About this property

Sal's Beach Cottage Retreat

Secluded yet central pet-friendly coastal retreat with two fenced yards and lush gardens—ideal for romantic getaways, groups, or families. Walk/bike to Belinda Pt Beach or the Mendo Botanical Gardens, then unwind in the outdoor infrared sauna or clawfoot tub under the stars. Enjoy campfires, porch bbq's, outdoor movies, a small home gym, and a cozy fireplace. Minutes from beaches, surf, vineyards, farms, and all of the gems of downtown Fort Bragg & Mendocino—your perfect coastal escape awaits!

Property: You'll pull off historic Hwy 1 to find an inconspicuous exterior and a simple gate that guards the private little world inside. Walled in by lush rose hedges, the property opens to sun-dappled gardens, two fenced yards, and a spacious porch. It's an ideal base for exploring the Mendocino Coast—downtown Fort Bragg is under 5 minutes away, downtown Mendocino under 10—or simply unwinding and soaking up the property itself. Grab the bikes and head out, or never leave.

The home has 3.5 bedrooms—a queen, a California King with en-suite soaking tub and office nook, and a twin trundle room with an adjoining playroom that doubles as an additional bedroom. There’s also a comfy pull-out sofa in the living room, so the house can fit up to 9 people total— not including the extra pop-up crib for the littlest one!

There is also a compact home gym, shareable bikes, a fully stocked kitchen, in-unit laundry, and countless thoughtful amenities. The two fenced yards give kids and pets plenty of room to roam, making this one of the most pet-friendly stays on the coast.

The beach house was very cozy yet roomy. Lots of little touches that added up to a very warm and inviting experience. The outdoor infrared sauna, tub and hot shower were awesome. The location was close to downtown with a nearby path to Belinda Point right on the ocean. We would definitely return. PS. Fenced in property was great for our dog.

Sal’s Beach cottage is tastefully decorated, warm and homey. Our pup loved galloping around the large, lovely yard, and the kids were crazy about the kid room. The beds were all very comfortable, and it was well appointed in every way. Plenty of room for all of us to hang out. The outdoor sauna and tub were an unexpected treat. Didn’t use the firepit but plan to next time! Terrific trail to the ocean a short walk away. It was an easy 10-minute ride to Mendocino for lunch and we especially loved the fish and chips and chowder at the nearby Sea Pal Cove restaurnat in Noyo Harbor. Highly recommend a sunset cocktail at the Princess.
