Large house for 4 people at the foot of the Tanargue Massif
The house is a century-old farmhouse made of massive quarry stone and is located on the south-eastern slope at an altitude of 600 m, just outside the village of Valousset, in a cul-de-sac. The "newer" parts of the house date back to 1503 - no one knows how old the core of the house is. Most of the house (cellar and hayloft) has been preserved as left by the last farming family, as has the old oven which, together with the goat farm, originally belonged to the farm in a fortress-like enclosure.
Therefore: don't wait for a new, easy-to-maintain holiday home! Instead, there are old, twisted chestnut planks and thick walls - but also a large fireplace and gas central heating. The apartment, which was renovated a few years ago, is about 120 m², simple but equipped with everything from dishwasher to blender to washing machine. It currently consists of: kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room. All bedrooms are very spacious. In the bedroom there is a double bed (200 x 180 cm) and an old farmhouse bed as a possible child's bed (only 1.75 m long). In the living room there is another double bed (200 x 140 cm) and a sofa bed. The exceptionally large bathroom was renovated in 2018 and has a shower and a separate bathtub.
In the house there is a stereo, hiking maps, games, lots of detective novels, everything for daily needs, but only a small TV with a few French channels. In front of the house there is a beautiful terrace of 80 m² with a view of the valley and the trellis. The faîses below the house and the small parking under the chestnut tree are also part of the house.
For a few years now, we have equipped the house in an even more environmentally friendly way: a solar system for the production of hot water has been installed. We get electricity from a supplier that guarantees 100% renewable energy. The washing machine and refrigerator are new and energy class A+. All bulbs are LEDs or energy-saving lamps. The windows and front door have been equipped with insulating glass. The cleaning products are biodegradable and there are containers for waste sorting in the village.
