A lovely rustic cottage with all the modern conveniences
Our 2 bed roomed cottage is situated in a quiet street but conveniently located to hotels, shops and the train station. There is a queen bed in one room and two singles in the 2nd bedroom. There is a lovely open plan living area overlooking the native garden. Outside is a covered verandah with barbecue for those beautiful SA nights. Gawler is located close to the Barossa and Freeling where the hit series McLeod Daughters was filmed. We even have some furniture from the series in the house. People who have stayed here love the fully equipped kitchen. There is off street parking and split system air conditioning to keep you comfortable all year round.

The property was a pleasant surprise. It was clean and the hosts have provided everything you could need plus more. They have thought of everything. We had 2 small dogs and the place was dog friendly and secure. Location was good
A wonderful property, well looked after with much more charm & comfort than we were expecting! Pictures don’t do it justice! Beautiful pet-friendly rustic cottage, and great communication with the owner! Felt at home the entire time! Will happily choose this place again for future return visits!
Loved it. Peaceful mostly. Well presented and laid out. We have family a few hundred metres up the road and they know some of the history of the property.
Overall excellence. We have been extremely comfortable, our home away from home. We have not wanted for anything. Very clean and tidy. Thanks to Kirsten for the lovely welcome gifts. We recommend this home stay.

Sparkling clean and very comfortable
We loved staying in this cosy house. It was comfortable and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the treats and breakfast too, although would have loved a less sweet wine. Would highly recommend.

About the host
Hosted by Kirsten Whisson
My husband and I have been welcoming people wanting fully furnished accommodation for over 10 years. We have accomodated travellers looking for a base to explore the Barossa Valley, people working in the area, movie production staff, people coming to Gawler for an event such as a wedding (have even had it used for wedding photos) and even for people who were going through a rocky period in their marriage. We both work full time, Warren as a teacher and me as a Podiatrist. We have 3 sons who seem to have caught our travel bug with one currently living in Norway and the other one cycling around Europe. Warren and I have travelled extensively and usually choose some kind of adventure travel. I have walked the Kokoda track and Warren has cycled the Gibb River Road as 2 examples. We look forward to welcoming you to our property and like to make your time there as comfortable as possible. We always welcome feedback as to how we can improve your time at Rustic on 13th.
Why they chose this property
You won't be disappointed when you choose Rustic on 13th. We are only the second owners and it was lovingly built by Rex Earl Roy who designed every inch of it and built it all himself refusing help from anyone. When we first saw it we decided it was too beautiful not to share with more people so decided to set it up as a fully furnished cottage. The location is quiet with off street parking. Comfortable beds and easy open plan living. Fully equipped kitchen yet within walking distance to the many cafes, hotels and restaurants that Gawler has to offer.
What makes this property unique
There is a lot of pink which Rex chose and we have decided to keep it as it is very calming. You can sit on the front verandah and listen to the birds. There is an undercover area out the back which has an electric BBQ for you to cook up a storm on.
