OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

First Light Landing is located in the Smoky Mountains, which means you may occasionally see local wildlife such as black bears, raccoons, or deer. Please do not leave food, coolers, or trash outside and never approach wildlife.

The cabin is accessed via a short mountain road with three switchbacks, which is common for properties with beautiful views. Most vehicles handle the drive easily, but AWD or 4WD is recommended during winter months if snow or ice are present.

The hot tub is drained, cleaned, and refilled between guest stays. Because of this, it may take a few hours to fully reach temperature after check-in.

Propane is provided for the grill and fire pit. If a tank runs empty during your stay, replacements can be exchanged locally at nearby gas stations or stores.

This is a quiet mountain setting, perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature. Cell service can vary in the mountains, but the cabin includes high-speed WiFi for reliable connectivity.

We had a wonderful stay at First Light Landing! The cabin was extremely clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the mountain views were incredible. One of our favorite parts was sitting outside in the morning coffee in hand and watching the sunrise over the mountains. The outdoor amenities really made the stay special. We loved using the sauna, hot tub, and cold plunge. It felt like having our own private mountain spa. The deck had also just been freshly stained and everything outside looked beautiful and well cared for.The location was perfect for us. It felt very peaceful and private surrounded by the woods, but we were still close enough to Gatlinburg and everything we wanted to do. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it!

The drive up to the cabin is a bit steep with a couple of sharp switch backs so I think it would be difficult with a large vehicle. The cabin was very private. There aren’t any neighbors close by which is a plus. When we arrived we had some issues getting into the cabin with the lock and code. I reached out to the host and he was able to get us in and made sure it was working for us. The cabin was very clean and had a relaxing environment. The beds had a type of memory foam mattress but they were very firm. My husband recently had spine surgery so a little too firm for us but not a deal breaker. It was a short distance to get to Gatlinburg downtown. Overall this is a beautiful place and would recommend for a peaceful getaway.

Thank you so much for the kind review, Amy! We truly appreciate your patience with the check-in upon arrival and are glad we were able to get everything resolved quickly so you could enjoy your stay. We've since updated the entry instructions to make the process even smoother for future guests. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the privacy, cleanliness, relaxing atmosphere, and convenient location near downtown Gatlinburg. Thank you as well for mentioning the mattress firmness. Feedback like that helps future guests know what to expect. It was a pleasure hosting you and your husband, and we'd love to welcome you back to First Light Landing anytime you're looking for another peaceful Smoky Mountain getaway. Safe travels and thank you again for choosing First Light Landing! — Felipe & Mel

The mountain views are incredible! Especially in the morning. And the whole outdoor spa setup was our favorite part. Having the sauna, cold plunge, and hot tub overlooking the mountains was amazing. We were also pleasantly surprised to find an outdoor shower that wasn’t even in the photos yet. It made going between everything outside so convenient and really completed the private spa experience.Inside has a great vibe too. We loved putting records on, and being able to connect our own music through Bluetooth was a nice touch. The kitchen and coffee setup had pretty much everything we needed, including several different ways to make coffee. One thing worth knowing is that the final drive up to the cabin is steep. We had no problem getting there, but I would definitely recommend AWD during the fall when there are a lot of leaves on the road or in the winter if there’s any chance of snow or ice. The drive up is completely worth it once you get there. It’s incredibly peaceful and the views are beautiful.Awesome place to unplug and relax for a few days. We’d absolutely stay here again and are already looking forward to coming back.
