Acadia National Park: Acadia National Park: In 1913, President Woodrow Wilson set aside 6000 acres (within what is now Acadia National Park) as Sieur de Monts National Monument. With the acquisition of more land and private support and funding, in 1919 President Wilson signed an act establishing Lafayette National Park. In 1929 the parks name was changed to Acadia. Acadia National Park was established to protect the area's spectacular scenic values, Maine's rock bound coast, its coastal and its offshore islands as characterized by the geologic features, natural history and the native plant and animal life. Forty five miles of rustic carriage roads weave around the mountains and through the valleys of Acadia National Park, the gift of philanthropist John D Rockefeller, Jr., and family. Rockefeller, a skilled horseman, desired to travel on motor free byways via horse and carriage into the heart of Mount Desert Island. His efforts resulted in roads with sweeping vistas and close up views of the landscape.
Cadillac Mountain: Cadillac Mountain: At 1,530 feet, Cadillac Mountain is not only the tallest mountain in Acadia National Park, but also the tallest mountain along the eastern coast of the United States. Rising high above the town of Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mountain offers magnificent views of the Porcupine Islands and Frenchman Bay. Explore the summit of this granite mountain along a .3-mile trail, which includes wayside exhibits about natural and human history. Portions of this trail are accessible to wheelchair users. Cadillac Mountain is accessible via a winding, narrow, 3.5-mile road. The road is closed from December 1 through April 14 and whenever weather conditions (e.g., dense fog or ice) require.

Such a fun family vacation at this perfect cabin on Beech Hill Pond! The cabin has everything we needed for a family of four, and we were able to truly enjoy our time in Maine!
Great place to stay! Close enough to Acadia, as well a great remote place to spend a day outside from morning to night. Small and quaint with everything you need!
What a gem…the cabin is cozy & cute, extremely clean & well appointed. The view is amazing, the sunsets on the lake, the loons, & the peacefulness are a few things that stand out.
Perfect Location for a small group to experience the way life should be. Cozy camp- with all modern convivences.Relaxing firepit (used every evening).Quite location - canoe, paddleboards & Kayaks- Dock & Float.
Peaceful setting to relax and enjoy Maine. The home was perfectly equipped for a large dinner of Surf and Turf! We would definitely stay at this home again!
This place is amazing!! The property sits on a quiet gravel road, and the views of the water are beautiful. We saw loons, ducks, turtles and otters from the deck! The house has everything you would need and the hosts went above and beyond by providing kayaks, canoes and paddleboards, along with firewood and bottled water! Communication was amazing and everything exceeded our expectations.Amazing location, property, cabin, and hosts! Highly recommend!!
Beautiful property on a crystal clear lake. Despite being dog-friendly, there were no signs or smells of dogs haven been there. Place was very clean and tidy. Kitchen was well-stocked. Couches were comfy. Nice outdoor seating areas. Close to Ellsworth restaurants, fairly close to Bar Harbor. Went in latter half of October, happy to still see the beautiful colors of fall. Only one small recommendation, update listing to include when dock is removed for the season. Really enjoyed the comfort and peace of this stay. Highly recommend!
My adult kids, Mom, pups and I had a great time at the cabin. The weather was not great the first few days so we went out explored the area, played games and watched movies. The lake is pristine and we took advantage of the owner provided paddle boards. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Can’t wait to go back when the weather warms up!
Wonderful camp, just magnificent views of the pond. The road was tough (unpaved), but it was so quiet. Again we went in October. Inside was very clean and nice, just like the photos they had on the website. We took drive to Bar Harbor very nice 👌
My family and dog stayed at this place in July and loved it. The pond/lake was literally in the front yard and Acadia was close by. The place comes with kayaks and canoe which made it even better. Couldnt reccomend any more
Our stay at this cabin was perfect for our family. Watching the pink sunrises across the lake each morning was breathtaking. I especially enjoyed sitting on the deck each morning reading my book and listening to the loons, and in the evenings sitting outside playing games. Our grandsons enjoyed fishing off the dock, my husband enjoyed kayaking and canoeing on the lake, and our golden lab enjoyed sunning herself on the deck. We hope to return to this location again. It would be beautiful in every season.
