The cabin is rustic and very well decorated. We enjoyed all the personal touches the host has created. The fire pit was comfortable and there was a nice supply of wood readily available, which led to s’mores being eaten!
It’s just a wonderful place to stay.
We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. It was impeccably clean and felt like home upon walking in. We loved the fire pit and the large yard to explore (especially our dog). Plenty of entertainment inside the cabin for the days the weather didn't cooperate. Thank you for a great place to stay!
Beautiful cottage and allowed our dog to stay with us. We stayed for a week, it was great having a kitchen to use and a full bathroom. Games, dvds and puzzles were a bonus! Loved the screened in porch and having the grill to use as well. Will definitely recommend and be back again!
Had a great time in NH. The cabin is great-lots of history and info about it. I think the fresh air and the sound of rain helped us sleep in almost every day. If you're short, be prepared to literally jump into bed . It's close enough to civilization for convenience but secluded enough to be relaxing. It is a cabin in the woods so you'll make friends with the local spiders but they did a great job of keeping bugs out.
We really enjoyed our stay at this beautifully restored cabin. The welcome basket we received was greatly appreciated! The cabin is very clean and decorated beautifully. We were able to get out on the lake for an early morning canoe trip that was so serene. Our dog loved cooling off in the water also. Northwood brewery and bakery are fabulous!
Owners have lovingly restored and decorated the cabin. It contain everything you need for a nice comfortable stay. Short walk to the lake. Would have loved to canoe but unfortunately had an algae bloom so not safe. We drove to two nearby state parks and enjoyed great hikes. Lovely area for fall drives.

Thank you for your stay. Just to note, there was a lake advisory as many NH lakes had this year, but to note it is safe to canoe in the lake. The state advisory is not to come into contact with the bloom (swimming in it). We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay!
Cute little place and the lake is a short jaunt down the road. The fire pit was a nice treat and the cottage has adequate provisions. One of the days was chilly and rainy so the indoor electric fireplace was a bonus. I was fasting from media/people but The Cottage is nicely stocked with plenty of DVDs, and has Wi-Fi though I never turned the tv or my phone on. Northwood appears to be a nice little town and I got to witness some neighbors walking their pig which was comical.
We stayed in early October. The cabin has a wooden roof. This is the time of year where acorns drop from the trees around the property. They sound like gun shots when they hit the roof of the cabin. This woke us up numerous time during the nights that we stayed there.
This cozy little cottage was perfect for our short stay. Wonderful welcome baskets for us and our dog! Loved seeing the book of pictures of the cottage!
Cottage was well stocked with everything you would want for a short getaway. Walk to the lake and take out the canoe. Roast marshmallows by the fire- cook, eat , sleep and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
We had the BEST time! Heatha was very communicative, hospitable, and helpful throughout the whole process. The house has all you need and is comfortable to boot! Can't say enough about this rental and hope to book again :)
Heatha's cottage was like new inside and very clean. We also enjoyed the fire pit outside. We would definitely do a return trip. She was quick to respond to our needs and questions.
My husband and I stayed here for a little getaway to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. It was cozy and decorated beautifully and was just what we needed for some quiet time to spend together. They had board games, movies, and puzzles which were great when we got some unexpected rain. The lake is just a 2 min walk away. We loved our stay and definitely recommend it for others. We hope to return in the future.
We where a little skeptical because of how close another rental was and how the outside of the cottage looked but we went for it anyway and loved it. The house was very clean and well organized, notes everywhere letting us know the layout of the cottage and if needed the rental owners info, overall we had a great time and would definitely rent their again

We are happy you enjoyed yourself. To note, the other rental is for 1-2 nights with 1-2 people mostly used for stop overs to sleep or people with day plans so no one at this rental usually even notices anyone is there. It is on another property so our guests have their own yard with parking, picnic table, horseshoes, fire pit, etc in the privacy of the backyard. We are happy you found that to be true by giving it a try. The outside as seen in the pics is a cottage style home from the 1950s. We have added some plantings and rebuild the stairs to update the outside but wanted to leave the old cottage feel. But once inside as the photos show it is all updated and new, right down to the granite counter tops and all new appliances, bathroom, furniture, etc... Thank you for your stay. We are happy you have it a try and loved it.
I rented the cottage as a getaway for my wife's 50'th birthday.
We loved it. Very clean, no chemically cleaner smells.
We instantly were relaxed. Plenty of privacy. Absolutely want to return soon
This place was amazing. It was so clean so nice and my son loved it we really needed a vacation and this was a cozy spot to getaway. Many things to do around the area trails antiques etc. THANKS
We had a great time. Used the cottage as a base to sleep and eat while we visited the many places we wanted to see. Paul and Heatha were great. Very quick if we needed anything. Definitely recommend.
Great to chill / hang/ get away from things for a bit. Not as secluded as I imagined but it didn’t bother me one bit. Any people I did run into were super cool! House was super clean and perfect!
