About this property

Cozy Coastal Cape Ann Suite - Near Downtown, Beaches & Dining

Wake up minutes from the water on Massachusetts' beautiful North Shore. This private, newly renovated 2-bedroom guest suite in Gloucester is your own downstairs coastal retreat — close to sandy beaches, fresh seafood, downtown shops, and everything that makes Cape Ann special.

Renovated in 2025 with a bright, nautical beach theme, the entire downstairs is yours: two bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room, a dining area, and your own private entrance. The upstairs is separately occupied and completely off limits, so your space stays private from the moment you arrive.

Whether you're planning a beach weekend, a family trip, or a relaxing escape by the sea, you'll have a comfortable, convenient home base with the best of Gloucester right outside the door.

PERFECT FOR
- Couples wanting a quiet coastal weekend away
- Families with kids (the bunk room is always a hit)
- Small groups and friends exploring Cape Ann
- Beach lovers, foodies, and whale-watching travelers
- Anyone who wants to be near the water without oceanfront prices

THE SPACE

Bedroom 1 — A queen-size bed and a wall-mounted flat-screen TV. The perfect place to unwind after a day in the sun.

Bedroom 2 — Two bunk beds and its own wall-mounted TV, ideal for kids, extra guests, or larger families.

Living Room — Built for downtime, with a big 65-inch TV, a video game console, an electric fireplace table for a cozy coastal glow, and a sofa that converts into an extra sleeping space. Movie night, game night, or feet-up-and-relax night — take your pick.

Bathroom — Upgraded well beyond your average guest suite: heated floors, a wireless Bluetooth speaker fan, and blue LED accent lighting for a spa-like feel.

Dining & Refreshments — A microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker, plus a dining table with seating for four. Great for morning coffee, snacks, drinks, and light meals.

A quick, honest note: this suite does not have a full kitchen or stove — and here, that's more of a feature than a drawback. You're just minutes from some of the best seafood and restaurants in New England, so most guests happily skip cooking and eat their way through town. We mention it up front so your stay is exactly what you expect.

THE LOCATION — THIS IS THE STAR

Gloucester is a classic New England seaport, and you're right in the middle of it. Downtown restaurants, fresh-off-the-boat seafood, shops, art galleries, and the working waterfront are all just a short trip away.

Beaches
- Good Harbor Beach — about 7 minutes away
- Half Moon Beach — about 7 minutes away
- Wingaersheek Beach — about 15 minutes away

Nearby on Cape Ann
- Whale watching tours just 5 minutes away from Gloucester Harbor
- Rocky Neck, one of America's oldest working art colonies
- Historic Hammond Castle overlooking the sea
- The shops and galleries of nearby Rockport and Bearskin Neck
- Harbor views, lighthouses, and miles of classic coastline to explore

Between the beaches, the harbor, the seafood, and the small-town coastal charm, there's more than enough to fill a weekend — or a whole week.

PARKING & GETTING IN

Guest parking is at the back of the house. One dedicated space is provided, and up to two cars can fit if parked tandem-style and pulled forward. Additional street parking may be available nearby depending on the season, time of day, and local rules.

Finding us is easy: look for the cream-colored house with black shutters. Pull into the driveway, head toward the back, and turn right — the grey patio and your private basement entrance will be right there.

GOOD TO KNOW

- This is a private downstairs suite. The upstairs is a separate, occupied living space that is off limits and not part of the rental. The stairs to the second floor are locked, and the downstairs storage room is locked and restricted.
- For safety and property security, there are exterior security cameras at the front and back of the house. There are no cameras inside the guest suite or in any private indoor areas.
- We respect your privacy and are reachable by message anytime you need anything during your stay.

Place had no kitchen sink or washer and dryer . Messaged host to inform him of a late check in. Original plans were for 10pm check in. Our plans changed to a 7:30 pm check in. Place was supposed to be ready at 4:00. Messaged host at 4pm regarding change and was informed that he let previous guest stay Late and place wouldn’t be ready til 10pm. He did have it ready at 8pm. . Received a text from him during stay that “ you aren’t following the rules man”. Evidently we laughed loud at one point. Parking was difficult as well.

Thank you for your feedback, Steve. I'd like to clarify a few points for future guests. The listing does not advertise a full kitchen — this is shown clearly in the photos and description at booking, so it was known beforehand. On check-in: your arrival changed twice on the day of your stay, from 3 PM to 11 PM to roughly 5:30 PM. I accommodated every change and still had the unit ready ahead of your final arrival. The house rules, which are posted in the listing, were not followed at any point during the stay. Despite reminders, quiet hours (10 PM–7 AM) were repeatedly ignored — prompting complaints from neighbors and the resident upstairs — and lights, TVs, and air conditioning were left running throughout the unit every day, even after I asked directly. On the final day I was asked how to check out, a process spelled out in the same listing, which suggests it wasn't reviewed — and would also explain the comment about the kitchen. I was flexible and responsive throughout the stay, and I wish you the best.

I stayed at this cute basement apartment for one night with my four teen and adult children and it met our needs well. With five people, we had two in the double bed, two on the bunk bed, and one on the couch. There is also a twin-size fold-up bed we could have used. The best thing is that the location was absolutely perfect as a home base for both Gloucester and Rockport. Right on a main road (tricky driveway but not a big deal), quick drives in either direction. Two supermarkets very close by plus other markets. Everything was very clean. The host was responsive to messages. Nice large-screen TV/gaming set-up in the living room, and TVs in both bedrooms as well. Bathroom has a cool Bluetooth sound system. Shower is good. Kitchen is fine if you understand that it's more like a hotel kitchenette with no sink or stove. (The description says "not a full kitchen" and that's what they mean.) There's a medium-size fridge (with freezer), a microwave, and a coffee maker. There is a table with four chairs. We were able to make dinner and breakfast with plug-in appliances that we brought with us, and we brought several jugs of spring water to use for cleaning, washing hands, and drinking. It worked fine.Windows open for ventilation, and there is a mini-split AC in the living room. We were very comfortable. This was a good and affordable place for our brief getaway.
