Nice, quiet location. House was well equipped. We didn’t use the kayaks as our friends on the island have plenty, but it’s a great option to have available. Loved our morning walks to say “hi” to the island deers. Would definitely stay again.
We enjoyed the property and the relaxed pace of the island. We enjoyed walking around the island, looking at the houses, feeding the deer, and visiting the beaches. We did have some issues with the ferry and we could not find the single person kayak. But overall, a nice, relaxing visit.
The house was perfect. Everything you need is there. I would definitely go back.

Fun times for a family of four
Our family of four had a great stay on Heron Island. The cabin had plenty of space to relax & enjoy our time. The kids enjoyed having the whole upstairs to themselves, with 2 beds, their own bath, & a nice size TV to play some video games. The master was large, & we definitely utilized the laundry room & kitchen a few cooked meals.

Serene and cozy
If you want peace and quiet, take a few days to unwind here. Bring plenty of groceries and don’t forget the hot tea and maybe your favorite mug. You’ll want warm beverages while you sit on the deck.
We really enjoyed our experience, though the description of sleeping capacity (6) should have clarified that the upstairs quarters where the Murphy bed is also houses a small futon in a very tight space. Maybe ok for 4 adults and 2 children, but not 6 adults.
Other than that, we enjoyed sharing our family gathering there (two of whom also have a cabin in the island).

Home Sweet Home
Had everything we needed. Beautiful peaceful island. Cabin was amazing. Dianne is so sweet. Had TV problems. She tried to fix, but being so remote to no avail. Enjoyed everything so much. Herron Island is magical. Nice people.
Live on the island. Met a few, on had 5 days. Wish I had a month. So comfortable. Thanks Dianne, the Brooks.
Has lots of room for large parties. Large deck. Home was clean. Very dated and in need of a full maintenance run through. Exterior lights not operational. No satellite for TV. Deck needs resurfacing, splintering all over, along with other smaller items.

Hi Adrianne, we're sorry to hear your stay did not meet your expectations. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the air conditioning issue. We promptly addressed this and had it fixed by the very next morning.
- We've gone ahead and replaced the towels and sheets, and we're also planning some additional minor renovations to enhance the overall experience.
- The satellite is not getting a signal because of the trees. To ensure complete transparency for future guests, we have removed the satellite mention from the listing.
Your review is greatly appreciated as it helps us improve, and we're dedicated to making necessary changes based on your feedback.

Well spent downtime at the cabin
This is our third year staying here. We enjoyed walking along the beach, but know the tide chart so you have beach to walk on as it can take a couple hours to walk around casually.Kayaks are available but this time we brought our own. Nice to have two full bathrooms. We were comfortable in the downstairs bedroom. Be prepared to stay on the island for the duration of your stay, or plan far ahead to account for the ferry off and back on the island. Get in line early. Very nice people on the island. There is a Pickleball court in the center of the island which we used a couple days. The host is responsive to any questions and has a contact that lives on the island if anything is needed. We will stay here again.
Really enjoyed our stay on the island. Comfortable place. Liked having a choice of bedrooms (up or downstairs), and having two bathrooms. We made good use of the kayaks everyday, even when it rained one day. It was difficult to find all the kayak choices since many of the marking on the kayaks are wearing off. We also noted that the one garbage can outside was full when we arrived nd we really struggled to put our own trash in it the we left. It seems it should have been empty when we arrived. We enjoyed the evenings sitting on the deck playing cards, and games, and relaxing. We also found the dryer full and washed bedding and towels. Whoever comes to clean the place in-between renters must have missed emptying the dryer. Thanks for a great stay. We would like to stay again next year.

Liked: Location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Cleanliness
Our stay was okay, though not super great. For starters theres always a long wait for the ferry. It holds like 8 cars maybe. The house was nice at first glance, but we definitely noticed pretty quick that things aren't that clean. I know the pillow cases in the downstairs bed weren't changed. Not only were they not changed, but they had big sweat stains, and other crusty stains ALL over them. These were surface stains. Not set in, washed stains. The upstairs bathroom had a crusty stiff towel on the counter. Things could use some updating and more attention. The house was pretty dusty and cobwebby. It just seemed like the very bare minimum gets done between guests. On top of that there were just a hundred minor inconveniences. Most places we stay are very well stocked with daily kitchen tools and entertainment. Off the top of my head, there were no scissors, no can opener, no coffee filters for that coffee maker(no store on island). No decent cutting board. Just a small plastic rectangle that belongs in the trash. There are no blinds or curtains downstairs in the living or dining room. We definitely felt on display to the neighbors all night. Safety wise, there are five ports for smoke detectors but not one smoke detector was there. Add on to that, the coffee maker we learned as we were leaving doesn't turn off automatically and the light on it doesn't work. You don't know if it's on or off. It was on overnight at one point.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback about your stay. We’re very sorry that you experienced these issues, which should not have occurred during your visit. We will share your comments with the property managers to ensure improvements are made and to help provide a better experience for future guests. Regarding the ferry, unfortunately, we do not have control over the service. As owners, we experience similar challenges when using it ourselves and understand how frustrating it can be. Thank you again for your feedback—it is valuable to us and helps us continue working toward a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for all our guests.
Small comfortable home. Not a lot of room to stretch out but everything works well and is perfect for the price. The beach access is lovely and it's so nice to walk where there is no traffic. Be prepared for the days it rains. No internet and minimal channels on Dish but there is a Free Little Library across the street to take a book and read. A true getaway. Restorative. Birds will wake you up and it's fun to see the deer. No deer food this time. Enjoy
This rental served as a perfect retreat for us while we worked on our rental house. We had very relaxing evenings which we definitely looked forward to. The house was perfect in every way.. It is immaculate and had everything a rental needs and all of this plus watching the beautiful deer made this a very enjoyable stay. Without question we would definitely return.
The hosts were great with communication, sent excellent, thorough instructions, and were responsive to our only trouble while at the home.
The island is charming and friendly, with great character.
The house is super cute!
We came to the island house for our anniversary trip. The check in process was ez and the house was clean and well stocked . We had a great weekend relaxing , walking the Island and feeding the local deer.
Comfy cabin, with lots of amenities. Island is only 1.25 miles long. Easy walk with lots to see!! The deer are soo friendly they eat out of your hand & let u pet them.I would definitely stay here again.
We had a wonderful trip to Herron island and we're so pleased with this vrbo. All the instructions, including how to use the ferry, we're helpful and clear. The home was cozy and clean. Out kids especially loved the little pirate themed park next to the home! We would definitely stay again! Our only (very minor!) complaint is that the dryer is very loud. I had intended to dry a load of clothes after the kids went to bed but it was too noisy. Very grateful for this peaceful retreat, thanks!
This property was perfect for our small family. It had everything needed - from kitchenware to extra blankets, it had it all. Loved the detailed instructions from Dianne & Adam ahead of our stay (even though we were familiar with the island and ferry process I think this is super important for the guests!). Everything was wonderful and would not hesitate to stay again!
We loved staying here, I highly recommend this place to others. The home was nice and clean, there was no smell. The beds were comfy and nice. The laundry and the kitchen areas were nice and the deer came up to us and we were able to feed them.
There was also special food for the deer that was provided and there was a folder with the instructions on how to use the property. Thank you again. Great job.

Clean, spacious , comfortable place
We stayed here over the Memorial day weekend and enjoyed our stay. Our friends stayed across the street, water front, so it gave us good perspective.
So the only minus of this place is - no beach access and no view of the water. If its important to you than don't rent it. Everything else was great. It was clean and roomy and comfy. The lawn up front and attached wooded area is perfect for playing games and kids. Kitchen was fully stocked. Teflon frying pans can be replaced, maybe with stainless steel so they don't get scratched up that easily. Bedrooms comfy and heaters worked great. Front deck is extensive and very nice. Deer came by daily to visit. We walked over to North Beach and used kayaks too. All in all it was a great weekend.

Perfect place!
This is our second time in this cabin in only a one month period. We absolutely fell in love with this special place and this beautiful island. The cabin was the perfect size for my family of five. We most enjoyed kayaking, relaxing on the beach, watching for dolphins, and feeding and naming all of the deer. Can't wait to come back.

Cozy, relaxing, and rejuvenating.
This was the perfect place for me and my 10-year-old son to have a boys’ weekend. Feeding the deer was a highlight and a perfect view of the stars and the lunar eclipse.
