Big Oak Farmhouse ~ TAMU 8 Miles

Experience true southern charm in this beautifully remodeled farmhouse just 8 miles from Texas A&M. Enjoy shiplap walls in every room, a vintage tin ceiling, leathered granite countertops, a farmhouse sink, new cabinets, and stainless steel appliances. This cozy 3-bedroom home blends rustic style with modern comfort. An easy drive to Kyle Field, restaurants, and grocery stores—perfect for game day, campus visits, or a peaceful country getaway.

This home comfortably sleeps 9 with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The front room features custom twin XL beds with barnwood accents and a pull-out XL trundle. The middle bedroom offers an iron queen bed, while the back room includes a handcrafted queen bed with tin and barnwood details, plus a unique 75x30 custom daybed inspired by Sundance's “Carla” bed. The living room has a twin sleeper sofa with a memory foam mattress. All bedding, pillows, and mattresses are brand new, with extras provided.

All mattresses are wrapped in protective covers and topped with quality mattress pads for added cleanliness and comfort. Bedding—including quilts, sheets, and blankets—was carefully selected to match the farmhouse charm of the home. Everything is in excellent condition. We take extra care to ensure all linens are fresh, clean, and well-maintained for every guest.

Guests have full access to the farmhouse and the yard directly surrounding it. While we live in the main house next door, your space is private and separate. We kindly ask that guests enjoy only the areas around the farmhouse and not enter or use the main house or its immediate surroundings.

Please note, there is an unfenced swimming pool on our side of the property. For safety reasons, children and pets should not be left unattended and must be supervised at all times while outdoors.

Guests enjoy a private stay with self check-in and check-out for convenience. We respect your privacy and will not interfere during your visit. However, we live next door and are usually home, so we’re nearby if you need anything or have questions. We’re happy to help while giving you the space to relax and enjoy your stay.

The home gets its namesake from the large oak trees on the property which add to the beauty of the surrounding countryside.

To add to the farmhouse experience, guests may gather fresh eggs for their breakfast from the charming chicken coup.

Enjoy a back yard BBQ or make a bonfire in the custom fire pit. Sit out on the large porch and plug in the outdoor lights. This home is situated just outside of town, offering serinity, but convenience to town for events, shopping, and good dining.

Big Oak Farmhouse is located 8 miles to TAMU Kyle Field. It is an easy drive to town.

Small events may be allowed but must be pre-approved in advance. A $500 event fee applies, and a limited number of guests is permitted. We have tables and chairs to seat 30, available upon request.

Please also note: the home is surrounded by open fields, so be mindful of local burn bans, especially when planning to use fireworks. Always check current regulations and use caution.
The Girls (Chickens): The girls love to share their eggs. You're welcome to enter the coup and gather eggs. Be sure to close the door behind you!

Fire Pit: There is wood for the fire pit under the cedar tree. Please return lighters to the kitchen drawer. One starter brick starts a fire.
