This house and surroundings are a serene and quiet oasis. If you are a party of ten guys on golf outing, not for you. If you are 10 gals on a bachelorette excursion, not for you. It is great for multi generational family gatherings where every one can have their own spaces and relax and enjoy all the local amenities, Then have the fishing and kayaking on a beautiful, peaceful 175 acre "pond". A recent guest caught bass, catfish, white perch, yellow perch and blue gills.
Swimming in the pond is only feasible from kayaks away from dock area as shore is silty and mucky. Also, depending on rainfall and heat there can be a fair amount of algae near dock area.

Two adults and two kids and we loved this home. All the details were really wonderful, the beds were comfortable, it was a quiet neighborhood the was close to everything between Lewes and Milton. The lake was very peaceful and the gardens were just coming into bloom. Parking is a little tight and the spiral stairs took some getting used to, but we would highly recommend this home.
I cant say enough about the property or host, my whole family loves vacationing here (this was our 2nd visit) and even the dogs dont want to leave at the end of the week!
What a great house in a peaceful spot on the lake. East access to the beaches and plenty to do around the house. Brilliant space to spend time with the family and Bob was super helpful throughout.
Lovely and interesting home that mixes lake access and a short drive to ocean and bay beaches. The nearby towns of Lewes and Rehoboth are full of activities, but staying at this property with its wild gardens and green space provides a quiet home base.
Calming, beautiful retreat on the Red Mill Pond. Had everything we could need or want, including a set of canoes and kayaks. My husband and dogs loved every minute.
We had such a wonderful time at this lakefront Delaware rental. The house and property is gorgeous! Family caught lots of fish in the pond and a short trip to the beaches. Perfect!
Perfect location. Beautiful gardens, the lake for fishing, close enough to the beach and boardwalk if that's more your thing. We saw birds and turtles on the lake. Having access to the kayaks was wonderful. We had a lovely stay. Highly recommend if you're looking for a private, peaceful option.
This is a lovely property, very quiet and feels secluded yet close to so many things - grocery stores, beaches, wineries, restaurants, breweries, nature preserves. The host was wonderful in their communication and very easy to work with. Our dogs loved the yard and we greatly appreciated the owners leaving fresh bowls of water for their arrival. This house had the most well-stocked kitchen of any Vrbo I’ve stayed in, with coffee pots, tea kettles, a beautiful stove, plenty of dishes and kitchenware. There were lots of board games, tons or books, kayaks, canoes and comfy beds and bedding. We enjoyed the quiet of the yard and the peacefulness of kayaking and canoeing on the pond. As they mention, there are spiral staircases jbut also a regular set of stairs outside leading to the second floor. This wasn’t a problem for our dogs. We stayed with our adult children and pets.
We are in love with this property. Everything has been amazing so far. Bob has been wonderful with communication and so flexible when we had to cancel and reschedule. It is so peaceful here. The beds are comfortable. The weather is perfect. We felt immediately at home when we arrived. Cannot praise enough! Will definitely come back!! :)
Bob has a very beautiful home and when you stay here you know that you're staying in a home that has a lot of love and care in it. The listing is very accurate and the view of the pond is amazing.
One thing to note, Bob does not supply towels so make sure you bring your own. Thank you Bob!
If you’re looking to spend a vacation in serenity this is the place. It is filled with beautiful views, tons of books and amazing natural light. This home is very warm & inviting. The spiral staircase does take a little getting used to, but definitely adds to the charm. Every floor has a bathroom which is very convenient. The property has 2 kayaks & 2 canoe along with life vests and bikes. Property is fenced in and our doggos had a great time. The driveway can fit upto 3 cars but there are overgrown foliage which makes it a bit difficult to park. If there is anyone using a walker, plz note that the driveway is all gravel and might be difficult to walk on to the property. There are many things to enjoy arnd Milton. Most beaches & shopping is around with 5-7 miles. Bob is a wonderful host and very reachable with any questions or concerns.
This house is in a great location within 15 minutes of Lewes and Rehoboth beaches. It is in a quiet neighborhood with a water view of Red Mill Pond, on a gorgeous property. The house itself is well apportioned with everything you need. The house was clean and well maintained. The owner was accomodating and pleasant. The only downside we found were the spiral staircases which, while beautiful to look at, could be difficult to navigate for some. Overall we'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
House is lovely, decor is warm and inviting. I always cook on my vacation and was happy that the house had everything you need to prepare big meals. The yard is out of this world spectacular. You just have to see the gardens to believe them. Beautiful view of the water. Loved the kayaks and canoe provided.
Location is so convenient to the various Delaware beaches. Owner was very responsive to questions. Overall a fabulous house. Will rent again.
The property grounds were so beautiful because of all the plants and flowers. Our dog loved running around and exploring the large yard. We brought our kayaks and it was easy to launch from the dock. The house was as described and appliances, etc. were in working order. The kitchen had everything we needed. The house is on a quiet street but just a short drive to Lewes and the bay beach. The dining table was big enough to play games on. We loved that there wasn't a TV in the main living room.
Wow! What a magical place. An adorable house with a water view and direct access. The owners have all of the things you would need to enjoy a week or more. The location is very close to the the states best biking park, Cape Henelopen and the Ferry in historic Lewes. Multiple bathrooms with showers on each floor. Extremely spacious house with room to stretch out and read a book with a cup of coffee. Multiple wrap around decks to peak through the trees at a pond about the size of a lake. There is a spiral stair case that you can quickly negotiate up and down floors but there is also a smartly built set of stairs on the side of the house for brining in luggage. Our dog was able to use the the enormous fenced in yard while my kids fished off the dock catching Blue Gills and 1 Channel Catfish. The owners left us fishing gear, bikes, beach gear, towels and virtually anything else you might need to enjoy Coastal Delaware. Just 20 minutes to Rehoboth and even closer to the outlets and tons of restaurants. We were also near several nice golf courses that my son and I played. Finally, there were amenities that just made your stay that much more modern. A washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave, blender, central air throughout the house and Wifi. Our family thought Coastal Delaware was nice, but the house was a 10/10!
This was my first rental experience, so I was nervous about the process, however the homeowners had everything so well organized, were extremely clear with instructions and were always accessible. We brought our Great Pyrenees with us and when we entered the multi-level home, the owners had laid out several bowls of water for our dog on each floor. The gorgeously kept and fenced backyard allowed us to let our dog run free and enjoy a lot of room to play in. As a recommendation, if you're going to venture far and have brought your dog, there are some great boarding facilities or dog daycares nearby in which to board your dog for a day or two. Our's spent two days at Jungle Jim's so we could spend an entire day in D.C. and then Ocean City. At night, the fire pit was great for smore-making. The owners even provided kayaks and a canoe to paddle in the nearby pond.
The house itself is very clean, has beautiful artwork, and feels like home. I've never been more relaxed. We slept in the very comfortable loft, while my son and his wife slept in the first floor queen. There are plenty of blankets and throws to use when you're sitting in the TV room, watching the tube or playing board games with family. Both bedrooms have balconies to allow lovely views of the surrounding area.
Aside from buying groceries, there wasn't a single thing we needed that the home owners hadn't provided. Even down to the grill, all utensils and accessories are at your fingertips.
To add as a side, this home is within easy distance to absolutely everything. Beaches, wildlife refuges, Washington, Baltimore, Ocean City etc. I have nothing, but fantastic things to say about this property and its owners and I hope my family can visit again very soon.
We enjoyed a wonderful weekend visit with family and loved the beautiful views of the pond! The house is tucked away and offers maximum privacy while being a short drive to everything. We spent time on Rehoboth Ave, quaint downtown Lewes, and took in the Milton Holiday Market nearby. Bob was attentive and we had great communication before and during our stay - the consummate host! Description of the house is spot on and it’s a rare treasure.
It was a wonderful experience. This place is convenient to the Beaches and DFH. The (mostly) native plant yard, for us, was a most unexpected treat. I’m sure it is even nice in early spring and summer. The spiral staircase is, well, it’s a spiral staircase, be prepared. I can imagine it could be tricky for some, especially the 10th time you go up and down that day.
We loved it and would gladly rent it again.
An extraordinary house tucked into an ordinary neighborhood, convenient to beaches, restaurants and nature. Beautiful gardens, lawn and lakefront right outside the door. Spacious, well-equipped, great furnishings.
Loved this home ! Beautiful setting huge yard and so much more. Bob was very easy to communicate to. We enjoyed our vacation stay and would recommend this home to friends. (Spiral staircase was fine for us)
Probably the nicest vacation home we have ever stayed in. Absolutely everything you need or want to make it feel like home. Great for people with dogs that can climb stairs...ours can! Beautiful fenced in yard. Lovely gardens, a great Weber grill, canoes, kyacks, etc.
Great communication with owner. We would love to come back!
