About this property
Hidden Beech at Sugarbush - 2 min to Mt Ellen
Hidden Beech is two minutes from Mt Ellen, tucked in the woods above German Flats – the road that connects Mt Ellen to Lincoln Peak at Sugarbush. It’s eclectic charm and laid back vibe come from years of being dialed in by people who love the space and have chosen to share it for the first time. From the sun warming the many plants framing the large window in the dining area to the comfy conversation space in front of the fire, this place has a storybook-cottage-with-a-hot-tub feel that can’t be faked or rushed.
Rustic Charm, Close to Everything
Hidden Beech features post-and-beam construction, with warm wood floors on the main level. The house sits on a large, cleared lot with the living spaces oriented to the southwest to capture all-day sun.
Wander out onto the deck off the main floor to enjoy the view of the top of Mt Ellen, with Upper FIS and Black Diamond on display and a piece of Rim Run visible above the trees. A staircase off the deck leads to the hot tub sitting on another deck, under the open sky.
The Living Spaces
The main floor is the primary living space, featuring a galley kitchen that flows into the dining area and then into the living room with its large propane fireplace insert. The kitchen is well-equipped for big breakfasts before the mountain, après-ski spreads, or casual family dinners.
The bedrooms are situated on the floors above and below the main floor. As you move through the house, hidden quirks like a mudroom off the landing on the downstairs staircase, or the loft above the living space, or the walkway that connects the ground floor primary bedroom to the hot tub deck reveal themselves, giving the place the feel of a big tree house.
Sleeping Arrangements:
Hidden Beech comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests in three bedrooms with additional sleeping space in the loft on a fold-flat futon:
Primary Suite (downstairs): A quiet space with a queen bed, a private door to a shared bathroom that includes a nice sauna, and a slider that opens onto a walkway to the hot tub. There is also a desk in case you need to attend to work during your stay, although that is not on our recommended activities list.
Bedroom Two (downstairs): On the lower level along with the primary, this room has two single beds.
Bedroom Three (second floor): The upstairs bedroom features a Queen bed under the eaves with a full bathroom across the hall.
Loft (second floor): The loft is a neat space at the end of the hallway past the bedroom overlooking the main living space. It has a TV and seating, including a futon with a quality mattress.
