We had a wonderful stay here. Our host Martha was very communicative and helpful, she gave great recommendations for things to do in the area. We are an active family and this location could not be beat for all the things we like to do (biking, hiking, swimming, climbing, family night out). The cabin is compact and rustic but well appointed and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed morning coffee on the porch and evening fires in the front years. The place definitely has the charm of a well loved family treasure. Thank you for sharing it with us, we will be back!

We love staying at the A frame this was our 2nd time since October and already have our 3rd time planned and trying to decide our 4th. As a family of 2 adults, a teenager and a puppy we loved how close everything was from shopping to taking walks on trails to just hanging out either by the firepit or the wood stove. Let me tell you we even our puppy loved that wood stove even on a rainy night- As a mom I never felt so relaxed that I even read a book, my teen did diamond painting, and the boyfriend will the rain didn't bother him as he enjoyed his time bbqing lol. We laughed so hard playing card game, watching movies and just spending time as a family. Last time in October we went trick or treating at story land. This trip we went to Clark's to see the bears. Next time we already have plans to tube saco and cranmore coaster. And of course shopping!!!

This Aframe was built by my father in 1962 while help building The Massa-Schussers Ski Lodge in Glen. Living in Mass and traveling up to a ski lodge every weekend with kids in tow made them realize they wanted something permanent.
My parents loved the outdoors, skiing every weekend, and hiking and swimming most other weekends. At the time the aframe construction was affordable for a family of 6 with only one income. Very simple living, and always one bathroom. Its very functional ,with and open kitchen (no cabinets), so my mother could see easily what was needed. That has not changed. The area has grown in with many permanent houses but it’s still far enough from town and quiet to enjoy. I love the surrounding area for hiking biking and swimming! And of course shopping!

Why they chose this property

The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Our Aframe was the third house built on the main street, so we've seen alot of houses making it into a residential area. There are trails off the main road leading to mountain bike trails , the mineral sites and even up to middle Moat Mountain. The Moat Range is clearly seen from road and the side streets make it great for walks any time of day.

What makes this property unique

the location is quite nice. its off rt 16, to avoid alot of the traffic but easy to get to center of town for shopping, etc.
