Tucked along Maine’s iconic Midcoast, Georgetown offers a peaceful escape surrounded by its shoreline, scenic harbors, and the sweeping sands of Reid State Park—one of Maine’s most beloved beaches. The 770-acre park is noted for its sandy beaches and sand dunes—both rare in the state of Maine—as well as its rocky tidepools, salt marshes, and tidal lagoon. The town blends unspoiled natural beauty with a laid-back feel, perfect for exploring by foot, kayak, or simply soaking up the sea air.
Just over the bridge, the historic city of Bath, known as the “City of Ships” blends maritime charm with a walkable, vibrant downtown with local shops, waterfront dining, and the acclaimed Maine Maritime Museum. To the South, Phippsburg boasts dramatic coastal landscapes, including the sweeping beaches, walking trails, and historical forts of Popham Beach and Fort Popham. You’ll also find plenty of hiking trails and hidden coves. A short drive North takes you to Wiscasset, often called the "Prettiest Village in Maine," invites you to wander its antique shops, waterfront dining, and iconic lobster rolls at Red’s Eats! Just a short drive away, you'll find even more to explore—Harpswell with its scenic coves and quiet hiking trails, Brunswick, a vibrant college town with arts, dining, and farmers’ markets, and Freeport, home to LL Bean and a mix of outlet shopping and coastal charm. Whether you're after ocean breezes, lobster shacks, shopping, beach walks, or quiet drives along scenic backroads, this stretch of Maine offers a little of everything—authentic, relaxed, and unforgettable.
Whether you're here for quiet mornings with a view, afternoons at the beach, or exploring the charm of Midcoast Maine, Tidewater Retreat offers the perfect home base.
