With three cozy bedrooms featuring two queen beds and one twin bed, with one queen and one twin air mattress as well, there’s plenty of space for everyone to relax. The cabin stays comfortable year-round thanks to heating and air conditioning. Freshen up easily in the bathroom, which includes a shower and a hair dryer. Whether you’re gathering for a quiet night in or planning your next adventure, this perfect cabin offers a fabulous home base. You’re sure to make fantastic memories with a stay at our place. Birdwatching, kayaking, fishing, and outstanding dining opportunities close to home makes this cabin a rare opportunity to enjoy some downtime. Wine makes for the perfect evening drink watching the river at The Fishtales Riverhouse, and a backyard campfire makes it complete. This property is 19 mins as per Apple Maps to Aldi and 20 mins from Walmart, which are the closest grocery stores, so bring groceries with you to save time! The cabin was very clean, cozy, and peaceful! So relaxing being by the river. The kids loved kayaking. Loved that the cabin was out of town and had privacy. The host was very friendly and was timely on responses. We had to come down for my uncle's funeral and we realized that our family was from the same area as the host. Thanks again for letting us stay at your beautiful cabin! We plan on staying again in the future!

Cozy cottage on the river. Lovely swing to sit and watch the sun rise. Quiet, but make sure you bring groceries as there is not a store. We had to go about 30 minutes to get food. Only one restaurant in the town.

Originally from Silverton, Oregon, now I live in Cissna Park IL. I love rivers and water, and I spent a lifetime exploring many different parts of the US. I am a fisherman, I've been married to my wife Maria for 27 years, and I have four children who are also involved in the outdoors. I am a Paramedic and Educator by trade, have a Bachelors from Eastern Illinois University, and recently bought and restored this beautiful Riverhouse cabin for my family and friends to enjoy.

Why they chose this property

The Fishtales Riverhouse is along the Iroquois River, which flows north to Lake Michigan, and is full of life. Birds, Fish, Squirrels, Turkeys, all kinds of wildlife and really cool neighbors and people live by the cabin. It feels like you are in the woods, yet Riverside Medical Center and shopping, groceries, fuel, and anything you really need are very close.

What makes this property unique

It is located in the heart of the most unique place around East Central Illinois- the Iroquois River. It isnt fancy, it isnt Ritzy, but for me its perfect as a getaway any time of year.
