The perfect get away! Our family of four enjoyed the cozy cottage in quiet neighborhood, beautiful water views, kayaking, fishing, grilling, visiting Salisbury and the NC Transportation Museum.

The inside was clean except there were spiders in the corners of every room. We probably killed 30 spiders upon entering the home and several more throughout our stay. My husband and I both found a spider crawling on us during our stay. The porch and deck out back were unusable because of spider webs and tree debris. The kayaks were full of dirty water and needed to be cleaned before we used them. The dock had many nails sticking up. The view was amazing. It was very quiet. The inside was nicely updated and very comfortable. The seating and beds were comfortable. The bedding and towels were very nice.

The guest messaged me that they killed 30 spiders within the first 30 minutes of their stay! Wow, 1 per minute and still stayed the rest of the weekend? OUTSIDE was unusable because of spider webs? I'm just not sure how we satisfy that type of expectation. We're located on a rural lake, so yes there will be spiders and mayflies and other insects, especially in the summer. We spray the house regularly and do the best we can to keep the bugs in check, but I don't recommend future guests stay at a rural lakefront property if they aren't prepared to see some insects. All of our guests on this platform and others haven't had the same experience as these guests and hopefully you can see this review for what it is.
