Tucked away in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains, this brand-new contemporary cabin is the perfect blend of modern comfort and mountain serenity. Whether you're craving a romantic weekend, a family getaway, or an adventure-filled escape, Rocky Creek Retreat delivers it all.
Inside, you'll be greeted by soaring ceilings, a wall of windows, and a bright, open living space. The cozy gas fireplace sets the mood while the fully stocked kitchen invites you to whip up your favorite meal. With 3 bedrooms, including a main-floor suite and two additional bedrooms on the lower level, there's space to spread out and get comfy. The spacious dual-level deck gives you room to unwind, grill, and soak up the mountain air.
Play a game of shuffleboard in the storage garage, or head outside and play a game of corn hole in the driveway. Next door are sports courts where you can have fun challenging each other to a friendly game of pickleball or 1/2 court basketball. We have sports equipment for the courts that you are welcome to use during your stay! The lower level console is also equipped with board games, cards and puzzles suitable for various ages.
Guests can enjoy access to the New River State Park, just a short drive away from the home.
Nearby must see attractions include: Ashe County Cheese - see cheese being made and enjoy delicious ice cream! (30 minutes away!) Molly Chomper Cidery (30 minutes away!) Ashe County Farmers Market every Saturday from 8am to 1pm from April to October! Mount Jefferson State Park - great place for family photos. Stunning views! (35 minutes away) Old Barn Winery - Live music, food trucks, perfect atmosphere! (35 minutes away!) Thistle Meadow Winery – mid April through December (18 minutes) Saloon Studios - 19th century inspired Western town featuring live music, Civil War presentations, and music festivals (35 minutes away!) Enjoy a sunny day on the New River using Riverside Canoe and Tubing (11 minutes away!) or Zaloo's Canoes, Kayaks, and Tubes (32 minutes away). Public put-in locations are nearby, as well for those bringing their own kayaks! Blue Ridge Parkway/Doughton Park access through Sparta – 30 minutes. For all other Parkway areas, please check for closures. Take a day trip to Abingdon to bike the Virginia Creeper Trail (Abingdon to Damascus) or attend a performance at the Barter Theater (70 minutes)
Additional notes: - CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 30+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 15-29 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 14 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee. - Please note that the garage game room is currently un-heated. Guests will have access to a space heater for cooler months. - All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. Towels and linens will be provided - Check in is after 4pm and check out is by 10am - This home is not pet friendly. Thank you for not bringing pets into this home. - Flat, gravel parking area for up to 4 small/medium vehicles - Returning guests to this home may receive a 5% discount off the rent (not to be stacked with other discounts). - The roads leading to this home are gravel and easy to navigate year-round. During the winter months and/or in times of inclement weather (snow or ice) guests are expected to be prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle. Chains may also be necessary. - Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent. - Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates. - No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home. - Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook. - No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable. - Please note that the distances shown on VRBO's map feature are measured in a straight line rather than actual road travel distances and times. We cannot change their setting for this, and encourage all guests to independently verify distances to desired destinations.
