Take a step back in time to the golden age of the Colorado frontier at this one-bedroom-plus-loft cabin in South Fork, a beautifully appointed escape that brings modern comfort to an incredibly atmospheric setting. Whether you're planning to hit the slopes at Wolf Creek Ski Area (22 miles southwest) or ride your ATVs directly from the house into Rio Grande National Forest, you'll be able to enjoy all that South Fork has to offer, all year long. The living space features natural wood, stone, and textiles inspired by the American west, as well as a fully appointed kitchen with a breakfast bar, a washer/dryer, high-speed WiFi, 55' Smart TV, and Direct TV with over 200 channels. There's even an expansive, fenced-in yard where your dogs can run around and stretch their legs. At night, you'll find a king-size bed in the one-bedroom, as well as a queen-size bed, a double bed, and a twin bed in the open loft.

Perfect mountain get away!

Kit Carson was the perfect mountain get away. The fishing was great in the area. Temps were great and our 4 legged friend had plenty of room to run in the backyard with out fear of him getting out. We can't wait to stay again!

We came to the area to ride our side x sides. The log home is beautiful with a lovely kitchen and laundry. We enjoyed the back porch view. The generous parking was a highlight of the property, with room for 2 pickups pulling enclosed trailers.....with room to spare.

Mountain get away

The cabin was the perfect little place to stay. It was spacious and cozy. The yard was large and perfect for our 4 legged friend to run around in with out worrying that he would get out of the fence. We loved sitting on the porch to enjoy the moring and evening mountain air.

This is a beautiful, spacious cabin with a wonderful full kitchen. We loved the large parking area and lighting around the property. It’s also close to the ATV trails and South Fork businesses. The people in town are super friendly and helpful. It was a great getaway for my husband and I.

My husband and i loved our stay at Kit Carson cabin. The home is very nicely decorated and very comfortable. Our favorite parts of our stay were the front and back porches, great places to watch the amazing sunrises and sunsets. Parking is great and the neighborhood is very peaceful and quiet. We'll stay here again!

The house was perfect for our family of four plus family dog. The back yard and dog door was perfect! We loved the entire feel of the cabin! Very well stocked and clean! Communication about check in and check out was great!
