Well, this one's going in the hall of fame. Quick context: this guest brought extra people who stayed overnight, plus cats, and left the place covered in kitty litter. Etc. Vrbo reviewed the situation and told us to cancel the reservation, so we did. Apparently a review was the encore. How vrbo allowed a cancelled reservation to leave a revenge review is cAzy obviously. Apparemtly theIr Firdt review was not aloowed to post and somehow they got one posted. The rest? We'll spare you. You don't need to read the novel-length message thread we lived through, and honestly, neither did we. We'll just note that this same guest thanked us repeatedly for the beautiful home and our efforts to meet every request, right up until the rules applied to them. Here's what we'd rather you read: I am a “super host” and thisnis a “guest favorite“ And just read every other review we've ever received. On every platform, our only rating below a perfect score was a single 4.8 Out if 5 stars. Everything else is a top mark, whether that's 5 stars or 10, plus raves and the occasional love letter to the hummingbirds. We'll let that speak for itself. We bend over backwards for our guests, and we'll keep doing it. We've even had guests who stretched the rules, and we worked it out with them so kindly that they still left glowing reviews. One bad apple won't change how we host. Hummingbird House is a private little sanctuary tucked into Laurel Canyon, and we pour ourselves into making every stay peaceful, thoughtful, and a bit magical. Guests who love that tend to love it here. If house rules feel optional to you, we're probably not your place. For everyone else: come on up and enjoy. The hummingbirds are waiting. 🐦
