About the host
Your host
Hi! My name is Ingrid, and my husband Jon and I have been managing this property on and off since 2015. Wild Iris Retreat is one of a kind, and we have been honored through the years to share this special spot with our guests! We also manage a small guest house in Healdsburg. We love exploring nature, being on the water, and offering our daughter a nature based childhood.
Why they chose this property
Wild Iris Retreat has been in my husband's family for over 20 years. It is truly a unique respite away from the hustle and bustle of the Bay Area, yet only 2 hours from the Golden Gate Bridge! When you do manage to venture out, there are world class wineries and restaurants in Boonville, which is 15 minutes away, or in the town of Philo, just at the end of the driveway.
Things we love: Pennyroyal Farm- for wine and cheese tastings, and goats! Beautiful vistas Roederer Estate- for French sparkling in a newly renovated space. They are the makers of Cristal! Same quality wines, California style. Boonville Hotel- for an always delicious meal. Jumbo's Win Win- The best locally sourced fast food!
What makes this property unique
Wild Iris Retreat is truly special. It's a private nature playground. We have a huge pool, stone hot tub for 8 (or more!), and hiking trails to a swimming hole all to yourself. If you want to unplug and have a verdant space to allow your children to safely run wild, this is the place. You can hunt for (edible!) mushrooms, chase lizards, spent the day at the swimming hole, hike to the mother Redwood which you can get inside, or just relax and barbeque next to the pool, all on your own private estate.
