About this property

Trails End A - 3 bedroom modern Winthrop townhome

Summary:
A bright, spacious and thoughtfully designed three bedroom townhome with beds for 8 guests, located on the edge of the old west town of Winthrop. This highly desirable rental home is within walking distance of downtown Winthrop with its great shopping and eateries. All of the Methow Valley’s best activities and trailheads are within easy reach giving you multiple adventure options at all seasons. Dogs are welcome and the home is thoughtfully equipped with a dog bed and a basket of pup supplies.

The Space:
Downstairs features an entrance lobby, powder room and open plan living space. The lounge area is furnished with a comfortable leather couch and flat-screen smart TV. The wood slab dining table comfortably seats 8. The well-equipped kitchen includes a cook stove, coffee maker, toaster and microwave. The living space opens out onto a private shaded deck with outdoor dining table and gas BBQ.

Upstairs are the three bedrooms. The primary bedroom has a king bed, writing desk, walk-in closet and a generous en suite bathroom with two sinks and walk-in shower. There is a second king-bed bedroom, bunk bedroom with a pair of bunk beds, bathroom with tub, and laundry room. Bedroom views look out across the valley to the Sawtooth Wilderness mountains.

The entire home is tastefully furnished and decorated, with many thoughtful touches including games cupboard, children’s story books, local art and artefacts. The quality of design, furnishing and decor make this an outstanding rental home, suitable for families, two couples with kids, or a group of friends.

This is an energy efficient home with a whole-house air conditioning and heating system, just set the thermostat to your desired temperature.

The Neighborhood:
The home is located on the bluff overlooking the Chewuch River only 5 minutes walk from downtown Winthrop. The old west town of Winthrop has great shopping, bakery and dining establishments; the Shafer Museum is definitely worth a visit to learn about the local history. Both ski and mountain bike rentals are available in town and the Methow Community Trail starts right in town. Don’t forget the ice skating rink and Methow Rafting

Winthrop is a fantastic hub for all the activities and adventures the Methow Valley has to offer, it's a short drive to all the Methow Trails' trailheads at Sun Mountain, Cub Creek and Mazama for winter cross country skiing and summer mountain biking or hiking.

Further afield it's a 30 minute drive to Washington Pass in the North Cascades National Park, and another five minutes from there to Blue Lake trailhead. Loup Loup ski hill is around 35 minutes in the other direction. Pearrygin Lake State Park is less than a 5 minute drive from the home; for fishing, water-sports, sno-park and fat biking trails.

Winthrop’s annual calendar of events includes the Rhythm and Blues Festival, Vintage Car Rally, Memorial Day Rodeo, and Christmas At The End Of The Road (check the town’s website for details).

Getting Around:
Getting here: May to November, from Seattle and the westside, you can drive over highway 20 and Washington Pass (check WSDOT for closures). Alternate, and winter routes from Seattle are via I-90, Snoqualmie Pass and Bluett Pass, or highway 2 over Stevens Pass (check WSDOT for driving conditions). Combine these routes and you have the scenic Cascade Loop. Nearest major airport is Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (247.0 miles).

Getting Around: it’s a 5 minute walk to downtown Winthrop’s boardwalk (around 6 minutes to Three Fingered Jack's Saloon). Mazama is 20 minutes drive north on 20. The artsy little town of Twisp and the Confluence Gallery & Art Center is 15 minutes south on 20. Trango operates a local bus service throughout the area, and Methow Motion provides a private car service.

Other Things to Note:
The home is located by the Winthrop to Pearrygin Lake road (Bluff Street / East Chewuch Road). The yard is not fenced (please take note for small kids or pets).

The garage will be accessible to guests, and has a couch and TV for use as a kid’s hang-out. There is ample off-road parking for two vehicles in front of the house.

There is a ring doorbell security camera, located next to the front door facing out. It does not look into any interior spaces.

This is a duplex home, the neighboring unit, Trails End B, can also be rented to accommodate a larger group of family or friends.

Excellent space and location
We had a wonderful stay. The property suited us so well with 2 families with kids and grandma all staying together for a family member's wedding. Well stocked home had all the amenities we could wish for plus a great, walkable location to town. We would have loved to use the fire pit in back had it not been for thunder storms. Enjoyed the patio for coffee once the sun came out prior to our departure. Thanks for an excellent stay and helping us make great family memories. We would definitely stay again.
