About the host
Hosted by Katie
We’ve been welcoming guests through Airbnb for over a decade and have been fortunate to receive many wonderful five-star reviews along the way. As we’re now travelling the world more ourselves, we thought it was time to open our home to VRBO guests too.
We’re both originally from the UK but are lucky enough to call Bermuda home — and even luckier to have found this beautiful and rather unique property, set within an acre of private parkland and gardens.
I absolutely love gardening and spend a great deal of time curating the grounds, which are filled with palms, fragrant frangipani and oleander, banana plants, pomegranates, peaches and an ever-evolving collection of tropical plants.
The house and gardens are arranged over four different levels, each with its own spectacular views. We love living here, and when we’re travelling, it’s a pleasure to be able to share this very special corner of Bermuda with our guests.
Why they chose this property
Watching the Wednesday evening sailing races from the pool deck is a particular joy. We have spectacular 180-degree views across beautiful Bermuda — from Hamilton cathedral and town to the east, past Two Rock Passage, where yachts, ferries and container ships make their way towards Hamilton, to the Great Sound and beautiful sunsets in the west.
Our property has a sweeping drive down to Boss’s Cove, where we keep our boats. Guests are welcome to try our paddleboards from there. The cove is also a wonderful place to spot turtles and experience the magical phosphorescence in the water.
We’re set within a beautiful private garden estate with its own secret swimming cove, yet only a seven-minute walk from the beaches at Spanish Point Park. A little further on is Admiralty Cove, with its pirate caves, rocky jumps for the brave and a usually quiet, free tennis court.
Hamilton is also conveniently close, just a five-minute drive away, making it easy to enjoy the restaurants, shops and attractions of town while still returning to the peace and privacy of the estate.
What makes this property unique
Our property is unique because it combines privacy, space and spectacular views with an unusually convenient location. Set within an acre of private parkland and gardens, the house feels peaceful and secluded, yet Hamilton is only a five minute drive away and several beautiful coastal spots are within walking distance.
The house and gardens are arranged over four different levels, each offering their own views and atmosphere. From the pool deck, you can watch sailing races, follow the movement of boats through Two Rock Passage and enjoy unforgettable sunsets across the Great Sound or walk up a level to the fire pit and ‘Thinking Chair’ and roast some marshmallows under the stars.
The gardens are a particularly special part of the property. They are lovingly tended and filled with palms, fragrant frangipani and oleander, banana plants, pomegranates, peaches and an ever-evolving collection of tropical plants. The grounds lead down to Boss’s Cove, where guests can try paddleboarding, look for turtles and experience the phosphorescence after dark.
The property itself has many choices for outdoor seating areas - 2 verandahs, the courtyard, the kitchen patio or the quarried study garden. All plant filled and totally private.
More than anything, this is a much loved private home rather than a standard holiday rental. We’ve lived here for many years and have created a relaxed, welcoming space where guests can enjoy the beauty, privacy and character of this very special corner of Bermuda.
