Casita Juliet has it all for the single traveler or couple. Located on a quiet, downtown street and short walk to Taos Plaza. It is a one bedroom (Queen) little home with a well equipped kitchen, separate eating area, large living room. It is decorated in my style of antiques, art and whimsy. Casita Juliet has all appliances, dishes and kitchenware, towels and bedding in a charming intimate yet roomy little house. Ceiling fans in bedroom and living room as well as screened windows and door for summer visits. Electric baseboard heaters in all rooms insure cozy winter stays. It has two outdoor living areas and of course a ridiculous number of plants--a signature of mine...Washer/dryer in utility room. Although there are two homes on this property, both have a feeling of privacy with separate off street parking, garden and outdoor living spaces. Casita Juliet can also be combined with the main house 'Casa Madre' as a family compound for a larger group of up to 10. As with all of my properties Casita Juliet is pet friendly. $10 per night per dog to add at time of booking. Dog sheets provided for sofa and bed. Mutt mitts for clean up. Front area is fenced so your small dog can spend time with you on front patio/portal. I offer a generous 50% discount for stays over 30 days and $100 per pet fee per stay If Casita Juliet is booked for your dates, please look at vrbo 797997 (Casa Azul) or Vrbo 920144 (Casa Verde) which are also downtown one bedroom casitas. Please note Casita Juliet can be booked with Vrbo 482097 on the same property for larger groups.

Excellent location central to everything and close to the plaza. Quiet at night. Host was very responsive and flexible about allowing pets traveling with me. The tiny yard was great for quick doggy potty breaks. Great to have laundry in-unit and the heated mattress pad was a nice touch in winter.
Casita was cute and had everything I needed. I came with a pet and liked the fenced patio area

Liked: Location
The place is charming and has potentials. The sitting/TV room was buggy. During the day they were all over sunny window and at night flying around the table lamp and dead ones around on the front of window and floor which made me uncomfortable while watching TV. The dishes and coffee mugs needed some TLC, since they were chipped or cracked. I found no drinking water glass and had to use a heavy beer glass.last but not least for the duration of 10 days that I was staying there was only 2 small rolls of tp. which one of them already being used.

Thanks for information in your review.
It is early for any “bugs” and none have been reported but this is a strange weather year.
I am on the way to bug check and dish and mug inspection.
There were four drinking glasses on shelf in kitchen when I last cleaned.
I wish you had called me about toilet paper. All extra paper goods are in utility room off the closet.
We were in town to fish and explore, Casita Juliet was the perfect location for exploring in any direction, then coming back for grocery store or restaurant.
Great place. Close to Plaza and stuff and close to hiking.
This is a great location, It is close to the Plaza and all the other stuff Taos has to offer. Close to some great hikes also. Melissa is a great hostess. I highly recommend this Casita.
We really had a wonderful time at this place, it was so cute and homey. It was walking distance to shops and restaurants. We shopped and ate our way through town and we loved this was home base for two nights. Melissa was very responsive and recommended a great dinner spot. Would recommend

So glad you enjoyed Juliet for your romantic getaway! Private, fun decor and as you say great location. I'm glad you two had time to relax and enjoy my two outdoor seating areas surrounded by gardens.
We very much enjoyed our stay in Taos! The house was perfect; located in a quiet neighborhood; and had everything we needed. Our little pup really enjoyed the fenced in front porch area.
I had an 11-day stay in September. The kitchen was very well-equipped, I loved sitting on the patio (morning and evening), and bed was very comfortable. Overall very nice stay.

Some women collect shoes or husbands. I seem to collect houses! I love buying old adobes, renovating them, furnishing and decorating then turn them into hugely popular vacation rentals
Casita Juliet is my fifth home and has a wonderful story. This casita is part of a downtown compound and like the big house on the property (VRBO #482097) was in foreclosure for two years. I saw the potential of this property and am lucky enough to have a mother who at age 96 wanted to do something for me while she was still here to be part of it. I bought the two houses on this property in February 2013 and got to work. Casa Madre (the bigger house) was finished in June and has proven to be a very popular rental.
Casita Juliet while on the same property has a wonderful sense of privacy. It is separated from Casa Madre by two over the top garden areas, a latilla fence and has it's own private parking area. It is named for my dear friend Juliet who once lived there and is my garden helper and housekeeper.
I love all five of my properties, but Casita Juliet is very special to me.
Why they chose this property
As I said earlier I do love buying old adobes, bringing them back to life and making improvements along the way.
I fell in love with this property long before I bought it. I was friends with the owner and a fellow yard sale fanatic. When it came up for sale in a foreclosure I told my mom about it and as they say, the rest is history.
What makes this property unique
Casita Juliet is a 1000 sq. ft. complete little house for one person or a couple The remodel was fairly gruesome since it entailed removing the roof and raising the ceilings. The original ceilings were only a little over 6' and I'm 5'11' myself. Now the rooms are open and inviting, cozy, but not crowded, decorated with my antiques, art and sense of whimsy throughout. I saved what was charming and unique and repaired or replaced what was just not right or did not appeal to me.
The kitchen is small, but well equipped. There is a separate eating area, and a utility room with a washer/dryer.
There are two delightful, private outdoor areas under portals for dining or just relaxing. AND this property is just, a short walk to the downtown Plaza through a nice, historic neighborhood.
I am a plant lover and in summer Casita Juliet is a garden wonderland with in ground plants and flowering pots everywhere.
Another advantage to Casita Juliet is that combined with the main house Casa Madre and the Bunk House (so much fun!) this property can be a family compound and sleep 12.
It is also fenced and pet friendly for small dogs. $10 per night per dog to leave at departure. Dog sheets provided for sofa and bed and I ask guests to clean up outside.
Please note: even if my calendar shows a reservation for your requested dates, contact me. I have 11 listings on Vrbo a Everything from one and two bedroom apartments to one, two and three bedroom homes, condos and even family compounds. I can find a rental for you!!!
