Beautiful hidden Waterfront Retreat with Rocky Beach
Newly Renovated In 2025. Linekin Bay Lookout is a private East Boothbay deckhouse set above Linekin Bay, where pines, tidewater, and sunset light define the stay. This 3-bedroom, 2-bath home pairs classic Maine warmth - vaulted wood ceilings, exposed beams, broad windows, and wood floors - with the simple pleasures guests come here for: coffee on the deck, seafood on the grill, and a private wooded path through the pines to the rocky tidal shore. The upstairs living level is the heart of the home. The living room looks out toward the bay and opens to the long second-floor deck, which connects the living area and primary bedroom. Gather under the vaulted ceiling, cook in the adjacent kitchen, linger over dinner by the glass doors, or, after a day on the water, step outside to watch the sun set over Linekin Bay. The home sleeps up to five guests. Upstairs, the primary bedroom has a king bed, deck access, bay views, a dressing area, and a newly updated bathroom with a tiled walk-in shower. Downstairs are two additional bedrooms - one queen and one double - plus a second updated full bath, laundry room, and family room, giving couples, small families, or friends on a quiet getaway room to gather and space to retreat. The setting feels secluded but still connected. Pick up freshly baked muffins or cinnamon buns from East Boothbay General Store just down the road, head into Boothbay Harbor for restaurants, shops, boat tours, whale watching, and harbor walks, or spend the day at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. Head to Ocean Point for classic coastal walks, salt-air views, ocean swims, and a glimpse of Ram Island Light, guarding the eastern entrance to Boothbay Harbor and the mouth of the Damariscotta River. Bigelow Laboratory is also within walking distance of the home, making Linekin Bay Lookout a practical and peaceful East Boothbay base for visiting scientists, researchers, public-event guests, seasonal staff, and others spending extended time in the region. With Wi-Fi, Ethernet, a dedicated workspace, and a quiet setting among the pines, the home is also well suited to remote work, writing, reflection, or a longer coastal stay.
Good to know: The shoreline below the home is private, natural Maine coast - rocky and tidal rather than sandy. It is a beautiful place for tide-watching, rock-hopping, and quiet time by the water; water shoes are recommended for low-tide exploring.

The property has everything you could possibly need and is in a wonderful location. Although the home is a little older, we were very comfortable. It was a wonderful retreat for our family of three!

Relaxing stay
Great home with charme. Great location, nice views. All you need was there, a dishwasher was missed in the beginning, but wasn‘t really a problem . We all enjoyed our stay very much.

Very private and peaceful
This is a great location in a private setting. You can fish off the dock or be "in town" in a matter of minutes. This is our second time staying in this house and it won't be our last!

Amazing stay
Such a beautiful, clean home. We where so excited when we walked through the doors and sad to leave. There was so much privacy and the surrounding town is adorable. Thank you providing such an amazing home to relax and have a great stay! I hope to find myself back here in the future.

Perfect vacation location
Loved the setting. The view of the bay, the proximity to one of the best seafood restaurants and the nostalgia. It's a short drive form Booothbay and 3 miles from the supermarket. Because of its woodsy location, have plenty of bug repellent on hand.

Beautiful older house and great location!
Overall, everything was lovely- beautiful water front property, well stocked (games, puzzles, books, kitchenware) and lovely artwork too! There are some quirks about an older waterfront home- a bit musty and damp indoors.

Hi, Shannon! We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at Linekin Bay Lookout. There is a dehumidifier constantly running in the home to help with the damp. Thank you!

Cosy, but car dependant
The house was nicely equipped, beds were comfortable, view of bay nice. Not pedestrian or bike friendly, however, and the photos don't show how far down it is to the water.
The property was perfect - and the views from the porch and dock were amazing. We really enjoyed our stay. We went to Coastal Botanical Gardens to see the trolls, walked along the end of Ocean Point Road and admired the views, had a delicious lobster roll at the Lobsterman's Wharf and pizza from Boothbay Harbor House of Pizza. Not great response from the property manager (Vacasa) but other than that, we would recommend this spot.

Secluded retreat
The house was lovely. The view was nice. It was great to see the ocean from the dock down the hill at the house. In July or August I could have gone for a quick swim off the dock. My only negative is the bedrooms in the basement are musty.
Well provisioned, ample space, quiet, great view of the bay. Lower level is damp this time of year despite running the dehumidifiers. Really nice place that could have used a little more attention this time ahead of our arrival.

Great view
We manage vacation rentals in Hawaii so we know what to expect. I was extremely surprised to see how clean the house was as a have a high standard. The bed was comfortable as well as the whole house. Enjoyed seeing some local wild life on the property and walking through the woods down to the dock. We would rent here again. Aloha and Mahalo

Old home with nice views
This house has great views, a nice dock and was in a good location in Boothbay. The basement was musty; it cleared out a bit by the end of our stay, but with an older home that’s rented I would think the owners would provide a permanent fix. The basement also needed more than one dehumidifier - it was humid and moist for our full stay, so the upstairs was the only enjoyable area.

By far the worst house we have ever stayed in!!!!
This house needs a lot of TLC and DEEP cleaning. The mildew will chase you out of the house which it did for us!!!

Response from VrboOwner on 19 Aug 2025
Hi Lynda, thank you for sharing your feedback. Since your stay, the house has been fully renovated, including a brand-new basement with new floors, updated bathrooms, and a dehumidification and air purification system. We’re confident these updates have created a much fresher and more comfortable space, and we’d love the chance to welcome you back to experience the improvements.

Ideal original Maine vacation home with picturesque view.
Great view through the glass ocean facing wall. This house was built in 1990 and has been maintained if not upgraded much (The Bosch dishwasher is an exception). Everything worked well enough. Internet was a little tricky sometimes and some windows are in need of a little love. East Boothbay is a charming coastal village. 5 minute drive from all essentials (Hannafords). The kids enjoyed it. We would rent here again for sure.
