About this property

Forest Haven: Trails, Stars & Serenity (Ravens’ Ridge)

Ravens’ Ridge is a spacious, eight acre mountain retreat with a stunning westward view of the Shenandoah River valley and over 3,000 square feet to relax and spread out. Surrounded by wooded hillsides, the home offers a king primary suite, two queen bedrooms, a finished basement, Roku TVs throughout, and a loft workspace. It’s a peaceful, comfortable getaway for families, couples, and small groups.

The space
Ravens’ Ridge is designed to feel both open and welcoming, with distinct spaces for gathering, working, and relaxing. Whether you spend the day hiking, reading on the deck, or cooking dinner together, the house is arranged to make everyday moments feel easy. We do our best to emphasize the connection to nature at Raven’s Ridge, from birding and nature guides to the custom three raven mural in the entryway, designed and painted by local artist Christy Baker.

Main Level
The main level is centered around a warm, open living space with comfortable seating, a Roku TV, and large windows that look out onto the surrounding trees. Just beyond it, the kitchen is fully stocked for guests who enjoy cooking, with thoughtful extras including a Nespresso machine, Instant Pot, baking sheets, and Silpat mats. The dining table seats six and works just as well for shared meals as it does for board games or a slow morning breakfast.

Two queen bedrooms are located on this level, along with a full bathroom with separate sink and shower areas, a layout that offers a bit of extra ease for groups getting ready at the same time.

Just off the great room is a fully-stocked kitchen equipped with everything you’ll need for quick, get-up-and-go meals (Instant Pot, rice maker, Nespresso machine) to full-on family holiday meals (baking sheets and Silpat mats, casserole and baking dishes, stockpot, and pans).

Upstairs Loft & Primary Suite
Upstairs, the primary suite offers a quieter, more private retreat with a king bed, forest views, and a spacious bathroom featuring a walk-in shower and Toto Washlet bidet. The loft includes a dedicated workspace with strong Wi-Fi, making the home especially comfortable for guests blending rest with remote work…though if you can keep from napping once you sink into the Big Joe XXXL beanbag, you’ve got more willpower than we do!

Finished Basement
Downstairs, the finished basement is set up as a hangout zone. You’ll find a large 65” 4K Roku TV, a DVD player with a library of 80+ movies. Next to the TV area is a dedicated, handmade live-oak gaming table with over twenty puzzles and board games nearby. Have evening cocktails or casual snacks after a day of hiking in the bar area (also with handmade live-oak bar top). A full bathroom on this level makes it easy for groups to spread out or have that extra shower for large groups.

Outdoor Space
The 900 square foot raised deck is one of the home’s most inviting features. With outdoor dining, and a hammock and yard games below, it offers an easy place to linger, whether over morning coffee or an unhurried evening surrounded by trees. Gated deck openings add peace of mind for families with younger children, and the wooded setting gives the entire space a sense of privacy and calm. A ring road/path around the property is great for a stroll or dog walk.

Comfort & Convenience
The home is equipped with mini-split heating and cooling, along with ceiling fans and baseboard heat in the bedrooms and main living areas for year-round comfort. A cozy modern fireplace insert on the main floor adds heat and ambience in winter months (starting firewood is provided). Guests also have access to a washer and dryer, with detergent provided. A roll-away bed and pull-out futon in the great room allow for extra sleeping areas (up to the max of six overnight guests). Family-friendly extras, including a pack ’n play and baby gates, are available for those traveling with little ones.

Winter Access
Ravens` Ridge is located at 1,800 ft elevation in a mountain community. Between mid-November and mid-April, we strongly recommend 4WD/AWD vehicles. Roads can become icy or snow-covered, and chains/snow socks may be necessary in severe weather. Guests without properly equipped vehicles may be unable to reach the property during inclement weather. We will keep you informed of conditions and work with you to adjust plans if needed. Detailed winter travel information is provided in your guidebook upon booking.
