Welcome to the 'Guarda Mare', the completely renovated typical 185 square metres stone house with spectacular views, pool (8 x 4 x 1.4metres), which overlooks the entire plane of the Maremma Monte Agententario, and the island of Giglio. 9 people and possibly 2 small children can be accommodated in 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Perfectly furnished. A successful combination of Tuscan charm and modern technology. Ideal starting point for historical and culinary attractions of Tuscany. In the summer, thanks to the altitude of over 550metres, it is approximately 5 degrees Celsius more pleasant than in the plains of the Maremma. Romantic retreat with proximity to Siena (50 kilometres). The close proximity (1.2 kilometres) of the medieval village Roccatederighi allows supply by bakers, butchers, diverse retailers and supermarkets. 4 restaurants offer typical Cucina maremmana. All inclusive service package with bed linen, towels, bath towels and. Beach towels, Wi-Fi, mobile phone, final cleaning and all bills included in the price. Upon request, guests can book breakfast and / or daily maid service. You can also book pasta and / or cooking classes through the "Nonna" in the village. We will gladly fill you with the fridge and / or a basket of local natural products. You can also book a weekly organic vegetable / fruit box in advance.
Selected regional wine is available in the villa for several wineries worth visiting. At Guarda Mare you can focus on what you deserve: your holiday!


Golf Club Toscana Il Pelagone: This golf club is one of the most beautiful and exclusive courses in Italy. The year-round playable 18-hole golf course is laid out wonderfully, and surrounded by vineyards and silver olive groves. Small lakes, waterfalls and the Mediterranean fauna and flora give the place its special charm.

A property that heals the soul

This was our second visit to this wonderful house. The view is just amazing and constantly changing as weather systems go by, you can feel your breathing slowing down as you look out over the plain. The house is a real home that makes it so comfy to visit. The kitchen is very well stocked and the fruit and wine that were left as a welcome present was just lovely (I have never eaten such good peaches!). The beds are comfy and there is a huge amount of furniture to store the unpacking, nice not to live out of your suitcase as I have had to do at other rental properties. The local village is about a 2 km walk, which is a good distance for walking off several very pleasant lunches, albeit it is a bit of a climb back up to the house. Thank you Laura and family for letting us stay!

Just fantastic!

We were only 2 people, myself and my husband and so the house was bigger than we needed, but I fell for the view in the pictures and the reality did not disappoint. I spent many happy hours admiring the changing view while my husband was out on his bike. And he loved the roads around the house and came back from bike rides quite euphoric! Yes, the road up to the house is steep and is not perfect all the way up, but we have stayed in houses where it was much much worse and so the road up to Villa Guarda Mare felt easy (we had hired an Audi A1 which was perfect). The situation of the house was also great, within walking distance of Roccatederighi (even for me as I wait for hip replacement surgery) and we found everything we needed there. Inside the house itself was very very comfortable and felt like a real home. Comfy beds (never get that in Spain, there they are as hard a rocks!). We booked the cooking class (ricotta and spinach ravioli and it was a lot of fun, but we had a mountain of raviolis at the end - I was quite surprised that we managed to eat them all over the next days, but they were very very good :-) We also tried the recommended restaurant (da Nada) for a meal one night and it was truly lovely with great service. We had a table by the window and could see over to Villa Guarda Mare as we ate which was lovely. We came home thoroughly relaxed and this is the first time that I can write that we will go back, it was just wonderful. Thank you so much to all the folk involved in hiring out Villa Guarda Mare!!

Amazing view from the terrace and pool, and a wonderful host

Our family had a very nice and relaxing stay at the Villa in July of 2022. We were a family of 5+1 daughter in-law - of ages 14-52. The best thing about the villa is no doubt the amazing view of the Maremma plain and the old part of Roccatederighi from the terrace and pool. Next comes the secludedness, but still close to the tiny and very old town of Roccatederighi. The town has everything you need - although very small stores and restaurants. Very rural. Beware that the house has no air condition. Hence strict observation of open/close windows, doors and shutters should be observed. We found the "filled fridge" option nice, but overpriced. Would recommend planning a shopping trip to Grossetto on the day of arrival instead. Also, the "cooking class" was problematic. The food was delicious but the two women had prepared the pasta dough and filling in advance, so only the preparation of the tortellini and boiling was anything resembling af "class". We had expected to make the dough ourselves and felt "left over" in the process. Also the women spoke ONLY Italian - no english. So communication was near impossible. The experience would better qualify as in-house cooking and was, unfortunately a disappointment to us. The host was extremely helpfull and responsive both before and during our stay. A very nice plus. We can definitely recommend a stay at Villa Guarda Mare.

Magnifique propriété

Magnifique villa avec une vue extraordinaire à la hauteur des photos. La maison est très bien équipée. La propriétaire est très réactive. Le petit village n est pas loin et permet de faire quelques courses. Le seul bémol est l absence de climatisation. Bien que nous comprenions que ce soit pour préserver la planète. En août les nuits sont très chaudes et peu d air malgré que nous dormions toutes fenêtres ouvertes. En tout cas excellent séjour et difficile de quitter un lieu si magique.

Ein wundervolles Haus

Die letzten 250 Meter zum Haus sind beschwerlich. Steil, Schlaglöcher, eng. Das ist alles, was man an Negativem sagen kann. Ansonsten ist es ein traumhaftes Haus. Wir haben die Aussicht so genossen! Das Haus selbst ist sehr komfortabel eingerichtet, Geschirr, Besteck, Kochutensilien, alles ist in großer Zahl und hoher Qualität vorhanden. Die Betten sind sehr bequem, es ist alles gemütlich. Bei Fragen hat mir Laura immer innerhalb ganz kurzer Zeit per Mail geantwortet, alles war zu unserer Zufriedenheit. Der Pool war um diese Zeit schon kalt, wir sind trotzdem mal rein gegangen, einfach um ihn und die Aussicht zu genießen. Wer weg möchte vom Trubel ist hier richtig. Das Dorf ist über den kurzen Weg der Landstraße gut zu erreichen, der Supermarkt ist klein, aber man bekommt dort fast alles. Wir werden bestimmt wiederkommen!

We had a fantastic week at the Villa and the nice little village. Wonderful view, pool and house and the owners helped us very quickly with all the questions we had. Did miss an A/C on some hot days and nights but otherwise nothing to complain about.

Einfach wunderbar

Wir fühlten uns von der ersten bis zur letzten Minute unserer Ferien rundum wohl in diesem Haus. Obwohl erst spät abends angekommen wurden wir äußerst freundlich begrüßt und zum Domizil geführt. Das Haus war einladend für uns hergerichtet, das Interieur äußerst geschmackvoll und liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Lage des Hauses mit dem atemberaubenden Blick auf das Tal bis zum Meer ist einfach gigantisch. Da die Abende in den ersten Tagen noch etwas kühl waren, haben wir die Möglichkeit, die Räume zu heizen, dankend angenommen. Die Küche ist anders als sonst oft in italienischen Häusern üblich, groß und hervorragend ausgestattet. Die große Terasse, der Pool mit Ausblick, die Ruhe in der Umgebung ohne dabei einsam zu sein, einfach ein Traum. Der Wäschetausch, die Poolreinigung, alles erfolgte ganz unaufdringlich und unkompliziert durch die freundlichen Damen vor Ort. Das Haus entspricht in allen Belangen den gezeigten Bildern und kann absolut für einen Urlaub in ruhigem, abgeschiedenen Ambiente und traumhafter Landschaft empfohlen werden. Wir würden jederzeit gerne wiederkommen.

Haus an wunderbar ruhiger Lage mit Aussicht

Die Beschreibung auf den entsprechenden Webseiten stimmt vollständig mit der Realität überein. Es handelt sich um ein wunderbar etwas in der Höhe gelegenes Haus mit einer riesigen Terrasse und prächtigem Ausblick auf die Maremma. Da das Haus für sich in einem kleinen Park steht, ist es absolut ruhig. Die Ausstattung von Haus und Terrassenbereich ist komfortabel und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Der Kontakt mit der Vermieterin klappte hervorragend. Sehenswürdigkeiten in der zentralen Toskana (Siena und Umgebung) sind per Auto in ca. 1-1,5 Stunden zu erreichen. Das kleine Dorf Roccatederighi ist ca. 1 km entfernt und bietet alle Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, allerdings nicht den Charme einer Stadt wie Massa Marittima, das ca. 30 Minuten entfernt liegt. Uneingeschränkt empfehlenswert!

Magnifique !

Nous avons passé une super semaine dans cette belle maison. Les prestations sont de qualité. La vue est époustouflante. Le village à proximité est très sympa, on peut y trouver tout ce dont nous avons besoin et nous avons très bien mangé dans ses restaurants. La propriétaire nous avait organisé une soirée "fabrication de pâtes" avec des locaux : inoubliable ! A refaire !

Tolle Villa mit super Aussicht

Wir sind mit 2 Familien angereist. Die Anfahrt war etwas beschwerlich, aber die Mega Aussicht und der tolle Pool haben einen dafür sofort entschädigt. Das Haus ist einem guten Zustand und sehr gut ausgestattet. Wir haben uns die ganze Zeit sehr wohl gefühlt und den Aufenthalt genossen.

My parents had bought the house more than 20 years ago. So I had the opportunity to spend my entire childhood there during my holidays. I have enjoyed them. During the day we always went to the sea, since there was no pool. Sometimes we then went to Siena, Florence or Rome, or had to assist our parents in haunted places, with streets through which no cars could past, with wine, pasta, cheese or olive oil samples. Well, true, the good ice cream has always compensated us. After very extensive renovations a few years ago, I now help with the renting of GUARDA MARE.

Why they chose this property

GUARDA MARE with its location so close to Roccatederighi is the ideal base, from which to visit Tuscany, and to explore or to spend days at the beach. People are very open and friendly, and the food is very good. The sea is exceptionally beautiful. Then you can end the day in the pool with this view, and finally cook in this wonderful home, or to go to Vincenzo for food, it is unforgettable.

What makes this property unique

There is plenty of space around the house to go exploring or watch the many lizards. The comforts of this home with its very extensive facilities on a ,for this region, rather exceptional level can really make for a great holiday here.
