About this property
Quiet, rustic cabin on East Twin Lake near St. Helen, Michigan
A perfect getaway for family and friends! Enjoy a quiet vacation on East Twin Lake in a cabin with everything you will need to relax and have fun. The cabin has 265 feet of shoreline with a sandy beach and dock. Swimming by the dock is great with a sandy bottom. Take a canoe or kayak out to the island or on a cruise around the lake. Some life jackets are provided. The kids (and some adults) will also enjoy hanging out in the tree house and swinging. Enjoy a campfire on the beach each night while watching the sunset.
Across the lake is state forest with plenty of trails for your 4-wheelers and dirt bikes. In the winter, the snow mobile trails are easily accessible as well. Trails will take you to St. Helen and all of the trails available in the area. Fishing on the lake is fantastic. There are endless Bluegill and the occasional Bass or Pike that can be caught right off the dock all summer long.
St. Helen, West Branch and Prudenville/Houghton Lake are all within about a 20 minute drive. Each town has restaurants and access to groceries and supplies.
The cabin will easily sleep 8-10 people. Three bedrooms have queen size beds and the fourth bedroom has bunk beds and a single. There is also a bed on the porch and a futon in the sunroom. There is one full bath and the second bathroom has a toilet and sink. At the bottom of the steps coming into the cabin is an outdoor foot wash. All linens and bath towels are provided. Please bring your own beach towels.
The kitchen is fully equipped including a coffee maker, toaster and blender. There is also a grill on the deck making it easy to cook out (propane included). Please note, there is no dishwasher. A washer and dryer is available. Please bring your own laundry soap.
There are plenty of games to play along with a huge Jenga set. There is one TV with a DVD/Blueray player. Wifi has been recently added along with a Smart TV. The lake is typically quiet with the occasional jet ski or fishing boat going by.
There are no boat rentals on the lake. Also, there is no boat launch area. However, across the lake there is a campground with a dirt area where you can get a fishing boat in the water.

About the host
Hosted by Michelle Brown
Two families bought Loon Lane Lodge in 2010 and have renovated it over the years. As our kids all have gotten older and busier with sports, we decided to rent the cabin in 2017 so others can enjoy this amazing, relaxing vacation spot.
What makes this property unique
The cabin features great view from the screened in porch. Loons, Bald Eagles and even swans swim by all summer long. The lake is smaller and not busy with loud speed boats. In 20 minutes you can be to civilization with grocery stores, restaurants and even an outlet mall.
