SOME NOTES TO YOU BEFORE YOU BOOK:
— No parties
--Upon contacting me, please provide as much info as possible (such as the full names of all guests, ages, professions, how you know one another, plans for your stay, whether there will be any other visitors who aren't staying over). The more info the better, especially if you don't have any reviews and/or have a larger group.
-- This apartment has been lived in and loved which is appreciated by those who like some character; if you want a hotel-style immaculate space, this space may not be for you.
MORE ABOUT THE SPACE:
- The master bedroom has a wonderfully comfortable queen bed and the bedroom always stays cool and quiet since it's located far from the street and direct sunlight.
- The 2nd bedroom on the 2nd floor also has a wonderfully comfortable queen bed and a very comfortable sofabed. It's also removed from the street so it's very quiet, although it gets sunny due to its glass ceiling that has special tinting to block out some heat and light.
- Both bathrooms have spa-like showers and the master bath has a huge bathtub for 2 people. Its shower also functions as a steam room.
- The private roofdeck terrace with jacuzzi, BBQ, dining and seating area is right off the 2nd bedroom and completely unseen by neighbors
- 2 more balconies- one off the living room and one off the master bedroom.
- New, big, open kitchen with dishwasher floats between the dining area and living room area -- perfect for cooking with others and entertaining.
- Sonos music system connects both floors
- Very sound insulated (so rare in New York!) -- you can't hear neighbors
- Projector so you can feel like you're in the movies in the living room.
- Big flat screen TV with Roku in the master bedroom
- Laundry room with with washer and dryer in the apartment.
- You have the whole floor- elevator opens into the apartment (you can lock the floor via the elevator with a key)
- The apartment is decorated with art I've made myself and other art and objects collected during travels. I keep it decorated enough that it has its own unique vibe, but minimalist so it doesn't feel too lived in or at all cluttered.
- The gym mentioned is Blink Fitness right across the street and it's just $1 to use it for a week.
CLEANLINESS, HEALTH, & SAFETY:
I follow Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. Here are a few highlights:
--I sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob
--I use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, and I wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination
-- I clean each room using extensive cleaning checklists
-- I provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay
-- I comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines
Guest Access:
It's ALL yours.
The Neighborhood:
The neighborhood of East Village / Alphabet City offers a ton of cool, interesting and tasty restaurants, bars & cafes, live music spots, public art gardens, and interesting shops (I'll send you my full neighborhood guide when you come)... however it still manages to maintain an intimate neighborhood vibe thanks to its relatively small scale and variety of independent shops (there's virtually no chain stores or department stores/ big box stores). You can easily walk to the galleries of the Lower East Side or the shopping of Union Square. You're right on top of Tompkins Square Park and 4 blocks from the boardwalk along the east river.
Getting Around:
3 different subway lines less than 7 blocks from apartment
A citibike station (shared bicycles) on the corner
Free and easy to find street parking on nearby streets
Other Things to Note:
In public spaces of the building (the building entrance, stairway should you choose to use it, and elevator), please respect neighbors and keep voices down.
Interaction with Guests:
If I'm in New York at the time, I'm happy to meet with you. No matter what, I'll always answer any questions you may have and address any requests as helpfully and quickly as possible.
