About this property

Intermediate Lake Log Cabin w/AIR. Don't miss the fall Colors!

This rustic log cabin is the perfect northern Michigan retreat for you. It is rustic, yet clean and comfortable. It has a true 'up north' feel. The cabin sits on 203 feet of secluded frontage. Most of the opposite shoreline is undeveloped. You will enjoy beautiful views of the lake during the day and on those moonlit summer nights. The loons and eagles will be an added bonus.

In addition to the beautiful frontage, there are several championship golf courses, restaurants, wineries, and quaint shops nearby. Traverse City is just 40 minutes away and Charlevoix is only 20 minutes away.

Intermediate Lake is an all sports lake. The lake is seven miles long and offers excellent fishing for smallmouth, largemouth, walleye, pike and panfish. In addition, it offers great watersport activities. It is the southern most lake in the upper chain of lakes. We are located just around the bend in the lake on the south side. It's the quietest side of the lake and offers amazing colors in the fall. Due to the layout of the lake you can always find a calm spot to fish or play on windy days.

This property has a nice stable dock, lawn furniture, picnic table, and a fire pit. A row boat is available for guest use. We have a great beach area with lots of sand for the kids. The lake bottom is sandy with no weeks. The beach offers a gradual drop off. The bottom is 5' deep at the end of the dock (72 feet out). All in all, it offers great swimming for the kids. Sorry but pets are not allowed.

Also, we have a 15' Crestliner Canadian fishing boat with a 4 stroke 25hp engine available for rent. This boat is a fishing machine with scotty rod holders, live well, casting deck and many more great options. In addition, we have kayaks available to rent. Please ask about the details and pictures if interested in either of these.

Each year we surprise our guests with new updates. We have new couches for 2024.

Great location

We really enjoyed relaxing by the lake and spent more time than planned watching the boats pass by. It's a well maintained cabin with good beds, a decent kitchen, and a screened porch facing the lake. The warm sandy beach was a big plus.

Relaxing getaway!

Adorable log cabin in a private setting! We usually rent at different places every year but this year we came back here. This place has everything we love such as abundant wild life and great fishing! We really enjoyed our stay!

Great Place!

I only gave this 5 stars because 10 weren't available. The cabin was super clean, quiet and private. The owners were very nice easily accessible and wonderful to work with. If your looking for a Northern MI lake cabin this is the place to be! Can't wait to come back soon.

Absolutely Divine!

This property is so well done. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is it. Equipped kitchen, 3 BRs, extra blankets (thank you!), updates throughout, and a fabulous screened in patio, perfect for morning coffee. This is, by far, our favorite vacation home and we are already planning for next year!

Great lake cabin on Intermediate Lake

We had a great vacation 4th of July week. The cabin was very clean and well kept. The owners take great care of their property. The lot was large and very private with a large nice sandy beach. The dock was real nice and both the aluminum boat and rental boat were perfect for families who like to fish. The fishing was really good. We caught smallmouth, largemouth, bluegill and perch. The owners were very personable and attentive to any questions we had; great to work with. We would highly recommend this lake cabin!

Excellent Location

Location is nicely situated about 3 miles north of Bellaire just off M-88 directly across from boat launch. Spent a week golfing and fishing. Plenty of courses nearby to choose from. Caught 6 different species of fish but nothing big enough to write home about. Loved the fire pit at night. You could tell that the owners put a lot of TLC into their home and grounds. All in all a very memorable stay.

Relaxing fishing trip!

Nice home. Probably in need of minor updates. Owner was very responsive to questions, We had to supply our own bedding and towels. We were not aware that the home has a 36” wide shower stall only. We are all over 6 ft tall. Kind of a deal breaker for a return trip. Great Lake frontage, close to town. Overall a nice time! Slept well!

Perfect Summer Getaway - location, location, location...

We were looking for a beach house to spend a week kayaking, paddle boarding & hiking. This location was perfect. Great sandy beach, beautiful lake connected to the chain of lakes, close to Bellaire with great food & drinks and close to Glacial Hills (excellent and well-marked hiking trails). It's also the perfect spot to sit and read a book and relax. Tucked away right off of M-88 in a lovely location with plenty of space for our vehicle loaded with kayaks & bikes. Very private. The firepit at night was a real treat in the cool evenings and the moon over the lake from the end of the dock - well, it was just spectacular. Todd was responsive and provided clear instructions pre-visit and during our stay. The lake house was exactly as described, rustic (super charming) and extremely clean. I can't think of one thing I would change from this trip. We would love to visit again as our calendar allows.

BEAUTIFUL LAKESIDE CABIN

My wife and I stayed at Todd and Julie's cabin for a week. There were as many as six adults staying at any one time. It was spacious enough for all of us to relax in. The property is very quiet with a beautiful view of Intermediate Lake. There is a nice outdoor sitting area around a firepit. It was very clean with all the basic amenities. There is only one bathroom, and the hot water heater has a limited capacity. So some coordination is needed as far as shower use. There is no washer/dryer, but a laundromat is located close by in Bellaire. Although the cabin is somewhat secluded, Bellaire is just down the road. We enjoyed breakfast at The Lunch Box restaurant and coffee at M88 Morning Grind. Short's Brewery is very well known. A large Family Fare supermarket is within a few minutes' drive. Todd is an excellent communicator and promptly answered questions before and during our stay. I recommend this vacation cabin very highly for a family stay as well as for just adults who want a quiet, peaceful lakeside cabin experience.

Great get away

Enjoyed our time at this quaint log cabin. The location is awesome. Very private lakefront home. Just 3 miles from downtown Bellaire with cute shops , Shorts Brewery, great bakery, ice cream shop, etc. Just a 15 minute ride to Dockside Inn on Torch Lake. While fishing wasn’t great, there is a lot of water to fish in. The boat launch is right across the lake from the cabin. Todd was great to communicate with . We plan to return

Gorgeous view and property!

We had an amazing time at the cottage. The view of the lake is spectacular. Cottage has lakeview from back bedroom, living room, enclosed porch, dining room and kitchen! So relaxing to be able to watch the water throughout the day. There are so many amazing things about the cottage that I don't know where to start! The owners attention to detail is magnificent. A little shelf here, a hook there - so many places to "put" things which really is handy! The enclosed porch is phenomenal. Can sit and enjoy the water without worrying about bugs! The fire pit and set up is also out of this world. Dock is great. Beach is great. Everything so tastefully picked out! So close to Bellaire as well! Also, super private. The yard is just gorgeous, too! We would come back in a heartbeat. We just loved it and Todd is amazing to work with. He really made sure that we had everything that we needed. Can't recommend it enough!

We purchased this property in 2004. At the time, many would have torn it down. We rebuilt it from the ground up. We bought this with the intent of using it someday. While we rent it, most everything we take in is put back into updates of some kind. We constantly get compliments on our improvements. My wife and I do all the turn over and bookings as we take huge pride in the place.

Why they chose this property

The property is in a great location. Located just north of Bellaire in northwest Michigan is huge. Charleviox, Traverse City and Petoskey are all very close.

What makes this property unique

Peaceful, tranquil and private. It's like being in some remote setting in the Upper Peninsula. Due to to lack of cottages across the lake and south there is almost NO light pollution. The stars are incredible!
