BALD HEAD DIAMOND:Perfect Jewel for a Couple's Getaway!!!

Our home is ready and willing to host couples wanting to getaway and have a fully furnished private cottage on Bald head Island. We have a completely stocked kitchen, 2 full baths, screened porch and living area on the lower level; upstairs balcony off the master with views of the Bald Head Creek. The master bedroom has a new Pottery Barn King size bed for our guests. This Island jewel has been completely renovated with Pottery Barn furniture, accessories and linens. We have a 4 seat golf cart for your transportation needs.
Our home is located in The Harbor Village district of BHI. Many amenities are available by a short walk. The Village is the center of recreational activities, such as stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, and canoeing. There are several restaurants, Old Baldy our resident lighthouse, The Bald Head Island Chapel, and beach accesses 1,2, and 3.
Our home is constantly monitored by security cameras for the safety of our guests and our property. Views by the cameras are those similar to views from public spaces in the street and otherwise.
As the home owns Membership at The Shoals Club, our guests have the optional amenity to purchase a Temporary Guest Memberships directly with The Club through registering on their Website. The Club then authenticates with us as to whether a booking is in place with our property.

Such a cute cozy space for two! We were there for a wedding and the BH Diamond was ideal distance for welcome party at Jules, wedding chapel and BHI golf club. We would go back again without wedding obligations

This was our 2nd time staying at Bald Head Diamond and we loved it just as much as the first time. Perfect for a two people and the walkability to everything in the marina is awesome. Very clean and comfortable and the upstairs deck has amazing views. We would have liked to have had 2 chairs on the screened porch but that was the only issue we had.

Amazing Little Place

Had a great time on the island, running Badwater Ultra Marathon. The place was perfect. Kitchen had everything to cook in for meals and the location was great! Would stay again fore sure!

Our second visit here to this cozy and quaint cottage on BHI. Great location and always charming and clean. It's a wonderful place for 2 people to stay on BHI. Wow will go back!

Honey moon stay

Cozy cottage on a remote tropical island

All the privacy you could imagine in a island paradise just minutes from the mainland. Wonderful shopping and restaurants with beautiful beaches. Baldhead Diamond had everything we needed for a week of relaxation with all of the comforts of a special hide away. Will definitely go again.

Would stay there again because of the location on a dead end street.but close to harbor. Amenities were good. Bathrooms were smaller than anticipated. Otherwise, very comfortable. Upstairs balcony view of lovely marsh.

We found this unit to be in a perfect location, walkable from the marina where the ferry arrives. Dining and shopping choices are within a short walk, and the golf cart is convenient for the rest of the island. The unit is relatively small but more than comfortable for two people. The owner is quick to respond to inquiries and provided clear and thorough instructions before our stay. We would definitely consider staying here again!

We loved our stay!

This was the best place for our long weekend in Bald Head! The space was perfect and had everything you could need. The owner provided a few bottles of water, coffee with cream and sugar packets, and even basic cooking spices. It is within walking distance to a few restaurants and a coffee shop if you and close to the ferry landing so we were the first drop off the tram! We will definitely be back. :)

WONDERFUL little cottage

My wife and I arrived by boat and had a one block walk to this lovely little cottage. If you enjoy "cottage chic" and "tiny home" culture, then this is the place! Thoughtful details throughout, lots of character, and a very well stocked kitchen - Hugh even had Keuirig pods and half-and-half in the fridge. Highly recommend!

Perfect BHI Cottage

My husband and I spent several nights at this adorable cottage in late June. The cottage was perfectly appointed with everything from beach chairs to water bottles. The location exceeded our expectations. There is a fantastic view of the Marsh from the balcony off of the bedroom! It is very evident that the owners paid attention to every detail of this property- it is extremely comfortable! My husband and I have been traveling to bald head for over two decades and this is by far one of our favorite rentals!! Highly recommend!!!

Bald Head perfection

We went to BHI for the first time, to celebrate our anniversary. The Diamond was perfect—morning coffee on the balcony, evening wine and snacks on the screen porch. (kitchen was stocked with coffee and cream ready to go. thank you thank you!!!) The king bed was divine and loved having a bathroom both up- and downstairs. Golf cart was great for getting around and we really appreciated the beach chairs and towels for our trips to swim :) Can’t say enough good things about this little gem.

Shortcomings

The lockbox on the front porch was difficult to locate, requiring a phone call to the owner. The property's windows were dirty and some of the ceiling fans were badly rusted. The treads on the front steps were not secure. The property listing showed a "private pool" as an amenity. In reality, the pool was at the far end of the island, was not "private" but part of a resort, and there was an admission cost. The listing was deceptive at best, dishonest at worst.

Why they chose this property

Totally unique for this Island. To look at it you would swear you were on Cape Cod or Martha's Vineyard. The home was built and designed by the Boston based, Dan Costa the go-to architect when the Island was first being formed into a thriving community. He also has designed 'The Tijuca Tower' sitting across the Harbor and was the architect for The Shoals Club.
We love it for its completeness but its compact nature. It is a complete home and hard to believe it is only 500 square feet. You will swear someone measured wrong when you are inside and see its completeness. The stairs to the sleeping level are very, very unique and those who are challenged to walk are dissuaded from being our guests.
They are 'boat house steps' and somewhat difficult to first traverse. After your first try its a piece of cake. Check out the pictures. They are alternating steps.

What makes this property unique

Being in The Harbor was a quest that this little jewel, our 'Diamond', gave us. It is just so cozy and intimate we really feel good to just go and sit on the upper balcony and sip a cool drink. From this vantage we can see where the bald eagles nested this past spring, watch kayakers, and stand up paddle boards go by on the Bald Head Creek.
It is named 'Bald Head Diamond' because when the earliest homeowners came there was, of course, no electricity. Therefore whenever a load of ice made it to the Island it was judged to be 'diamonds' that everyone gathered to use to keep their afternoon cocktails more perfect. Ice was as valuable as diamonds then during the time of the 'Generator Society' that made what little electricity they could from gasoline driven generators. Hence, 'The Generator Society' and their 'diamonds' have become our 'Bald Head Diamond'. Just as unique and precious to us. But we have electricity, wireless internet, Netflix (our subscription so please don't disable). We're so modern!
