I simply could not have picked a better place to stay! Clark was such a kind and communicative host, and he went out of his way to make sure that I had the best stay possible. The apartment had everything I needed and more. Having a washer/dryer and a refrigerator was a lifesaver, as were the two AC units. The apartment feels cozy and private. The location is amazing, too. It's a short walk to the metro and the waterfront, with lots of great bars and restaurants lining the street in either direction. I never even turned the TV in the apartment on because there was so much to do within short walking distance.I will absolutely try to stay here again if/when I'm back in the DC area!!

Thank you Nicole, we’re so glad that you had a wonderful stay with us. And as you say, our central location makes it easy to get around Old Town, and we’re convenient to the metro making it easy to get to Reagan National Airport or downtown DC. We would love to have you back anytime and glad we could make it a cozy, comfortable place.
We absolutely loved our stay. The property was clean, comfortable, family-friendly, and in a great location with shops and restaurants nearby. The host was wonderful, and everything was exactly as described.Honestly, I’m almost hesitant to leave such a glowing review because I’d love for this place to remain available for our future trips! But it truly deserves the recommendation. We would happily stay here again.

About the host
Hosted by Clark Bavin
We were born and raised here in Alexandria - you might say we probably know more than most, ha. We love sharing our hometown, its history, its colonial charm, and southern hospitality with others. Being a small town right in the backyard of our Nation’s Capital is quite interesting.
Why they chose this property
Alexandria has an amazing history and it has been exciting to see how it changes and adapts to the new world. Our location has changed tremendously over the years - but we continue to have charming shops and small businesses, excellent dining choices, and several coffee shops. Like most historic seaport towns, there are still some residences above the shops. It’s a very vibrant community and there’s always something going on. And when there’s not, that’s fine too. Lots to take in and explore.
What makes this property unique
What we offer is a little oasis, a get away place centrally located in Old Town, Alexandria. It’s a carriage house (an expanded flounder style) at the back of an 1800s townhouse which is largely a commercial building with an antiques shop and several small businesses.
