This thoughtfully restored 1970s ranch is filled with antique details and retro charm — every room has been curated to feel warm, lived-in, and a little bit out of time. Whether you're traveling for work, an extended stay, or an antique-hunting weekend on McKinney's historic square, this house is built for comfort.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS — Sleeps up to 9 across four bedrooms:
• Bedroom 1 — King bed (primary, with TV and Chromecast)
• Bedroom 2 — Queen bed. A pack 'n play and changing pad are in this closet, help yourself, no need to ask.
• Bedroom 3 — Queen bed, plus a foldaway queen frame and mattress stored in the closet
• Bedroom 4 — Twin bed in a converted sunroom: fully insulated, air-conditioned, French doors with curtains for privacy, a desk, and a separate back-door entrance. Perfect for a remote-working partner or a teen who wants their own space.

OUTDOOR
Hot tub out back, with an outdoor sectional and dining set on the concrete patio and a tree swing in the yard. Fully fenced with mature shade and raised garden beds. There's a double gate off the driveway and a long concrete pad — if you're traveling with a trailer or something over 20 feet, message me ahead and we'll make room for it.

THE STREET
The lot is quiet and well spaced, with no townhome density on either side. The street stays calm and the immediate neighbors keep the same hours we do. Quiet hours are 10 PM to 8 AM.

Planning a get-together? Message me first with what you have in mind and roughly how many people, and we'll work out a fee that makes sense. What I can't do is a surprise.

KITCHEN
Fully equipped: full-size refrigerator, electric stove and oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, waffle maker, drip and Keurig coffee makers. Pots and pans, knife set, cutting boards, baking sheets, muffin pan, mixing bowls, measuring cups, colander, cheese grater, can opener, meat thermometer, wine openers, wine glasses, dishes and silverware, dish towels. Salt and pepper, coffee filters, and coffee in the fridge.

LAUNDRY
In-unit washer and dryer in the butler's pantry, plus a clothes drying rack and steamer.

ENTERTAINMENT
Three TVs (living room, primary bedroom, sunroom), each with a Roku streaming device. Netflix is signed in and ready — guests can also log into their own services. The primary bedroom TV supports Chromecast.

INTERNET
High-speed 2-gig fiber with a battery backup that keeps the WiFi alive through brief outages. Built for remote work, video calls, and streaming.

EARLY ARRIVAL
Check-in is 3 PM, but if you get into town early just message me. I live on the same street and I'm usually happy to hold your bags at my place while the cleaners finish up.

ON-SITE RENTAL TRUCK (optional)
There's a pickup in the driveway that rents through Turo. If it's parked there, it's available — book it on the app, or message me and I'll set it up. The house, the yard, and the hot tub are yours alone. It sits off to the side and won't affect your parking, and anyone coming to pick it up is in and out of the driveway only.

About the host

Hosted by Joseph lundgren

Host profile image
Hi, I'm Joe — your host. I'm a McKinney local with a soft spot for old houses, vintage objects, and the particular kind of comfort that comes from a place that's been thoughtfully lived in. When I'm not hosting, I run Vintage McKinney, an antique shop in town that supplies many of the curated details you'll find at the property.

My goal is to give guests a calm, characterful base — whether you're here for work, an extended stay, or a long weekend exploring downtown McKinney's restaurants and antique stores. I keep communication friendly and brief: you'll have everything you need before you arrive, and I'm a quick message away if anything comes up during your stay.

If you spot something at the house you love, there's a good chance you can pick up something similar at the shop on the historic square.

Why they chose this property

This neighborhood is the sweet spot between quiet and convenient. Tree-lined streets, mature landscaping, and neighbors who wave when you pull in — but you're a 3-minute drive to Highway 380 and 8 minutes to Historic Downtown McKinney's town square. That square is a treasure: brick streets, restaurants, antique shops, a performing arts center, and the kind of weekend pace that feels like a different decade.

For travel pros and remote workers, the location puts you minutes from the McKinney medical corridor, US-75, and a quick straight shot down to Allen, Plano, and the DFW airports. It's a low-stress base for working in the area without sacrificing a peaceful place to come home to.

What makes this property unique

Two things set this house apart.

First, the vintage character — every room has been thoughtfully curated with restored antiques, period light fixtures, and small details that make the home feel collected rather than decorated. It's the kind of place you notice something new every day of your stay.

Second, and the reason a lot of guests book: a 40-plus-foot concrete pad runs the length of the fenced backyard, accessible through a double gate off the driveway. You can pull a truck, trailer, RV, or work equipment straight in and lock it up overnight. Contractors and traveling professionals consistently tell us it's the deciding factor — secure parking is rare in this kind of residential setting.

Add 2-gig fiber WiFi with battery backup, a sunroom-converted fourth bedroom with its own back-door entrance, and three TVs with streaming, and the house works equally well for solo workers, multi-room families, and traveling teams.
