Quaint cottage near Charleston downtown. At the beginning of the stay, we realized the counter top microwave wasn't working. We contacted the concierge and they dispatched a replacement unit within 2 hours. Good, quiet, safe neighborhood. Walkable distance to some area restaurants. The property has central AC plus window AC units- so we could control the cooling of each room separately. We enjoyed our stay.

Overall this was an adequate place to stay. It was farther from the main Charleston downtown area than we expected. We had some issues with the hot water heater where it wasn’t able to function and then after a mid week reset was unable to sustain hot water for a shower. Concierge and owner seemed responsive just out of sync with one another.

We didn't know Charleston's neighborhoods when we booked, or we would have chosen differently. The listing photos are fairly accurate (the photo of the covered balcony belongs to the neighbor) overall, but the home felt very unkempt on arrival: broken valances and blinds, unswept floors, and vents with dirty filters and broken levers. The dining chairs were well worn and offered no support, and the coffee pot was missing its basket, which made a mess when we brewed coffee. It felt like a bait and switch, and not a good value for the money. When I told the management company, Duvet, they said they'd let maintenance know.We still enjoyed Charleston, but if these issues would bother you, choose another property.
