Morning light filters through towering windows, settling quietly over the pines and revealing mountain peaks, seasonal marshland, and the calm that makes Big Bear so special—especially in winter. Coyote Flat is set on easy-to-access, flat ground in a quiet residential neighborhood where kids can safely play outside and days unfold at a slower pace. The home fronts Baker Lake, a seasonal lake and nature preserve that, while not intended for recreation, offers peaceful lakefront scenery and exceptional opportunities for birdwatching and wildlife viewing throughout the year.

The setting feels private and serene while remaining just minutes from ski resorts, hiking and cycling trails, local shops, dining, and Big Bear Lake. Winter days are spent on the slopes or exploring snowy forest paths, while evenings are made for slow dinners, crackling fires, and time together indoors. The home is meticulously maintained and spotless, offering a true turnkey mountain retreat.

Inside, the great room immediately becomes the heart of the home. Soaring three-story vaulted ceilings, exposed log walls, and floor-to-ceiling windows frame sweeping mountain and seasonal lake views. A stone, wood-burning fireplace anchors the space, creating a warm gathering spot after a day in the cold. Sink into comfortable seating, stream a movie, or connect your music to the whole-house sound system as snow falls quietly outside.

The kitchen is designed for shared meals and long conversations. This gourmet space features professional-grade KitchenAid appliances, including a six-burner gas cooktop, pot filler, built-in griddle, double ovens, and generous prep space. Multiple coffee options—Keurig, drip, and French press—make slow winter mornings effortless, while the large dining table invites everyone to linger long after dinner.

Sleeping arrangements
Coyote Flat comfortably sleeps up to 10 guests across five bedrooms, offering flexibility for families and groups.

The primary bedroom on the first floor features a king bed, private deck access, and a spa-inspired ensuite bathroom.
A second main-level bedroom includes a queen bed with easy access to a full bathroom.
Upstairs, a spacious bedroom with a California king offers a quiet retreat with ample storage.
Two additional upstairs bedrooms feature bunk-style sleeping with full and twin beds, ideal for kids or mixed groups.

With three full bathrooms and one half bath, mornings remain relaxed even with a full house.

Bathrooms and comfort
Several bathrooms include jetted tubs, perfect for warming up after skiing or snowboarding. The primary bathroom stands out with a steam shower, dual marble vanity, Japanese-style toilet, and a deep soaking tub for two overlooking the nature preserve and seasonal lake.

Entertainment and indoor living
A second-level game room offers a cozy escape with foosball, board games, toys, and a streaming TV, all with elevated views over Baker Lake and the surrounding mountains. High-speed WiFi and smart TVs throughout the home make it easy to balance unplugged time with modern convenience.

Outdoor living in winter and beyond
Step onto the expansive redwood deck to breathe in crisp mountain air and enjoy tranquil lakefront and forest views. The deck connects directly to the living room and primary bedroom and includes outdoor seating and a BBQ, weather permitting. When conditions allow, nearby hiking and cycling trails, ski slopes, and Big Bear Lake provide endless seasonal activities. Please note that the water levels in the picture may change and can change depending on the time of year.

Perfect for
Winter ski trips and holiday gatherings
Families and multi-family vacations
Groups seeking space, privacy, and scenic lakefront views
Guests traveling with one dog, thanks to a fenced yard area

With driveway parking for up to four vehicles, pet-friendly accommodations, flat and accessible grounds, and a lakefront setting that feels both peaceful and connected, Coyote Flat offers a mountain retreat where comfort, nature, and togetherness come naturally in every season.

Small aircraft enthusiasts can fly to Big Bear and enjoy the gorgeous scenery along the way while avoiding traffic! Landing at the Big Bear airport is a straightforward affair: a quiet small non-towered local airport. Coyote Flat is just a short 5-minute drive away.

Coyote flat is an ideal destination for general aviation pilots, their families. As well, our luxury property caters to charter and business aircraft guests.

Big Bear (L35) airport is less than 2 miles by road to Coyote Flat, which is located just west of the approach end of runway 08. The general aviation-only airport is quiet and with few daily arrivals and departures, but features excellent facilities with a good asphalt 5850’ x 75’ runway, a new-in-2027 terminal (satisfactory temporary terminal until then), seriously inexpensive fuel, $5 ($10 twin) overnight tie-down ramp fee, and a free airport shuttle on-demand 7am-6pm between the airport and Coyote Flat, and when ready, back to the airport (call the FBO/airport office 909-585-3219 to book: operated by Mountain Transit). Rideshare options available. High density altitude operations are a practical consideration (field elevation is 6752’). Study suggested noise-abatement procedures on https://www.flybigbear.com/ before arrival.

Soon to be added: Aviation radio in the house tuned to the CTAF frequency 122.725MHz so that pilots and non-pilots alike can listen to airport operations and traffic on a speaker from the radio within the house! Binoculars on the window sill: peer out the front window at the surrounding view with 20x zoom: close enough to read tail numbers or identify birds!

Aviation-themed décor within the home

Keen eyes also enjoy watching birds and other water fowl in the Stanfield nature preserve, and coyotes on the flats as well (namesake of the house!)

Parking
Driveway parking is available for up to 4 vehicles. No street parking is permitted, which helps keep the neighborhood quiet and accessible year-round, especially during winter conditions.
