The cabin was a bit smaller than expected, but it was only 3 of us, so it worked out well. The views were very beautiful, the hot tub was very nice as well. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much.
Lovely spot! So close to Glacier National Park entrance. The cabin was cozy and well stocked. We loved the comfy beds and hot tub after a long hike. Thanks for sharing your place with our family!
Spent 2 nights. Very clean nice cabin. Fire pit and grill were great to have, hot tub could be better, jets did not work. Good location near the park. Private with no interruptions from neighbors, does sit kind of close to road. Very little hot water so take a quick shower. Overall nice place.
Property was ok. Owner showed up as we were unpacking and seemed rather abrasive for some reason. I’m the owner! How many in your party? Water supply is a problem. Be sure to shower before entering the hot tub! He didn’t seem happy about us being there.

Thank you, Barbara, for your review. We greatly apologize if we sounded abrasive upon your arrival. We certainly were not trying to come across abrasive but just wanted to give you a few helpful tidbits to help with a fantastic stay at the property. We do make it a point to meet all our guests who arrive and welcome them to the property. We would also like to take this time to explain things about the property that will help you have a better experience with no surprises. We have been in the vacation rental business for a long time and like to cover all the bases for a positive fun stay. We do recommend that you shower prior to jumping into the hot tub as lotions, sunblock, bug spray and body sweat can change the PH in the water and cloud the water quickly. This is common with hot tub rental properties. Our water supply has not been a problem on the property, but by notifying our guest about Mountain well water and not city water, helps with the experience. Unfortunately, we have been taken advantage of in the past with more guests arriving on the property than what was originally reserved for. Therefore, we try to confirm this guest count at times. We apologize if our questions and information did not make you feel welcome, it most certainly was not our intent. Thank you for taking great care of the property and for choosing to stay with us.
We loved our stay here! The cabin was very clean and the owners even left us some snacks and bear spray to take on our hikes. You can't beat the location of this cozy cabin, it feels secluded enough while still being close to Glacier and towns with restaurants! Highly recommend staying here and the hot tub is a huge bonus!
We couldn’t have loved our stay more! We are locals and montana with a view never gets old! Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer! My kids didn’t want to leave either!
The property was perfect location to enjoy getting away from hustle&bustle of one of
most visited parks in the world. An easy 15
minute drive to West Glacier park entrance and only 25minute drive to extensive gourmet restaurants in Whitefish. The hot tub was just the ticket for post
hike aches&pains! The Chalet is small and layout a bit cumbersome. The top floor is steep&narrow ‘A’ frame with 2queen and one single bed and no bathroom. One queen bed in room with access through other room to get to stairs. I’m 5’8” and bumped my head accessing cabinets against 3.5ft side walls of ‘A’ frame ceiling. There were two rooms on upper level and small compared to luxurious master suite on ground floor. You have to walk down stairs and pass through master suite to access hot tub.. The stairs to upper level are narrow with 90 degree turn half way and last step at top is different higher depth. Sturdy hand rail was a must use going up and down. No doors on either stairs for privacy and noise control. The is no central heat or AC and window AC unit in one of upper level rooms prevented opening window for that fresh mountain air.
Entry from driveway to 2nd level 5 steps to door. Main floor total luxury but cramped if large party. We pushed some furniture to side to allow easier flow. Main level bathroom (for upper level Bedrooms) is next to entry and at top of stairs leading down to master suite, thus noisy if high use for master suite.
The Chalet has all the needed appliances(except no toaster!), a complete kitchen and comfortable furniture. All of beds were very high quality and NOT worn out! There arefabulous covered porches off main level and master suite level.
The owners were very attentive and helped us with a car problem above and beyond expectations!
Despite height limitations and bathroom access to upper level bedrooms, we loved the Chalet. If you’re a light sleeper looking for a quiet get away with a large party, this may not fit the bill.
For a small party you can spread out easily and this Chalet is the total package. A large party that would fill all beds would be cramped, but like they say in the vacation business>location-location-location. Loved the Chalet!
A great cozy cabin right outside of Glacier National Park. Location is excellent. Extremely clean and well kept. Owners are attentive. Easy check in, well stocked kitchen, robes for the hot tub, and great views. The cabin is a bit dark on the main floor but it is a cabin! There is a washer and dryer but you are limited how much you can use them because you have to wait for the well water to refill. We came with 4 adults and showers were not a problem. We washed clothes at night to not interfere with any other water usage. Probably the reason for no dish washer. That is mountain living. Small price to pay for such grandiose!
We loved every minute at the cabin! The master bedroom is huge and the decor throughout is exactly what you want from a cabin in Montana. The location was perfect for exploring the West side of Glacier. We traveled during Covid and so the East side was closed but, even if it was open, the cabin would have still been great for exploring there, too. Close enough to restaurants/grocery stores but far enough to have privacy and a beautiful view. Hard to tell from the listing but this cabin is across the street from the other Reclusive Moose cabins. There are no neighbors to be seen and the views from the back porch were perfect. Great stay! Wish I was there right now.
We loved this private cozy cabin! It was just what we were looking for in a place to stay near Glacier. Super clean, quaint, minutes to park entrance, nice view from back deck. Kitchen was well stocked with all of the essentials. Would highly recommend staying here.

Glacier Retreat
This was our first trip to Montana, and the five of us were not disappointed. We stayed 8 days at the Glacier View Chalet on the Reclusive Moose Cabin's property. The home was clean and well-appointed with a million dollar view from the back porch looking into Glacier National Park. We spent several days dayhiking in Glacier, including the iconic Highline Trail. The scenery is just stunning, and we saw mountain goats, bighorn sheep, a black bear with cub, mule deer, red fox, marmot and white-tail deer. We also spent a full day rafting the Middle Fork of the Flathead River and just taking in the crystal clear waters and solitude. When we weren't doing these activities we would take a down day and just ride the bikes that came with the house a mile down the road to the Blankenship Bridge where the North Fork and the Middle Fork of the Flathead River meet and swim, fish or just explore. At night, we sat in the hot tub and star gazed. We had to wait until around 10:30 pm at that time of the year for it to get dark, but it was well worth the wait since we saw night skies like no other. There is so little light pollution here that we saw clouds of stars like what is seen in astronomy magazines. Several shooting star sightings were a bonus. Christie and Ryan checked in on us on the first day to see if all was OK, and were very helpful in suggesting activities, restaurants, hikes, food shopping and other information, but made sure to give us plenty of privacy also. I would recommend this vacation and property to anyone who loves the outdoors, but would also like to retire to a comfortable home each night. The Big Sky state certainly lived up to its name, and the people here also have big hearts and very friendly. Look forward to coming back again someday.

Perfect Montana Retreat
The Glacier Chalet was the perfect place to call home while visiting Montana. After a long day of hiking or coffee on the back deck, the view was exactly what was needed. All of the amenities inside were modern, yet fit right in with the Montana environment. Our family of 5 fit perfectly with plenty of room. The short drive to the park allowed us to enjoy time with each other without having to spend a lot of time in the car. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and would go back in a heart beat. Thank you for opening your home and making it feel like ours!

Family Friendly cabin in excellent location!
Our family of 5(2 adults and 3 kids, ages 10, 13,15) loved our stay at Glacier Chalet! Communication with owners were excellent, and we had zero issues with Chalet. Location to West Glacier entrance was excellent(15/20 mins) and several restaurants same distance that were good. Beds were comfortable and it was very clean. Loved waking up to Mountains out our window! Kitchen well supplied and while there was warning that water runs out, we had no issues with 5 people for showers. We timed doing laundry during the day while out. Our favorite part of Chalet was drinking coffee or having a cocktail on the back porch over looking the view. We loved having bikes to take a quick ride to the river for a dip, that was a bonus! Wifi worked well despite being in wilderness, and we would stay here again and again! One of the best homeaway.com properties we have ever had! My kids were sad to leave!

My favorite place
Ever since we stayed at the Reclusive Moose I have been pining for our stay and trying to find a way to return.
The house was perfectly appointed with every last detail considered. An amazing kitchen and a great common area. Hands down the best part of the stay was meals ( morning coffee... dinner ) on the deck. A view of the park and wildlife to boot.
Christie was a great host, and we followed her suggestions on where to cool off in the nearby river and lake.
Great locale; not only for access to the West access to Glacier but also to the North Fork area of the park.
I cannot recommend this spot highly enough. So wish that I was back there right now.

What a great place, conveniently located to explore the park!
Great rooms, comfortable appointments, lovely owners. You can't go wrong using this place as base camp for exploring Glacier N.P. Great view, fabulous back porch, and a hot tub. Did I mention there's a hot tub? ;)

Curt
We had the pleasure of staying at this chalet for five nights. Close to town and GNP. Home was comfortable for us four retirees. Out and about all day and like being at home in the evenings. The last night off the deck we watched two whitetail does come into the back yard to eat. Owners were both helpful and full of information that helped us enjoy our stay. I would indeed recommend this property.

Great accommodations and hosts
This glacier view chalet was very nice. Decorated nicely. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the back having our breakfast with a view of the forest and animals. There was a nice picnic table and BBQ in front where we had dinner every evening. The master bedroom was extremely nice. The upstairs was a little warm but the hosts provided three fans which cooled us down. Nice bedding. Great location. Enjoyed our stay and would return here! Good find
We fell in love with Glacier National Park after spending a summer working in the park almost 20 years ago. We decided to call Montana home after a few summers hiking, rafting, bicycling and snowboarding. We are outdoor enthusiast that love what Montana has to offer. We are happy to share our many experiences and love for Glacier with you.
Why they chose this property
We chose this home for its location to the West Entrance of Glacier National Park and the short distance to access the Middle & North Fork of the Flathead river (only a mile away). The cabin views amaze us everyday. We also fell in love with its character & history to this area. This cabin was originally a homestead cabin with no foundation. Timbers logged from the property. We took great pride in keeping its character while remodeling the property and home.
What makes this property unique
Wildlife frequent the area daily. You may see the reclusive moose or a deer family wondering by while sitting on the front porch. From here you can listen to the birds sing their tune nightly.
