods” experience—without sacrificing comfort.

Nestled in the heart of the Hiawatha National Forest and just minutes from Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, our cabin places you at the center of everything the Upper Peninsula has to offer. Whether you prefer slow mornings and peaceful days at the cabin or filling your schedule with adventure, your stay here is sure to be unforgettable.

Paddle across the private lake using one of our two provided kayaks, sip your morning coffee on the porch while taking in the serene views, or unwind by a crackling bonfire beneath one of the biggest, star-filled skies the U.P. has to offer. Step right out the front door to access hundreds of UTV, ATV, and snowmobile trails, enjoy vibrant fall color tours without ever leaving the property, or set off on day trips to Munising, Marquette, Grand Marais, and beyond.

While Little Lake Effect offers the peaceful seclusion of a true woodland retreat, you’ll enjoy all the comforts of home. The cabin features a fully stocked kitchen with standard appliances, washer and dryer, full bathroom, luxuriously comfortable bed linens and towels, WiFi, a smart TV, and everything you need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

We absolutely loved this cabin! It was beautiful, cozy, and thoughtfully done—attention to detail everywhere. Having a full kitchen and laundry made our longer stay really easy. Even though the cabins are fairly close, it still felt private and peaceful. Quiet nights, bright stars, and such a great view of the lake.We had tons of chances to explore with our pup and came during peak fall colors, which was stunning. The kayaks were awesome, and we even made a trip to Munising—downtown is super cute. Would 100% stay again and highly recommend!

This is a great little get away spot! It’s close enough to what you need, but also far enough from people. We brought our dogs and they had the time of their lives. Super clean and cute. Great communication from owners. We would love to stay again!

The property is as listed however I wish the listing had stated how close the neighbors are. Even after 10 miles of dirt road, to have neighbors in eyesight and easily heard it did takeaway a bit of the remote-ness I was looking for. Still overall great. The owners were very timely with their responses.

Perfect home base and escape from the city. We came in shoulder or off season (November) and it was very peaceful. Perfect spot for trailheads in Pictured Rocks.

Beautiful property right on a small lake. Easy check in/check out, amenities as described. Cute upper loft and nice fire pit. The internet wasn’t strong/consistent enough to work remotely, but it was fine for our needs. Very nice for a private option near Munising!

We loved the coziness of the cabin but felt the kitchen items were lacking somewhat. I realize there are limitations in size but it was somewhat difficult to prepare meals with such limited options of cookware, cutting board, foil, etc. We really enjoyed getting to know the area and would definitely return, some day❤️

Peaceful Getaway

The owners of this property thought of everything! The cabin had all amenities and was thoughtfully appointed. The quiet setting and peaceful lake made for a relaxing getaway. We cannot recommend this property highly enough! It's 30-minutes from Munising and the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Plenty of natural beauty all around - we took a cruise of Pictured Rocks, and enjoyed hiking, Lake Superior, and waterfall viewings.

Relaxing and Comfortable

The cabin was beautiful and had great amenities. The bedding was very cozy and the lake access can't be beat, so peaceful! Loved the fire pit and good size front porch. It's located close to 3 other cabins through the same owners. There was a fan in each room along with the ceiling fan to help stay cool. Had to provide own firewood. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
