Another wonderful week in Booth Bay
We have been returning to the Hidden Gem for the last 4 summers and find the home pleasant, clean and comfortable. We are an older couple who do not use the local water access, too steep of a walk for us, but find access to local beaches and restaurants a treat. Only one day of rain where we enjoyed the comforts of the home to read, talk, eat and watch deer in the back yard. We love the Booth Bay area and enjoy returning to this home for a week every year.
Very very impressive! Excellent place to stay. The cleanliness was impeccable. I would highly recommend staying here and i would stay again. The house is private and tucked away nicely in the woods and a 5 minute walk or 1 minute drive to the ocean.
Wooded setting is very nice and quiet in a well maintained house. Convenient to Boothbay Harbor, East Boothbay, and Maine Botanical Gardens. A list of nearby hiking trails would be useful. Lots of nearby restaurants. We liked Shannon's Unshelled, Thistle Inn, and Carriage House. Linekin/Burley hike was rugged but very good on Ocean Point Rd.

Nice house, No "on site" beach/dock
Advertised that there is on site ocean and dock access. The beach and dock are community shared and and half a mile away. House was nice and secluded.
Nice spot! A little dated but clean! Everything was great but lack of air conditioning is an issue when temperatures are high - adding a/c would make this a great place - unfortunately I wouldn’t take a chance again during summer months but would stay again in the off season when that was not an issue
Loved our stay! Home was spacious enough for me and my husband. Centrally located to so much of what Boothbay and surrounding towns offer. Land is private, neighbors are quiet, and it is just a short walk to the dock. Very clean and kitchen was stocked with cooking utensils and nice pans. We visited over the Fourth of July, so the sun rises early. First morning the room was so bright at 4am. Some people dont mind this and we had no problem covering up windows so we could sleep in since we came from mountain time. Highly recommend hidden gem and would absolutely stay here again.

Hi Melissa, thank you for providing us with this valuable feedback, we are so glad that you had a wonderful time at our beautiful home!
We had a great stay. Felt comfortable right from the start. Clean, open space with everything to have a nice stay, relax and recharge. We had a few warm nights, so we would have liked air conditioning, but we brought a small fan to aid air coming into the bedroom from the windows above the bed which helped, along with the two fans provided, to cool to comfortable sleeping temperature. Restaurants down town are good and we’re handling the large number of visitors. One caution, all of the restaurants close at 8:00, so you need to plan for early dinner. We found Pemaquid Beach, 45 minutes from the house, to be clean and warmer than Popham Beach. Great spot to swim and there were many families with children. We love this area and the house provided a great place to relax before and after exploring.

Liked: Check-in, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Communication
Nice location
We had gotten a text saying that the house was ready for early check in. That was great but when we got there, we saw dead small gnat size bugs all along the floor corners and window seals. A quarter was even left on the floor in the bedroom and a used bar of soap in the shower. How well was this place cleaned?
Anyhow, we still enjoyed our stay. The ocean front/beach area is very small. You could possibly lay out on the dock. No sandy beach at all. We enjoyed the half mile walk to the dock and walked the 2 trails. There was no fire pit on the property as described. We did not get any personal message from the rental person. This is the first time this has happened to us but it's also the first time booking with Vacasa.
