Quaint 2-bedroom cottage in Houghton Lake - quick walk to lake
Welcome to a family-friendly cottage just a short walk to the shores of Houghton Lake, The lovely property features 1 queen bed, 2 bunk beds, and 2 trundle beds, ensuring a comfortable stay for guests. With amenities like outdoor space, a firepit, large sectional and eat-in kitchen, you'll feel right at home. With a washer and dryer and full bathroom, the cottage also includes helpful extras like a hair dryer, fully stocked kitchen, and the ability to make a pot of coffee or use a coffee pod for added convenience. This is a single-story home.
Higgins Lake and the AuSable River are also just short drives away. There are wonderful hiking trails and beautiful parks and beaches in teh area as well as over 200 miles of ORV trails.
About the cottage: located on the east side of Houghton Lake, the road the cottage is on ends at the shore of Houghton Lake, Michigan's largest inland lake. A community dock is available at the public road end access to help with entering and exiting the lake. The 2-bedroom 1-bath cottage is an ideal stay to enjoy the four seasons of fun offered in the area and just a short stop from area lakes, rivers and ORV trails.
The driveway is long enough to accommodate a trailer or more than one car, but the driveway is just wide enough to accommodate one vehicle width.
Behind the house, you will find a great firepit area. In the shed on the back of the garage, you will find camping chairs, firewood and other items to help take advantage of the outdoor area.
The living room TV is a smart/Rodu TV, so you can sign in to your favorite streaming service with your personal log ins.
The dining area comfortably sits 8. The aqua Smeg refrigerator and toaster are the standout items in the fully-stocked kitchen. Discrete cabinet labels make items easy to find. Some spices are available for use, but you should plan on bringing anything you absolutely need for your meal preparation. You will find a mixer, grill, various mixing bowls, pans and baking pans as well as enough plates, bowls and utensils for everyone including child-sized dishes.
There are a variety of games available as well. This is the owner's vacation home that they make available for seasonal rental when they aren't using it.

There is an additional $100 fee and information required for a pet.
Lake:
Lake access: Located at the end of the street, the lake access is a public road end.
Road end lake access allows you to enter the lake for swimming, kayaking and to access boat.
There is no boat mooring or boat docking, but a community dock is available in the summer to help you get on and off boats.
There are several DNR boat launches nearby.
Restaurants: Numerous area restaurants are available just a short drive. Coffee shops and ice cream shops are also close by. A list with addresses is available in Guest Book.
Stores: Walmart is a short drive away as well as numerous party stores, gas stations and gift shops.
Day Trips: There are lots of great places within an hour or two drive including Traverse City, Mission Point (great place for wine tastings), AuSable River (great fishing and canoeing), Higgins Lake South Shore Beach, Grayling, Roscommon, Mackinac Island, Petoskey, Cheboygan and more.
