Welcome to the Modern Desert Roots Retreat — where guests say they came for Joshua Tree National Park but ended up staying in the house instead. Our solar-passive home blends modern design with the raw beauty of the Mojave, offering panoramic desert views, wide open skies, and unforgettable stargazing nights that make the property a destination in itself.
Designed for light lovers, the house has no window coverings — so expect to wake with the sunrise and watch every sunset fade into star-filled skies. Cool off with AC and Wi-Fi indoors, or step outside to enjoy the cowboy tub and desert breeze. While the outdoor area has little shade during the day, mornings and evenings are perfect for relaxing outside. A serene bedroom, bright living space, and full kitchen provide comfort for both short getaways and longer stays.
We’re just 25 minutes from Joshua Tree’s North Entrance in Twentynine Palms, close enough for park adventures yet tucked away for peace and quiet.

• Please check out by 11:00 a.m.
• Place all trash in the kitchen trash bin.
• Close all windows and doors.
• Set the A/C to 78°F.
• Lock the doors when you leave.
• Double-check for any personal items.
• Used towels: please either leave them on the bathroom floor or place them in the washing machine (no need to run it).
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
