Coffee drip machine had moldy filter and coffee left in it and water reservoir was discusting. We bought vinegar to clean but so clogged could not use, had to clean kurag machine and get more pods. Had trouble getting oven to light, finally got it, instructions would have been nice in all areas!
Home pretty much secluded, very private.pet friendly and surrounded by an Amish community. It was what we were looking for. Most of the time we were sightseeing and enjoying beautiful places in Upstate N.Y. So the home was kinda nice and fitting for us.
We stayed at Bear Creek Haven with our dog. It truly is a haven. The property is beautiful and peaceful. I recommend arriving in daylight, as it is a little hard to find in the dark until you know where you are going. The back deck with an Adirondack glider was awesome. Brianna has done a great job decorating and anticipating what visitors will need.

The place was comfortable enough. We really enjoyed the rockers on the back deck. The fridge was in an odd location. But I am here to report that we were pretty horrified when we stripped the bed sheets at the end of our stay, as instructed, and found bright red blood stains on the mattress! The bed did not even have a mattress pad or protector of any kind, which was very odd.
The cabin was not serviced fully upon our arrival. Hundreds of dead bugs in the kitchen. Left within one hour of arrival. Did not hear from host when reaching out to resolve
Our first two nights were cold, but fine. There were some quirks with the cabin, but it was fine. Some cobwebs, no top sheets on the beds, (I really hope she washes the comforters every time...), heaters in the bedrooms weren't working, and a REALLY slow coffeemaker. The oven was really difficult to start. And some bugs can be expected in a cabin in the woods. But on the third night, the power went out. We called Brianna and she instructed us how to get it running again. But it kept going out. We spent another cold night and woke up to mice droppings everywhere. I'm so glad I didn't know about the mattress stains until we stripped the beds on the last day. Pretty expensive for a gross stay.
The property was beautiful, the cabin was perfect for our larger group. We had plenty of space so when it rained all day Saturday we were not on top of eachother. We love the decor/rustic feeling. The back porch was beyond perfect and relaxing. The availability of bikes turned out to be perfect for the older kids who decided not to bring theirs from home. The cabin is secluded and far out enough that you truly feel like your alone on the woods and that to us was very welcomed. We did have one bigger issue throughout the trip/one small issue at check out -1. Believe we ran out of propane the last full day. The refrigerator stopped working as well as the hot water which are both ran on propane. I contacted the host but she was out of state and unable to send help. So we had to go get ice and put everything in a cooler, and the muddy children had to be wiped down with cold water and no one was able to shower for the last 18 plus hours of our trip. 2.like others have said, there are no mattress cover/protectors so the mattress in the master bedroom does have several larger old dried blood stains on it that were discovered when we stripped the beds at checkout. Other than that, the cabin was incredible and we will definitely come back!
