Another Successful Family Vacation!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our third time staying at Mountain Getaway. We chose it initially because, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, everyone got their own personal space. Mountain Getaway is close to the local attractions - Timberline, Canaan Valley, the Wildlife Refuge. The house itself is clean and has plenty of space for your family. Wood is provided for the fireplace, and the hot tub is meticulously clean. Everyone at Best of Canaan was easy to work with and helpful.

Great location to get away from the summer heat. But there were not enough options to keep us occupied for a full week. 5 days would have been better for a family of 4 adults. There was hiking in Dolly Sods, a chairlift ride at Canaan Valley State Park, and some interesting shops, distilleries, and breweries in Davis and Thomas. Be aware that this property is next to the large gated community that has the lakes, kayaking, etc. but you do not have access. You can not even walk into the community as the gated is guarded 24/7.

What a wonderful time we had from walking trails, shopping, and the boys fishing.

The house was wonderful, but we all agreed that having a bathroom for all the bedrooms was the best. The beds were comfortable and the large dining room table led for great game evenings.

Great house

Great house. Clean. One minor hiccup, the hot water ran out after 1 shower. So our group had to space out our showers.

Very clean and comfortable, good location

Stayed here during a large snowstorm. The driveway and street were plowed multiple times per day. The garage came in very handy for keeping the car sheltered as well as our snowboards. Everything in the house is very well maintained, and the house was not beaten up at all. Many properties here have worn out carpet, but this house was in great shape. It's a flat 10 minute walk to the lodge. I would have given it 5 stars if it was a little closer.
