OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW

ARRIVAL - We will reach out prior to your arrival to coordinate a meet up time for you to check in. Being on a sizable body of water, our agreement with the township and our neighbors and that we don’t live on property, all guests must be escorted by us down to the property (even if you stayed with us before) and no check ins are allowed after times stated below. Not only because we need to escort you, we are remote and it is very very dark down there at night with no lights and being along the water is a safety risk after dark when unfamiliar. Sorry, no exceptions. If you can't make it by the times stated below you will need to arrive the next day and contact us to coordinate a time. Refunds will not be given for the previous night.
Memorial Day weekend - Aug 15 - escorted check in by 8:00 pm; Aug 16 - Labor Day weekend escorted check in by 7:30 pm;
Post Labor Day weekend - Sept 20 - escorted check in by 7:00 pm; Sept 21 - October 10 - escorted check in by 6:30 pm;
Oct 11 - October 31 - escorted check in by 6:00 pm.

PARKING - To preserve the grass, all vehicles or visitor's vehicles must park in designated gravel area near barn-like structure.

CHECK OUT TIMES - Check out is by 11:00 unless otherwise prearranged. We offer late check out or early check in for a fee as we would need to re-arrange our normal work schedules (we are not a business). Inquire if interested. You must notify us when you are leaving. Property and camper must be left as you found it. Leave No Trace.

GREY/BLACK WATER HOLDING TANKS - Although large, they only hold so much. We will pump you out every 3 days in the evening if staying more than 3 nights. If only staying 2-3 nights, these tanks are more than enough to last providing you are sensitive to your water consumption. For example: Turn on water to wet your toothbrush, turn it off while brushing and on to rinse, etc. Same with shower. On to get wet, off to lather, on to rinse. If pump out is required during 2-3 night stay or before scheduled pump out for longer stays, cost is $35.

SAFETY: WATER ACTIVITIES - There are no guard rails along seawall and thewall is 2-4' above the water, depending time of year and rainfall, etc. Water is shallow along sea wall and lined w/rocks, many submerged. No diving/jumping off sea wall. No lifeguard on duty. Children must be supervised at all times.River has strong current at certain times (more early in the season) or after much rain.Enter water, boat orswim isat your own risk. Property is in a no wake zone but boaters don't always follow.

GARBAGE - VERY IMPORTANT. The road leading to our property, Limberlost Ln, is an unincorporated private road that includes some state owned property near the bridge. Being private and unincorporated, some homeowners need to put their garbage cans on state property in order to get it picked up. PLEASE DO NOT put any of your garbage in those blue bins/cans even though those cans may be on state property near MDOT signs. They ARE NOT state owned cans. They belong to private homeowners that pay for that service and they have kindly asked us to ask our guests not to use their cans. Please use the trash cans on our property or take trash with you. All trash in our can must be bagged and tied as we take it down to our own home to dispose of with our trash service.

ALSO: We are not a commercial business. However, there are rules that must be adhered to per agreement with township and neighbors along our shared private road.

THINGS TO DO

Bring a kayak, paddle board, raft, etc. Drop in at west end of property or use Connor Bayou kayak specific boat launch that is the property right next door but you need to drive out to main road to get to it. Does not connect to our property.

If you have your own boat or jet ski's etc, there are public launches nearby and you can go all the way to Lake Michigan (about 40 minutes) or go to a boat launch closer to town for faster access.

If you have bikes you are bringing, there is a great bike path just out at the main road that you can bike to from property.

Spring Lake, Lake Michigan, beaches, various state/county parks, downtown Grand Haven's shops, restaurants and festivals are just a short drive away. Approx. 15-20 minutes away. Holland is about 30 minutes south and also has a cute downtown, craft beers, and beaches. PJ Hoffmaster State Park is 30 minutes North. If you are a thrill seeker Michigan's Adventure Amusement and Waterpark is only 40 minutes North in Muskegon. There are also many wineries, ciders and craft beer in Southwest Michigan. And many blueberry farms around too. Grand Rapids is also only 35-40 minutes east. Bottom line....there is plenty of things to do and see during your visit to the area...or not. Totally up to you.

About the host

Originally from Chicago, I have been coming up here since I was a child. This is where my love for the outdoors / water activities were formed. My parents still own the little house at the far East end of the property (we have 3 parcels total). My husband, Doug, grew quite fond of the area too and we've shared many fun times with family and friends. We have been fortunate to move up to Grand Haven full time, living only 10 minutes away from the property. We all decided why not share a little piece of this with all of you. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

This is our little slice of heaven along the Grand River in Grand Haven, MI. Our property is at the end of a private road and has been in the family for decades. We have 3 parcels. One of which the family still has a home on. One has an RV on that we rent out (this listing) and the far West parcel is just land that we rent for others to bring their own RV (Hipcamp). We fondly refer to it as One Grand Place. It is close enough to town but far enough away for peace, quiet and relaxation.

Spring Lake, Lake Michigan, beaches, various state/county parks, downtown Grand Haven's shops, restaurants and festivals are just a short drive away. Approx. 20 minutes away. Bottom line....there is plenty of things to do and see during your visit...or not. Totally up to you.

What makes this property unique

Location! Location! Location.
We are not a campground and we are not a business. This is a fun hobby for us that we enjoy bringing other people joy and a place to come to that is not a crowded campground. A place you have all to yourself where you can feel you have your very own summer place away from home. You can do as much as you want in the area or truly just check out and relax. And I must say, we have some of the most spectacular sunsets!!
