Guerneville Dog-Friendly Forest Hideaway near Downtown
Summary:
Walk half a mile to downtown Guerneville's eclectic restaurants and Johnson's Beach from this dog-friendly home built in 2014 on Old River Road. Two bedrooms sleep 6, with mini-split AC in every room, multiple decks among the redwoods, and a gas grill for backyard dinners. Korbel Winery, Northwood Golf Course, and Armstrong Redwoods sit within three miles. Note: multiple stairs lead to the front door.
The Space:
Spend mornings strolling half a mile to Coffee Bazaar and downtown Guerneville, afternoons floating the Russian River from Johnson's Beach or tasting at Korbel Winery two miles up the road, and evenings catching a pint at Stumptown Brewery three-quarters of a mile away. Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve and Northwood Golf Course are both an easy three-mile drive.
Sink into the sofa or loveseat in the open living room, where a wall-mounted flatscreen anchors movie nights and colorful artwork plays off the turquoise walls. Board games stack nearby for slower evenings in.
Cook on the gas range with stainless appliances at the ready, then pull up one of three stools at the peninsula so the chef stays in the conversation. Pendant lights warm the workspace while a window above the sink pulls forest light across the counters.
Retreat to the dining table for a long dinner with the day's bottles, the kitchen glowing just steps away.
OUTDOOR LIVING
Step onto the upper deck for morning coffee in the Adirondack chairs, with two cushioned loungers and a shade umbrella waiting once the sun climbs. Drop down to the lower deck to fire up the gas grill and settle into the wicker seating, wire-mesh railings keeping the evergreen canopy in full view. Kids claim the swing, slide, and play structure in the yard.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
Two bedrooms sleep up to 6:
- Bedroom 1: 2 Queen beds, wall-mounted TV, sliding glass door to the deck
- Bedroom 2: 1 Queen bed

Please note: multiple stairs lead to the front door, which may challenge guests with mobility considerations.
Guest Access:
Step inside turquoise-and-purple interiors and out onto multi-level decks among the redwoods — Russian River with a personality. You've got the whole home, dogs welcome, in a forest setting that gives complete privacy. Punch in the keypad code at the door, and tuck two cars on-site.
The Neighborhood:
You've landed in the heart of Guerneville's walkable Old River Road neighborhood, where the Russian River lifestyle unfolds right outside your door. Stroll 5 minutes to Coffee Bazaar Cafe (0.3 mi) for your morning espresso, or continue another minute to downtown's eclectic dining scene. Choose from Trillium Winebar & Taproom (0.4 mi), boon eat + drink (0.4 mi) for seasonal New American fare, or grab authentic tacos from The Hot Box BBQ (0.4 mi). Johnson's Beach — the epicenter of summer river fun with tube rentals and sandy shores — sits just half a mile away. Stock up on provisions at nearby Safeway (0.6 mi) or the closer MD Liquor and Food (0.4 mi). Wine lovers can reach Korbel Winery's historic champagne cellars in under 5 minutes by car (1.4 mi), while the ancient giants of Armstrong Redwoods await just 3 miles north. For evening entertainment, Stumptown Brewery (0.75 mi) offers craft beers with river views.
Getting Around:
Guerneville is about 90 minutes from San Francisco via 101 and River Road — a scenic drive through vineyards and into the redwoods. You'll have parking for 2 vehicles in the driveway. A car makes the Russian River Valley easy to explore, from redwood trails to riverside wineries. Cell service gets patchy in the redwoods, so downloading offline maps before you arrive is worth it.
Other Things to Note:
The home's mini-split AC system in each room keeps you comfortable during warm summer days when temperatures can reach the 90s. Your furry friends are welcome here with space for up to 4 dogs to enjoy the forest setting. The play structure with swing and slide makes this ideal for families. Take advantage of the board games for cozy evenings after river adventures. The primary renter must be 21 or older. While the home sits among beautiful trees, the multi-level deck design and stairs to the front entrance may challenge those with mobility limitations — please consider this when booking to ensure everyone in your group can navigate comfortably.

It was a birthday weekend away with family and the space was the icing in the cake! Had everything I was looking for this weekend. The space was clean and well appointed: fenced in yard for my dog; great location; plenty of parking and easy, stress free communication. I would definitely come back again!

Great Place!
A really nice place in Guerneville. Great location, only a 10min walk from the downtown too, thanks again for having us!
Such a great little spot! Perfect location, easy to find, super fair price and checkout asks are incredibly minimal which is such a nice element of hospitality you don’t see often in home rentals. It has everything you need for a guerneville getaway. Thank you!

We had a great 3 night stay in Guerneville. The house was pristine when we arrived. We travel with our dog, and it was perfect for him. The deck area is fully fenced and gated. The location is superb. Downtown is an easy walk. We would definitely recommend it.

Great river getaway
We loved staying here. The AC got us through the heatwave and the location was perfect-close to town and river spots! The home was comfortable and the perfect place to recharge after all of our river adventures. Would love to stay here again!
The best location in town! Getting Ubers or taxis can be really hard out there but this house is less than a 10 minute walk to downtown and the beach so it’s perfect for enjoying all the great restaurants, coffee shops and bars. We loved it!

Beautiful and peaceful
The layout is perfect for traveling with someone. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, the space is nicely decorated and clean. It felt very homey. The walk to downtown is fine for people who are in good health to walk. A little tough if you’ve had knee injuries so you may want to drive although everything is super close. I love that the owners left a list of all the local restaurants and places you can get rentals. Over all I would definitely recommend staying here
The toilet in one bathroom does not flush, suspect the valve might be a little plugged, not allowing enough water flow. Only trickles. Other than that, loved it. Thanks, Jim

Thank you for sharing your feedback, we're pleased you loved our home! That said, we apologize for the issue you encountered with the toilet and are happy to report it has been resolved. We enjoyed having you as our guest and we hope to host you again.
Place was clean and comfortable. Easy check in. Provided with access code that is a full 10-digit phone number...so not easy to memorize and had to bring code with when leaving the home. Good location in terms of closeness to town for easy walking. Loud in terms of being located on road just behind the main highway. Weird in terms of the back dirt road seems to be used as a dump for random housing appliances and garbage halfway between home and traffic light. Comfortable inside, bedding and furniture. Limited kitchen condiments. Stayed cool enough with cooling units in each room on 98 degree days. Nice deck.
