We are grateful for the opportunity to visit this home and it had all the comforts of home. The pool was a huge hit and so much fun. Just a short drive to the local grocery, major shopping, beaches, Ft. Meyers and my favorite spot - Sanibel Island. Plenty of choices for dining out, and lots of activities in the area Sunsets were amazing and the thrill of seashell hunting kept us entertained for hours. We thoroughly enjoy this vacation home. Booking was quick and easy.
This rental was a complete disappointment. It spoiled the holiday for us due all the issues and a management company that lied to our face numerous times.
Listing states- Heated electric pool- was 72 degree every day, brought to management attention. "it will warm up a degree an hour once heater comes on every morning" . It was 72-73 degrees 6 days of 7, except the last day. They had someone come and replace the compressor (mng. lied about pool warming up every day).
The property was to have had tv's in every room and a landline. Lucky I had the Tv checked when we got there and the main TV did not work- "cable co. had been there that day and completely taken cable out." Mng. was there for 2 hours after we were alllowed to check-in. Finally got 3 of the 4 Tv's to work by wi-fi. (Why wasn't this checked at time, since mng. was there with cable company?) Master Tv needed to be replaced, not a smart tv. They offered but who wants them around on again on Christmas eve. The did add a lamp to the front room, did not even have a lamp you could read by.
They did not provide any bath soap or shampoos.
Ice make was not working- "oh I forgot to turn it on (He was was there at 4:30 doing some work, but forgot ice maker, had not check pool temp.)
Master shower -mildew-had to have cleaners back.
Lawn care co. came and spray fertilizer while we were sitting at the pool. There was someone at the property doing something, even though we had rented it for a week. Things should be done on the turn over day. The house had been empty since before daylights saving time, all the clocks were an hour ahead. You had to take out & bring in both trash can and recycling can- 3 feet apart.
In garage there were mouse dropping by the recycle can. It started to smell on the fourth from having been used by someone else, we never used it until the day we left.
The house is minimal. Not an inviting property.
There are all type of house rules.... if you dirty a trash can $30, if you break the disposal...$150 etc.. Be aware that the books states that at check out if there is any damage you will be expected to pay CASH when they check you out.
I would not recommend renting this place unless you want a vacation full of frustration. I am sure the management company will answer my review, do not believe 50% of what they say. Mng. told us they owned the house.
I reached to VRBO after trip and they told me who really owned the house.
I have photos of RULES Book

Thank you for staying in one of our homes. We have 5 star ratings all over the place (here on vrbo, on Facebook and on Google ... FULL Five Stars - almost no competitor has 5 full stars). We are in business since 2002 and well know for extremely good and fast service. But we are not perfect and things happen.
Heated pool: when the outside temperatures are too low nobody is able to heat the pool. In the wintertime this can happen and has nothing to do with this house, pool or heater. Yes, it can be cold in winter in Florida. During summertime the problem does not occur.
We NEVER lie. Therefore we reject this false statement. We never lie. Maybe there was a miscommunication in this specific case?
TV: the tv situation was not good and we apologize. Cable tv is extremely expensive and step by step cable tv and phone is exchanged by fast fiber internet. Most guests do not even use cable tv but prefer streaming. Therefore a fast internet connection is more important to guests than cable tv with slower internet. Again, in this case the switch from a cable provider to a fiber internet provider was not perfect.
"They did not provide any bath soap or shampoos." Renting a vacation home in Florida is NOT like staying at a hotel. Typically, these things are bought by the guests themselves.
We try to do necessary repairs etc. on days the homes are vacant. However, this is not always possible.
"You had to take out & bring in both trash can and recycling can- 3 feet apart." Yes, otherwise the owner gets a complaint and ticket by code enforcement. Do the guests want to pay for it? Nothing we can do about.
Management does NOT own the house. No idea why guests thought so.
Rules: Well, in every vacation home there are rules. We almost never charge extra. There is a big difference what the house rules say and how you treat guests in the end. And even if we have to charge (rarely happens) cash is the only option.
House is kind of basic. But this is the reason the price is low. Because house is located in prime loccation and you pay for the location and the view, not necessarely for the house.
One star is not justified. Maybe guests expected too much? However, the tv situation was not very well handled by us.
The house is great and was as advertised, location is great for visiting the local fare and Neighboring Sanibel Island. Management was very welcoming and very informative. Our only issue was the bed in the master bedroom and the 2nd bedroom we found to be very uncomfortable. That might just be a matter of our taste, but when you’re staying for a week and the bed is not comfortable it unfortunately takes away from the trip. We would definitely check out one of their other properties but not this one again unless they get new beds.

Thank you Marcelino. I understand your comment. However, mattresses are very difficult to deal with and usually never perfect. You already mentioned that it is a matter of taste. A few years ago we had guests in one of our homes. They complained about the mattresses saying they were old and uncomfortable and therefore demanded new ones. Well, these guests were the first ones sleeping on the brand new, expensive mattresses.
Again, thank you very much for taking your time to leave the feedback.
This house definitely met our expectations and then some. The neighborhood is beautiful and the house was amazing and very clean. The pool was so enjoyable and the view every morning of the lake was so relaxing. I will definitely be back!!!
