Bear Mountain retreat

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an amazing time!!! The location was perfect and the view was breath taking. The only down side was the hot tub wasn't working. We called for service. They did come out to look at it but said it needed to be serviced by the vendor so we didn't get to enjoy that. All other amenities were impressive.

Bear Mountain Retreat was a beautiful, cozy hideaway, that looks just as described in pictures and videos. It was very clean and well-appointed. Its location is fast access to Gatlinburg, the Sugarlands entrance to the NP, and to the Gatlinburg By-pass (to P Forge or the other end of Galinburg). Among the many pluses are the sweet cabin and a magnificent view! The mountains above and the valley below are eye-candy, for sure, and the log cabin is quite attractive inside. “Good to know” is that the road in is a little twisty, but all rentals in the Ski Mtn Rd area have curvy roads, and a weather/terrain vehicle would be a plus. Also, the bears are active in the area daily, even visiting the rentals’ decks in the area, so do keep your eyes open and kids close, as well as your vehicles locked and all food inside. (Who knew that bears know how to open car doors??? But they do! Don’t ask how we know—lol!) One additional detail to note is that the second bedroom is a full-size bed only, not queen. So if your party is two adult couples, please be prepared to use the living room sleeper sofa, or other sleep setups in the cabin, as there is not a true second primary bedroom. The game room was fantastic, as was the three bath setup. All in all our stay was relaxing and amazing! We’ll definitely come back to the sweet little Bear Mountain Retreat!
