We had a fantastic stay at Jacks House 2 in Clare. The location is conveniently located walking distance to town and the Riesling Trail and the house itself is beautiful presented with all amenities you could need. The beds were incredibly comfortable. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Very comfortable, well presented property in a quiet street close to the Riesling Trail, shops, pub, supermarkets. The deck is wonderful for an evening bbq. Great stay, thanks Sue
A wonderful place in a great location. Sue has provided everything we needed for a welcoming stay.

Beautiful home in a great location, just a short walk to the Main Street and playground. Super comfortable beds and a beautiful relaxing outdoor space. I would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Clare!
Excellent accommodation and location, within walking distance to the local shopping area, the Riesling trial was at the end of the street, the fur baby enjoyed running around in the garden and was secured within the fences.
Continental breakfast was amazing.
The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed to be able to explore the Clare valley during the day. The breakfast provisions were ample and enjoyable. It was great to have a proper coffee machine.

Great heating / bathroom was excellent great shower two toilets very handy

Close to the Main Street area was easy to walk
Loved Clare and really loved our stay at 16 Mill st
Delightful property in a great location with wonderful outdoor area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Particularly enjoyed the proximity to the Riesling trail, great for early morning jogging and walking.
Very comfortable for four, but tricky with 5 adults as the third bedroom is accessed through one of the other bedrooms.
Clare is very hot in January and only one bedroom ( and the living room/ kitchen) had an air conditioner so the other bedrooms were a little warm in the evenings, but I think outside mid summer this would not be a problem.

Thoughtful Owner
Sue put so much time into the little details and that meant a lot to us. A beautiful message of welcome when we arrived, the heater was on ( it was freezing! ) bathrobes for us all (husband had forgotten his!) and umbrellas which we used as it unexpectantly rained. Beautiful house that was really appreciated.

Thank you for a lovely review, I'm very pleased you enjoyed your stay. Creating a home away from home & ensuring guests feel welcome is my goal, so your feedback is much appreciated. Reviews help future guests decide if Jack's '2' will be right for them, thanks also from all of them! Cheers, Sue
The house was very spacious and well equipped. The first morning’s breakfast was very nice consisting of eggs, spinach, cheese, bacon, toast and juice. There was cereal and toast for the remaining days. The amenities state that there is a clothes dryer but this is just a drying rack if you are in a hurry. My husband appreciated the espresso machine. I appreciated the tea pot. The house is very conveniently located in Clare.
A great location, ultra clean with everything you need and want. Based in a quiet street, but super close to the heart of Clare. Highly recommend. Thank you Sue for a really lovely space.
Beautifully presented comfortable home . Close to Main Street . Excellent place for 4 adults to share for a weekend getaway . Lovely extras like breakfast provisions was appreciated.
Family went to Clare for Mothers Day and had a fantastic time staying at Jacks 2.
Kids had a great time exploring the garden and Sue even had toys out in the yard ready to go. The kids loved it.
Beds were super comfy and the bacon and egg breakfast spread was superb and perfect for a Mothers Day breakfast.
We’ll be back !
Jacks House 2 was beautifully appointed, the beds were really comfortable and we loved the location with great Clare restaurants, pubs and coffee spots all within walking distance. We e-biked Clare to Auburn and loved the hot shower at the end of the day. Thank you Sue for the yummy breakfast too - provisions provided were really generous! We will definitely come visit again. Cheers Mel
A beautiful cottage which was really welcoming. We loved the extra touches like cosy dressing gowns.
A beautiful cottage which was really welcoming. We loved the extra touches like cosy dressing gowns, and great breakfast provisions. The garden and outdoor area was attractive and safe for our small dog.
Fantastic location right near the main street of Clare. Walking distance to shops, cafes and parks.
Wonderful vibe, comfy beds, hot showers, comfy couch etc. Backyard space was fantastic as well. Great places to stay with friends, family, children and pets.
Only small negative was we couldn't work out the dishwasher (had to be turned on underneath the sink) during our stay. On arrival there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher from previous guests and frozen food in the freezer. The third bedroom was also very musty and smelt like mildew.
We have stayed at both Jack's House properties now and have really enjoyed our time at both.

Thank you Taryn for taking time to write a review. I’m so sorry you couldn’t use the dishwasher during your stay, it’s a pity a simple thing like turn a power point on inconvenienced you. This is a great example though how a quick message to a host can fix any issue you encounter during your stay. In correspondence prior to arrival I ask guests to call with any questions or issues. It can be frustrating when a guest fails to communicate an issue & allow an opportunity to correct the problem.
As I mentioned to you, I allowed the corporate guest prior to your stay to leave his one item of food in the freezer as he returned the day you departed, long hours driving a fruit harvester during vintage means shops the shops often are not open when he finishes work, often in the early hours of the morning.
Very nice and tidy accommodation and space, we really appreciate the addition items such as the milk, bacon, juice etc as well as the Christmas tree it was very thoughtful. The only aspect that could make the accommodation even better would be cooling with each room because it did get a bit warm even with the lounge air-conditioner on, however in saying this it was still very nice.

Thank you for your lovely review, very much appreciated. I agree cooling in each bedroom is necessary which is why the ceiling fans are in place, this together with the reverse cycle aircon generated keeps the house comfortable. Having said that I am hoping to have an aircon unit installed in the bedrooms sometime this year!
Lovely cottage walking distance to Clare main street
Lovely updated cottage with lots of charm, easy walking distance to Clare main street for a coffee or dinner. Beautiful under cover patio just right for kicking back with a book and chilling. Great enclosed yard with a lawn for our old dog to explore. And only a short drive to the local golf course. Of course there are heaps of cellar doors within a few minutes drive to explore, some great winery restaurants and impressive art galleries (the best one is 3 doors down the road!). Had an enjoyable stay and really loved the king sized beds. Great breakfast provisions too. Highly recommend.
Near all facilities, had all the condiments and breakfast needs imaginable plus washing, linen to name just a couple the beds were divine soft and easy to sleep without interruption. Plenty of room to move for 4 people shower fabulous easy to walk to town and a lovely outside area to have a drink and enjoy with a private screen. Great laundry and the shower with real water ie plenty of !!!,
Needed a better lounge suite, plus beds were very old

Thank you for taking time to write a review Kerrie, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your stay.
For other potential guests, the beds were purchased in April 2018 just before we opened Jacks 2 as our second B&B, the lounge suite was purchased at the same time from Freedom Furniture.
This is our first negative review.
Escapee from the corporate life, living the dream running my two B&B's, meeting wonderful folk from around the globe. Often not fortunate enough to meet them in person (I like to give my guests ownership of the space while in residence) at least corresponding via email / phone so I feel I've helped make their holiday or short break a great experience.
Life's pleasures for me are family & friends, food, wine, books, cooking, live theatre, markets, bike riding & lap swimming with my teenage son, and time out walking with my partner.
Its a privilege to play a part in your holiday, we look forward to welcoming you to Clare.
