Architect house (Main house) with fantastic sea view in Almocageme in nature reserve Sintra/Cascais
The extraordinary architect's house suitable for 2-4 persons is very bright, open and modernly furnished. It is situated in a quiet and central location on the edge of Almoçageme/Colares above the Adraga beach. Almoçageme is a typical Portuguese village in the Sintra/Cascais nature reserve, which has hardly any tourism.
It has a garden and from this garden as well as from all rooms of the house you have a view to the sea. On the upper floor there is a sleeping area with a double bed, a large bathroom with tub, shower and bidet. Above it there is a mezzanine with a single bed as well as a separate small gallery room with a double bed and a breathtaking view of the intact nature up to the sea.
The ground floor consists of a spacious living area with open fireplace and a kitchen/living room with dining table for six people, granite worktop, dishwasher, stove and oven with view to the garden and the sea. Central heating (possibly at your own expense) and very good internet connection are available.

Nice house in lovely surroundings

We had very nice stay in outskirts of the village, with a pleasant view of the ocean. We really appreciated the host Rolf valuable tips on what to see and where to eat in the surroundings, don’t miss the lovely beach Praia do Adraga. The house was very clean and suited us well, as others have mentioned in the reviews the stairs in the house are not suited for very young children and elderly (or with walking difficulties).

Lovely relaxing property

When I booked this house, I was looking for somewhere to relax and enjoy the sunshine but not too far away from places to visit. And that is exactly what we got. The house is very much as it is shown in the pictures and we greatly enjoyed sitting out in the garden and enjoying the view. The restaurants and shops in the local village are easily within walking distance and that too was very relaxing. We did visit one or two of the Sintra sites. However, due to wildfires a lot of these were closed to most of our stay. Nonetheless, we very much enjoyed the places that we saw. The local beaches were lovely, although we are not sunbathers, but we did enjoy the walks down to the sea. Rolf and Marie Helena were excellent hosts, both before the holiday and during our stay, and we highly recommend both them and this property.

Häuschen in beschaulichem Dorf in Küstennähe

Wir haben den Aufenthalt in diesem sehr offen gehaltenen Haus sehr genossen. Besonders beeindruckend ist die wundervolle Aussicht auf den Atlantik in der Ferne ab der mittleren Ebene (das Haus verteilt sich auf drei Ebenen). Ein sehr schöner Rückzugsort nach Ausflügen nach Sintra und Lissabon und ein guter Ausgangspunkt für tolle Wanderungen in die Umgebung wie z.B. zum Cabo da Roca.

Schönes Haus in nettem Dorf

Angenehmes Wohnen in offenem Haus über mehrere Etagen mit Blick aufs Meer. Für sehr alte und sehr junge Menschen wegen der steilen Treppen eher nicht geeignet. Die Ausstattung ist gut (Küche, Betten, Möblierung, Terasse); ein anfängliches Problemchen mit WLAN wurde von den Vermietern sofort geregelt. Das Dorf mit seinen engen Gassen ist nett und bietet in direkter Nachbarschaft u.a. ein sehr gutes Restaurant und einen kleinen, aber gut sortierten Supermarkt (sogar mit etlichen Bio- und Vegan-Produkten). Der "Haus"-Strand ist ein Eckchen zu laufen, aber auch sehr pittoresk. Zum Schwimmen und Surfen jedoch weniger geeignet, da dort oft gefährliche Strömungen auftreten und seitlich steile Felsen den Sandstrand begrenzen. Mit dem Auto (das ohnehin unabdingbar ist) gelangt man rasch an größere und zum Surfen besser geeignete Strände in der Umgebung. Vormittags ist es schon mal recht diesig, dafür ist die Gegend aber sehr grün. Zum Cabo da Roca ist es nicht weit, Sintra und Umgebung bieten allerhand architektonische Sehenswürdigkeiten, Cascais mit seinen vielen Sonnenstunden ist schnell erreicht, wie auch Lissabon (mit Auto oder per Bahn von Cascais). Wir hatten einen erholsamen und aktiven Urlaub.

La maison de Rolf et Maria est un havre de paix. Elle est idéalement située pour partir a la découverte de cette partie du Portugal . Son agencement fait que l on s'y sent tout de suite très bien. Nous recommandans tres fortement.

Urlaub in idyllisch gelegenem Ferienhaus

Wir waren zu 4 hier (2 Erw und 2 Kinder 13 u. 15) und haben unseren Urlaub in diesem tollen Haus sehr genossen. Alles was man für den Alltag braucht gibts in den Läden wenige Meter vom Haus entfernt, die täglich geöffnet haben. Zum Surfen waren wir am Praia Grande. Kurse können dort kuzfristig gebucht werden. Ein Mietwagen ist allerdings zu empfehlen. Vielen Dank an unsere freundlichen Vermieter

Wunderschönes und außergewöhnliches Haus

Wir haben erholsame und wunderschöne Tage in diesem außergewöhnlichen Haus vollbracht. Das Haus ist sehr offen gestaltet, modern eingerichtet und besitzt alles, was man für einen reibungslosen und erholsamen Urlaub benötigt. Die Bilder sprechen einfach für sich. Wer mitten in einem ursprünglichen portugiesischen Dorf abseits des Tourismus seinen Urlaub verbringen möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Im Ort erlebt man hautnah die portugiesische Kultur und Lebensweise. Im Ort bekommt man alles für den täglichen Bedarf. Der Strand Adraga ist einfach atemberaubend schön und nicht überlaufen. Sintra mit seinen Sehenswürdigkeiten, Cabo da Roca und Cascais sind von Algmocagem schnell zu erreichen. Belem haben wir problemlos mit dem Auto erreicht, wohingegen wir nach Lissabon von Sintra aus mit dem Zug gefahren sind. Es war wohl nicht das letzte Mal, dass wir hier Urlaub gemacht haben.

Herrliches Ferienhaus

Wir haben, wie schon viele Male, wieder eine wunderbare Woche in diesem tollen Haus verbracht. Wir schätzen die offene Architektur des Hauses, die von allen Räumen eine grandiose Aussicht auf den Atlantik bietet. Wir sind oft im Winter in Almoçageme und Dank der Zentralheizung ist das Haus trotz des Atlantikklimas, warm und trocken. Und nach langen Klippenspaziergängen abends vor dem offenen Kamin zu sitzen, ist einfach wunderbar.... Da wir schon so viele Jahre zu unterschiedlichen Jahreszeiten in dieses Haus fahren, waren wir überrascht über das Feedback der letzten Gäste. Nach ’Hund ‚ hat diese Haus in all den Jahren noch nie gerochen, es ist nie feucht gewesen und zur Nachbarterrasse gibt es Jalousientüren, so dass nichts einsehbar ist. Die Bilder des Hauses beschreiben das Haus gut; wenn man diese offene Architektur nicht mag, sollte man es nicht buchen. Es ist ein außergewöhnlich schönes Haus in einer wunderbaren Gegend von Portugal; sehr gastfreundliche Vermieter und Dorfbewohner, leckere Restaurants, tolle Strände, wunderbare Klippenwege, mystische Wälder und viel Kultur. Wir freuen uns auf unseren nächsten Urlaub dort! Doro, Jörg & Moritz

Abgewohnte Wohnung mit Investitionsstau

Kein Empfang durch die Vermieter, sehr unpersönlich. Das Haus war feucht, stark nach Hund riechend. Keine Privatatmosphäre: die einzige Innentür befand sich vor dem Bad, alle Schlafzimmer waren offen, das master-bedroom war von der Nachbarterrasse einsehbar. Nicht schön, wenn man sich im Bett räkelt und die Nachbarn schauen zu. Die Schlafgelegenheiten im Dachgoschoss waren nur über abenteuerliche Leitern zugänglich. Die Einrichtung war total abgewohnt, zerkratzte Pfanne, verrostete Herdplatte, durchgesessenes Ikea-Sofa. Die Gartenmöbel waren defekt. Wenn man sich in den "Liegestuhl" setzte, plumst man ungebremst auf den Boden. Kommentar des Vermietes. "Ist halkt aus China". Einen Parkplatz gab es nicht, der Mietwagen musste an einer engen Kurve geparkt werden, falls da was frei war (und es war Nachsaison). Wir hatten dezidiert nachgefragt, ob es dort ruhig sei. Das wurde uns von den Vermietern bestätigt. Tatsächlich befand sich neben demn Haus eine Dauerbaustelle, in der von morgens bis abends gelärmt wurde. Da war der Vermieter unfair. So erschien uns der velangte Mietpreis als deutlich zu hoch, zumal die Vermieter offenbar nur Interesse an Rendite und nicht an den Wünschen der Gäste hatten.

Merveilleuses vacances

Cette magnifique maison d'architecte (le propriétaire lui-même) exhauce un rève de vacances. Des lignes claires, un espace généreux, des coups d'oeil fantastiques de chaque fenêtre, elle donne sur un petit jardin et offre une vue splendide sur l'Atlantique que l'on atteint en quelques minutes en voiture ou à pied à travers la campagne du litoral typique ici. La maison est en bord de village tout à fait typique sans être du tout touristique. La proximité de Lisbonne, même sans voiture (bus par Sintra ou Cascais, deux villes historiques de grande renommée) rend ce havre de paix particulièrement attrayant. La maison est aménagée avec grand goût, meubles modernes, objets recherchés, cuisine pratique. Nous reviendrons. Véroisa

traumhaftes Ferienhaus

Wer das typische Portugal, fernab des Massentourismus sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Die Lage des Hauses, mit Blick auf das Meer ist unübertroffen. Die Nähe zu Lissabon und Sintra ermöglichen herrliche Ausflüge in das Hinterland. Praia Adraga, eine der schönsten Badebuchten am Atlantik, ist nur zwei bis drei Autominuten vom Haus entfernt.
