The host was wonderfully responsive and kind, checking in to be sure I had everything I needed. The cottage was tidy, comfortable, and just the right size for my visit. I especially loved the sunlight on the deck—perfect for morning tea. Would happily stay again.
We saw a deer and rabbit the first day there; the lake was great to swim in, just a five minute walk (or drive if the hill is too challenging); and there was a real sense of privacy. Very nice!
The property is basic - no wifi, but good cell service so we could use a hot spot. The beds were comfortable, the deck lovely, and the community delightful. It's a 5-minute drive from a few absolutely beautiful beaches around the 78-acre lake. The hosts are friendly and helpful.
Since the walls between the bedrooms are 3/4 high, noise travels.
One word..AMAZING!!! This is our second time visiting and we will be back again. Mohini was awesome with communicating, the cabin was spotless and the location was perfect for a nice family get together. Everyone enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the lake, some hiking and just all around fun with the kids and grandkids. Plenty of outdoor space and privacy for all!!!
Thanks Mohini and we will be scheduling our visit for next year soon!!!

nice week in July
The cottage was nice with a lovely deck and comfy outdoor seating. Lots of birds and a very private wooded yard. But the listing said wifi and there is none. Also an outdoor shower is in the listing but it is on side of house with no enclosure and does not work.
Host was very accommodating and a great communicator. Lake isn't as easily accessible as we thought. The walk through the blueberry field is all downhill and then uphill on return. Its a little hairy.
Cottage is as advertised. More lighting/brighter would be helpful. If you have scent sensitivity you may want to alert host. Linens were heavily scented and there was an air freshener of sorts that was very strong. The owner was apologetic and accommodating to my needs.
Overall a nice place and community. We made the vest of our rainy stay.
The cottage is in a nice location in the Berkshires. We flew in from out of state and were hoping for a few more items in the kitchen. Salt shaker was out of salt. Few other spices. Was some cooking spray. That was about it as far as food items provided. Few paper napkins and less than 1/2-roll of paper towels, so be sure to bring your own. Would suggest bringing/purchasing jugs of drinking water; the water smelled and tasted not good to us. There were pots and pans for cooking (although we only got 1 burner to work properly). Gas grill on deck was great (but no utensils for it). Fire pit was great (but only lighter we could find didn't work).
Enjoyed the yard and croquet set. Swing on porch was lovely. Beds were comfortable. Very quiet; great place to see stars, as it is so dark at night.
If you have any photosensitivity issues, know that if you turn on hot water in the kitchen or bathroom, the lights in both places start flickering.
I believe when I booked, the description mentioned that the cottage has wi-fi; it does not. I think they stopped having it this summer. The nearby clubhouse DOES have great wi-fi.
We appreciated Mohini's quick responses to questions/issues. The cottage was a nice getaway.
DO NOT RESERVE THIS AT THIS LOCATION. I FILED A COMPLAINT AND PURCHASE DISPUTE WITH VRBO.
This was the WORST experience I’ve ever had w/ a Vrbo property owner. The house is falsely advertised having “wireless internet” but isn’t equipped for wifi, hotspot service is inadequate. The host knew prior to my arrival I would be working online there and neglected to be honest about the house’s lack of wifi. The host is NOT UPFRONT about several problems w/ the house’s suitability for guests including an evident rodent infestation, electrical issues, filthy conditions. The host threatened to kick me out of the house because I travel w/ documented Emotional Support Pets (2 neutered siamese cats) a certification stating my housing and travel hold no restrictions w/ my valid ESP license. Although this property comes appears in Vrbo searches for ‘pet friendly’ listings. The host was inappropriate w/ me saying several times “I love you” which made me uncomfortable because the host also told me details about watching the last single female guest through the patio doors while the guest was unaware the host was onsite and this guest escalated the issue having her mother call the host to tell to demand they "stop checking in" on the guest. At check in the host and I agreed I was checking out early. 4 days after arriving I checkout out 16 days early. After leaving the host was unresponsive to calls and messages until Vrbo repeatedly contacted them to adjust my check out date, reluctantly they did so 1 day late refused to refund me for the 16 days I’m not staying at the property.
We stayed in this lovely cottage for a week, we enjoyed the peace and quiet and we enjoyed the fishing at the pond , we enjoyed the row boat and did some fishing . Bo and Ryan are the most wonderful people you will ever meet! I can’t wait to go back again!!!! You will NOT be disappointed!!!
Great place for brief get away. Limited cooking capacity and sulfur tainted water may be perceived drawbacks, but the cabin served our needs very well since we planned to enjoy the restaurant scene.
We enjoyed our stay, location was a nice away from it all.
Mohini was very nice to communicate with.

Quiet and full of nature
We stayed at Bacchus cottage in the Wildwood community for 4 nights in mid-September. Mohini was a very communicative host, which made our visit much easier. The best thing about the house is the large outdoor deck in the very private and quiet community with a lovely lake, hiking trails and multiple small beaches. Wild turkeys visited our backyard early one morning. We used the community laundry in the clubhouse basement, which worked well. The house has hot water and a fairly powerful shower. Downsides of our visit were that we couldn't initially locate sheets for the beds (Mohini helped with that!) and the well water that services the house has an unpleasant smell. The house's ceiling is open throughout the space so there is not much privacy in the 2 bedrooms.
I recommend that you pick up drinking water and grocery supplies before arriving at the house since the closest good grocery store is 30 minutes away. (There is a very small market 2 miles away that is open during the day).
My wife, my two sisters and I all stayed here and absolutely loved it. Our family had a cottage in the same community years ago, so it was great to be back. Mohini is a great host, very caring and very responsive to any questions and concerns. The property was gorgeous, private (which we were looking for) and had a beautiful, short walk to one of the beaches. My sisters loved the use of the kayaks. Do yourselves a favor and book this ASAP, as we are already looking for a longer stay next summer!
This cabin was perfectly suited to our family of four. We spent a lot of time on the lovely deck. The lake/beach is a short walk or drive and we went every day. The water is pristine and the swimming is excellent. Mo even had some kayaks and a boat that we could use.
The area is definitely away from it all.
But there is a state park nearby for some nice hikes.
And we took a day trip to Stockbridge, which was charming.
Mo is a pleasure to talk to and she is incredibly considerate. A wonderful host!
Highly recommended.
Cute, Rustic, convenient cottage with a Very Nice Host
This is a quirky, cute, cottage. My wife and I enjoyed staying here and will hopefully rebook next year. The best aspect of this cottage is probably the porch where my wife and I enjoyed coffee each morning and drinks at night. Host was super friendly and accommodating without disturbing our privacy.
We had a nice quiet time in this accommodation. The location was close to our family, which we could visit at any time.
The accommodation was clean. The area was very nice.
Mohini is amazing, she contacted us right away after booking to let us know all the ins and outs of the area. She asked about what we would like to do during our stay, and made it all possible. The cabin is exactly that, a lake cabin. All the essentials to have an amazing time. The walk to the lake is a fun little walk through the huckleberry trees on a nicely mowed path. The water was crystal clear and warm. The fishing was great with the provided kayaks and boat.
The patio was perfect for grilling (great bbq!) and visiting with family, I would highly recommend this property! Thank you Mohini! Tons of memories made in summer 2022!
This property met expectations. We were looking for a peaceful get away in the woods, and that is what we got. The Wildwood community is quiet, even on the weekends. Cranberry and Otter ponds do not get busy either. There were only a few other boats on the weekends.
The cottage had two small bedrooms (no ceilings so there is no privacy from noise), one with a full size bed, nightstand, bookshelf full of books, and 2 dressers. The other had a double and bunk beds and two small dressers. The closet for hanging clothes is in the dining area. The bathroom was nicely done (water pressure is not strong, except in the shower). The kitchen has no oven/stove, but she has small countertop electric 2 burner and oven large enough for a small chicken. Make sure to bring water, as the sulfur is strong, especially in the hot water.
The common room is very large with a sofa, chair and fireplace. It has 2 full sliding doors that open out to the large deck. Off the deck is a nice yard with a bit of a view thru the trees. We used the gas grill and the deck a lot.
Mohini was accessible and very accommodating. She is an excellent hostess. We would definitely come again.
We had such a great time at Mohini's property! She was kind and always available when we had any questions (like when we didn't know how to turn the lights on) and she was always prompt! I was so happy staying here and would definitely stay again!
We had a wonderful time staying in this cottage. The location is close to our family so we were able to visit with them. We fished in the lake, paddled a boat around the lake, saw wildlife at a distance. The cottage was clean and Mohini the owner was very friendly and accommodating! Even the neighbors were friendly and shared the best fishing spots with us. We would highly recommend this location and hope to stay again.
