It is important to make an INQUIRY first when booking this property with a description of group and purpose of visit.If its a good fit then the BOOKING REQUEST>This property has 14ft ceilings, a massive central wood fireplace and another gas fireplace. Open floor plan ideal for entertaining. Kitchen with all the subzero appliances; wine cooler, freezer drawers and ice maker, Miele in wall coffee maker , subzero fridge, oven and microwave, and six burner Thermador range. three large sun filled bedrooms, all with kings, two with queens and one with 6 bunks. Four bedrooms have T.V. s. Large bathrooms with tub, Heated floors, huge shower as well as outdoor shower.Also another guest bathroom. The doors are 8ft tall , the floors are hand rubbed oil french oak . Massive back patio with table that seats 14 and other seating arrangements.Indoors the table also seats 14. Steps down to huge lawn with huge 14 person in ground hot tub .There is a large orchard on the grounds.There is also a piano. This house sits on the same property as the 'Fishing Lodge' VRBO#334802 but still maintains its privacy and has riverfront access.It is ideal to rent along with the 5 bedroom Fishing Lodge for a family gathering or wedding(up to the number of house guests) or alone as a luxurious retreat. Owner lives next door and is on facebook.Oh and we have pigs and sheep and goats.All very friendly and love to be pet. If you need more space, ask about the connected 800 sqft artist's loft with kitchen ,bathroom , and loft sleeping with queen and two twins. I DO NOT EXCEPT BOOKING REQUESTS.BOOKING "INQUIRIES" ONLY.

The Methow can be smokey.We do not refund for smoke unless of course we are on level three evacuation. Depending on the wind , it changes day to day.
We do our best to control field mice. Occasionally they can get into the house. We have cute little live traps set occassionally in the houses.

We were a group of women; hikers looking to all stay together, so we needed bedrooms! The Country House did not disappoint. It was all the room and amenities we hoped for and needed. The bonus was the outdoor areas. We enjoyed dinner on the patio, and the pool area is beautiful. The location is not far outside of Winthrop or Twisp so we were able to enjoy both towns and of course an abundance of nearby hiking. And our host Ali was inviting and responsive to any questions! I hope to stay again.

Annual King Family Vacation

What a wonderful vacation house for teens, adults and children. We had sheep and goats to take over our scraps and feed to them .what a treat for the kids. Early morning visitors of deer and turkeys with their young. The pool is outstanding! The outside patio table is wonderful for teens to sit and play games. We had one difficulty and we were very pleased by the owner's reaction to get it fixed. Rafting the river was a thrill for the teenagers. Overall excellent stay!! Will put it at the top for another vacation here.

The Perfect Place to Relax

My family and I had such a wonderful time at this property. The house was clean, cozy, and beautiful. My boys would wake up in the morning and jump in the pool rain or shine. We enjoyed nights by the fire inside and outside the house. We ate lunch on the deck and enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. The landscape was beautiful and very calming. All the beds were comfortable and we all slept very well. Ali was kind and very helpful. She made sure we were comfortable and provided us with plenty of firewood. I hope to return to Aliwood soon. It is a wonderful place to stay :)

A True Gem

This place was perfect! Exactly as pictured and exactly as good as I imagined it would be when I first came across this property a year before we booked it. I loved the look of everything and could never get it out of my head, so finally, a year later, convinced my husband and we brought our kids over and had the best week of our lives!!! This place has everything we've looked for in other destinations but more - sun, pool, beautiful surroundings, sublime sunsets, spacious house that is beautifully designed, well appointed, and has everything you could ever need. We especially loved the layout with the kids having one 'wing' while the grownups had the other. We invited close friend for the first weekend and it worked out perfectly, plenty of room for everyone. Ali, thank you for being the perfect host and our new best/coolest friend. We would be back every month if we could. We will definitely be back next summer though!

Amazing getaway- luxury, service, beauty, fun!

It's hard to believe, but Aliwood is even better that it seems. The kitchen is a cook's dream, taking "well-stocked" to a new high. The beds are to die for (or at least sleep through breakfast for.) Sound is wired through the whole house. The bunk rooms are incredible. Ali has provided enough to do that you never need to leave the property- board games, lawn games, reading nooks and books, piano, pool, huge hot-tub, and 12 person tables and a kitchen that will make you want to cook nonstop. She also graciously answered every question we have and attended to everything we needed immediately and drove us to her adjacent property where we spent a beautiful afternoon in nature. Nearby Twisp somehow has everything you could need to buy on its one street. Even during early spring after snow melt when there weren't as many outdoor adventures to be had, we had no trouble entertaining ourselves for a full week and would have gladly stayed longer. Thanks for a great stay!

Fantastic family stay

We had a party of 6, with grandparents and 2 kids 6 and under, and this house had something for everyone. The location is awesome, surrounded by the Methow hills and easy distance to everything you’d need at Winthrop and Twisp. The property is beautiful and peaceful. The kids would have stayed in the pool all day, and the adults liked cooling off in it. Ali told us she just put a pool heater in. Ali just got sheep and goats for her orchard, and the kids had a blast petting them. The house had everything we needed and had a lot of character. We didn’t spend too much time in the house because we were either exploring the area or in the pool, but it was very comfortable. Twisp was over 90 degrees every day, but some AC was recently installed and the main part of the house stayed cool. The wing with two bedrooms would get a little warm with the doors closed. One of our daughters is autistic and very particular about temperature, so we brought a floor fan for her and she was comfortable. Ali was a very responsive host, answering questions before we arrived and being helpful once we got there. She was staying in the studio when we were there, but wasn’t intrusive at all. We’d absolutely stay here again.

It is the perfect property for a large group, from adults down to small children. There are all the amenities that a group would need (including the kitchen and outdoor grill and smoker), the outdoor pool and hot tub accommodated all guests in our group, and the host was available for any questions or help we needed with any of the property appliances. The swimming hole down at the river was great, we loved the outdoor table and patio space, and the beds are comfortable. The 3-level bunk beds are huge, it's about 14 feet up to the top level. If we come back to this area for another family gathering, we will definitely stay at Aliwood!!

We had a glorious time at this beautiful house. It was an absolutely perfect week with friends, good food, sunshine and laughter by the pool. We do an annual trip as a group and we’ve never stayed anywhere with such a well equipped kitchen. We loved the long table outside on the patio and enjoyed dining there together overlooking the magnificent Methow Valley. Check-in was a breeze and Ali was available and easy to communicate with.

Everything was exceptional from ease of check-in, communicating with the owner, facilities, and amenities, through to check out. Our family enjoyed this vacation so much that we intend to come back for our next vacation in two years. The grandkids loved the swimming pool and it was a short drive to Twisp and Winthrop for sightseeing and wandering around.

All was an exceptional owner/manager. She was very thorough on information at check-in. She was very helpful with anything we needed during our stay. It was an exceptional week with 15 of us. We loved the little town of Winthrop. It is a recreation of a frontier town with all the modern Things we love, like ice cream!

Work retreat

Great place for colleagues to get together! Plenty of rooms, beautiful setting, relaxing pool and hot tub for after-hours. The house has every amenity you could want and was a great place for us to gather over dinner. Loved seeing the farm animals in the nearby pasture.

Beautiful home in Winthrop
