We had the best time exploring this beautiful property, fishing in the pond, a relaxing on the back porch. Our toddler loved the playground and I love love loved the awesome bathtub! We had a wonderful time and look forward to visiting soon. April and Ryan were easy to communicate with and provide everything needed for a great stay! Sheryl is one property over, and is a delight to visit with!
We had a wonderful stay at the Briar Patch. The cabin is beautiful, comfortable and had everything we could need. The owners were available and very helpful.
The cabin was well stocked with needed supplies. Very roomy for our family of 4 and our dog. Everything was clean! The hosts were very nice and welcoming. We rrally enjoyed our stay and hope to stay here again soon!
We have stayed in several cabins, and this one is the best. It was so cozy and quite, and we enjoyed the outside fire pit and the property. Most of all , we enjoyed the fire place. We would love to go back.

It was a Beautiful setting. Cabin was super clean. Hosts provide lots of extras such as fishing pond, horseshoes, corn hole, fire pit and nice play set for the kids. The covered porch was great. We had a relaxing time.
This was our 2nd time staying in this beautiful cabin.
The cabin is clean, well built and perfectly tucked in a
story book forest.
The property is beautiful as well, as is the pond. We have caught fish both years and had fun soaking in the scenery.
We enjoyed the peace, slower pace, the kids had a blast fishing and loved the tire swing!
We had a great time. While this was supposed to be a mom and dad only trip it quickly turned into a family trip! The hosts were completely understanding. The kids had a great time fishing and we enjoyed playing games inside when it when snowed outside or slushed.
The house was ideal for our family of 4. We have 2 kids under 8 who enjoyed fishing at the stock pond, hiking around the property, and playing on the playset. The porch swing and large back deck made for relaxing viewing areas for the parents!
Being north of the Hochatown made the stay peaceful. We were able travel further north to the scenic drives and trailheads to hike. The property owners/hosts were gracious and stopped by to check on us and say hello during our stay. It was a great experience and we plan to go back!
I wish we could have stayed longer but we had to go to help with a family situation. These are some of the nicest and most accommodating owners I have ever met. They went above and beyond to help us feel right at home. If you haven’t ever stayed with them you haven’t stayed with the best! We will definitely be going back as soon as we can! Thanks again Ryan and April!!!!!
This is a cute little place surrounded by nature. It was enjoyable to sit outside by the fire pit or on the patio. It is well kept and clean with all the little things one would need for a quick get away.
My only caution would be someone with problems ascending or descending stairs. There are stairs to get into the cabin, upstairs (of course) and off the back patio. The back door was difficult to open, too.
The cabin is equipped with outdoor games, too, which was a fun surprise. All in all, a great weekend away.
Briar Patch cabin was absolutely beautiful! Everything was exactly as shown in the pictures online. We cooked and ate out on the back patio and around the fire pit and made smores at the fire pit as well. The view was beautiful! They have a tire swing amongst all the tall beautiful trees, that our daughter loved! There is a short walk to the pond, where myself and our kids caught our first fish! {catch and release}. Like most people we have a busy life and it was nice to sit and enjoy the view and listen to the birds and frogs :) The owners are very friendly and we would certainly love to go back one day! Thank you Ryan and April for sharing your little slice of heaven on earth :)
This is a beautiful, well-maintained property that served as the perfect location for a family getaway to celebrate my daughter’s sixteenth birthday. Ryan was wonderfully helpful and made sure all our needs were met. He even stopped by after a long day to chop some wood to ensure the kids could make a fire. The cabin was incredibly clean and had everything we needed from kitchen utensils to extra blankets. The instant water heater was wonderful for hot baths in the spa tub and (just because another review mentioned it) there was no smell to the water. It was perfectly fine! We also had wonderful cell service the entire time we were there so we didn’t have any trouble using GPS to find the place (something else another reviewer mentioned). This truly is the perfect getaway! I cannot say enough wonderful things about it. Thank you, Ryan and April, for the wonderful memories with my family!
We enjoyed our stay at the Briar Patch! Owners were really friendly, the outdoor activities around the cabin were perfect for the kids! Tons of wooded area to explore, nice pond with lots of small fish, private playground, cornhole and horseshoes! My 5 year old caught his very first fish here and about 10 more after that! Too small to keep, but great for kids! Cabin was clean and very well equipped with everything you could need apart from food, drinks, and your personal items! I definitely recommend bringing some food to cook because it is a ways from any restaurants! There’s a gas station at the intersection and another gas station and a dollar general a couple min away but we didn’t see anything else nearby! We brought food to cook so this wasn’t a problem for us. During the day we explored the area and then it was nice to come back to the cabin, let the kids fish, play, have a nice fire and wind down with a movie after! Things we did in the area: Cossatot River State Park in Arkansas (a little far out but not crowded at all unlike Broken Bow can get and we loved it!) Talimena Scenic Byway (Beautiful drive and if you do this you HAVE to go to Heavener, OK and eat at the Southern Belle restaurant, it’s a train car turned restaurant and the food is phenomenal!) while in Heavener we also did the Runestone Trail and it was really nice! Ryan, the owner, told us about a creek up the road and we checked that out on our last day and it was really nice! We had a great time, thank u!
The owners are extremely welcoming and sweet, they came by and introduced themselves. The cabin was stocked with everything we could possibly need and our boys loved every minute of it. We will be coming back soon!
